Graham's voice is still young sounding and very clear, just like when he was young.

I did not know about Graham Nash and Joni. I always liked the song, but this gives it more meaning.

That man wrote a masterpiece with that song. I love Graham because he was didn't come out the other side of being a rockstar as some souless alien. He's just a great delightful guy.

I knew Joni was close to them (Woodstock song story) but I never knew the intimacy she had with Graham or that this song was about that. I'm so fortunate to have been a kid in the 70s and had aunts and uncles that let me listen to their records. I was listening to this stuff when other kids where listening to Sesame St records. This generation has the tech, but we had the music and I wouldn't trade in my time to live on this planet with any other generation just for the music alone.
One of my favorite songs. Graham just sounds so peaceful and cozy and content. To have left the Hollies, left England for sunny California, left his wife who was cheating on him, and joined Croz and Stills in CSN, and to just be happy and content, was great for him at the time. Perfect lazy sunday afternoon song!
I read where he said "I got off the plane, looked around, saw a palm tree, felt the sunshine, and kissed the ground. I was home...... or something like that. After he got rich he moved to Hawaii. Don't know which island.

This guy is a story teller! Every story I listen to by him is worth the time spent! What a life. Of course he is going to write great lyrics. He tells great stories. I also picked up on the "I have a heart to break" line as well. There is a song there.
Its beautiful the way he tells the story. You know he still feels the pain of breaking up with her, even after so many years. His off-the -cuff comment 'I still have a heart to break' is poignant. God bless his tenderness. (I just came back from visiting an old Grinch who lives in a world-of-one and has NO heart to break. brrrr... truly miserable.) Thanks for the post. Ive been singing it all day working in our garden. hahaha.. and thank you Mr Nash for writing it.
I think all of us who were young when this song came out were born at a great time.
That's a powerful and beautiful story, and makes me appreciate the song even more. I think Graham still has feelings for Joni ... he had tears in his eyes even after all these years. A wonderful few years together, and a lifetime of memories.

i remember that time very well. i had the girl, lost the girl, and it was the most wonderful time of my life. im not a songwriter, but i am a musician... never made it big. but i still play and the music you guys and gals created still lives in my heart as does the love of my life.

"Judy Blue Eyes" was about Steven Stills relationship with Judy Collins. Judy Collins is another superstar from the period when music had lyrics with meaning.
I met Mr. Nash a long time ago in a coffee shop. He seems like a good guy, down to earth, and is so very talented!
And that beautiful relationship and the feelings in it, are preserved forever in his beautiful song. The power of music.

I absolutely love Graham because he is a very good man, a genuine artist, an incoditional friend, a gentleman with ideas an feelings that he has shared sucessfully with the world for decades. Since the first time I heard Our House I've loved it, and much more knowing where it came from.
This video proves that the love of your life exists. It is not a "romanticoide" idea.
Apart of all this, Graham helped me with just one line: "Someone is going to take my heart, but no one is going to break my heart again".I do thank you, master.
That song was the anthem to my married life. All we ever wanted was that blissfully simple lighting of the fire. We had it. For 44 years I put the flowers he'd buy me in the vase. The two cats in our yard grew to be two daughters, a couple of dogs and a horse or two. And as the last chorus of the song played out, I lost my George, too soon, to sudden. But still when I travel back in my mind, "our house" reminds me that once upon a time, I had it all.

First of all, let me say how much I truly love your series of stories about these important artists. Brilliant.
I grew up as a young man near these foothills of Southern California, from Laurel Canyon to Topanga, and everywhere in between. I had often fantasized what wonderful things went on in the private recesses of those artistic little houses that curiously dotted the Hollywood Hills like the magic mushrooms I had once enjoyed. Thanks for the brief tour inside, and for the wonderful memories of my youth.
Just think if she bought a bong instead, or if it was sunny and warm. Inspiration is magical.

This song is my favorite, always been since I first heard it when I was 7. Reminds me of how my papa loves my ma very much and how our family is glued by their love, now that paps passed away, i know ma is broken hearted beyond my imagination but she always felt loved by him, always was and always have been.

Crosby, Stills and Nash seem to each have been heartbroken and that is what maybe gave them their inspiration to such great songs. David Crosby's girlfriend was killed tragically in a car accident, Stephen Stills wrote Suite Judy Blue Eyes about Judy Collins who still broke up with him and Graham Nash wrote Our House about his relationship with Joni Mitchell. Heartbreak but wonderful 3 part harmony.

I was 10 when it came out. My older brother left the record behind for me (thanks!) and I always loved this song. It felt so ordinary but loving, like what a life together should be like when you're in love.

I'm adding this to my Graham Nash playlist on RUclips! I love this story behind this. This was my introduction to Graham and his music as a little girl at four years old, and then years later, I discovered Joni and her music, and she brought me back to Graham and his music in 2016, after CSN/CSNY split, and I discovered Laurel Canyon and I found out the true story. I have seen Graham in concert three times, and this Friday will be my 4th time! My parents bought me tickets for Christmas! He will be singing this song in his show! I have also met him twice, and he is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. Go see him if he comes your way. You will not be disappointed!

I remember an audio clip from all those years back where Joni is telling some interviewer that she and Graham were about to marry. She sounded like a bubbly young schoolgirl. MAN! The time - it goes right on - with us or without us.

I currently work in giving English classes in Bogota. Yesterday, I gave lessons to an almost absolute 18-years-old Joni Mitchell look-like lady -just the color of the eyes are different. This colombian girl had never heard of Joni before. We could not believe how similar they are! She was totally surprised! And even more when I showed her this video.
I think Graham is one of the best and most honest songwriters. I love this song, it means a lot to me. And knowing the background story makes me love it more and more. I bless you, Joni and Graham.
In November of 2021, I was at my Chiropractor, and I heard this song whilst i was waiting for my treatment. For the next three months, this song would be stuck in my head, day after day, after day. It's now Feb of 2022, Feb the 15th, and this song is still stuck in my head. It's been stuck in my head through bad days, and good days. I've been in the hospital, sick as a dog, and throughout my sleep, I'd hear this song in my dreams. Getting better, I'd still hear this song. Whilst performing Physical therapy in an underwater treadmill, It's played in my head. While I'm on my way to see my Dr. It's been stuck in my head. On my birthday, it was stuck in my head. AND NOW, whilst typing this, It is stuck in my head. SERIOUSLY!!! I LOVE THIS SONG!! I don't know why, but I seriously do!

I was once a professional stagehand and I worked local crew , mostly. One show at our Civic Ctr in Oklahoma City, we did Crosby, Nash show I think. It's been back in the mid ninties. We were loading out , I was coiling a 4 o' cable a really big thick cable. I was sweating and in my own little world. When I felt this tap on my left shoulder, I noticed all the work had stopped it was quiet and everyone on stage was staring at me which is very unusual for load out. I turned around and BAM! It was none othe than Mr. Graham Nash! On his way out guitar case in hand. I said something like Hi sir, whats up? He said I just want to thank you for all the hard work your doing for me. I said your welcome. I want you to have this , he outstretched his hand I reciprocated and he dropped a gold plated machine head into my hand! I said I can't take this ,this may violate union rules he F---k that Its a gift. I said thank you very much and I said can I give you a hug? He yes. He left and everyone on stage ran over to me and said what was it ? I said this gold looking machine head. The guys looked at it and we went back to work. Mr. Nash is pure class! That is one of my treasures ! It's right next to my Stevie Ray Vaughn pick. Reminiscing about this story brought tears to my eyes so sorry for any misspellings.
