      height allowance isn't bad in front seats, but serious problem for back seats as compared to say mid 1990s or accords...you don't want adult males in the back, especially if they're sitting behind adult males

    I used to own a 2009 Honda CIvic LX in the same color as your car. I loved it a lot and I had a lot of plans to turn it into a car that looks sexy and is more convenient and usable on the inside. Unfortunately (and it hurts to think about to this day) someone had ran a red light at 60 mph in a 40 zone and totaled my car as well as nearly killing me. My life has been worse financially and mentally ever since and I do not forgive to person who was driving recklessly, as they had no insurance, and was letting an unlicensed minor drive. The only thing I wish upon them is imprisonment. I have a 2014 Ford Focus Hatchback SE and it is a nice car, but it has no sentimental value. I will forever miss having a 2009 Honda Civic. I just want to get an 8th generation honda civic again. There's nothing I can do now because I am only 17 and I don't have the financial leverage to be able to buy or finance one.

    Completely agree with what you said. Mine is a 2006 Asian spec model ( i live in Taiwan), which I personally think aesthetically looks nicer than the NA model. Basically looks identical to the Japanese 8th gen FD1. It's not a particularly fast car with just 140 hp, but handles very well. The interior also, til this day, looks very nice, not dated AT ALL. As a proud owner of an 8th Gen Si, I can say that it handles like a dream especially when you get some aftermarket control arms and suspension on there. At the time of writing, I have SPC Control Arms and TruHart Coilovers. That car is snappy, responsive and makes you feel like an initial D character when you take corners, that car is glued to the floor and it took 65mph and 10+ year old tires to lose control of the car when taking a corner. It also is easy to maintenance (unless you are trying to get to the oil filter) Overall, the 8th Gen Si is a phenomenal car and sounds great especially when VTEC kicks in (I currently have an Invidia Q300 Catback). I also have projector headlights. One thing that I want to stress to anyone who owns an 8th Gen Si, is that this is not a car that you should build for power, but instead handling. Focus more on control/handling mods then follow up with some small power mods like air intake, throttle body, headers and other such things. I also recommend adding after market detent springs as they make the gear shift snap into gear when it usually feels kinda mushy. It's a great track/touge car if you build it right and a genuine gem.

    'is so nice!" Lol.... Thnx for helping me love my Civic even more, didn't think it was possible but wow. Thank u!(: But like really tho! Like when I drive other people's cars I'm like wow it's huge it's harder to move around bcuz mine is just so much easier to drive and get around and move around sooooo easily like it's small and compact but like not too much it's JUST perfect exp for my 4ft 11 ass lol and listen ive wrecked once and slammed the entire passenger side into a wall in the rain at night and I expected the entire side to be crushed in.....not a single dent I'm still really confused how that was possible bcuz it was a hard slam and the passenger chair airbag came out. Just blows my mind I'm really grateful tho.

    Great video, this makes me miss my old honda! I had bittersweet love for my 8th gen SI, definitely my favorite Civic generation still but these are among the least reliable Civics! The design was so much fun and it really does drive well, but pre refresh models were notorious for engine blocks cracking. Mine had that paint flake like 90 percent of them, bad motor mounts, the pricey ac compressor failure, and it consumed brakes too for some reason. Definitely better than any domestic small cars, and I'd still take one over a kia or Hyundai but the newer ones with the k20 seem to be much more reliable. They just made you pay for personality, especially if you got an 06-08!

      @@BernonCars you have to drive an 8th gen SI !!!!! It's a completely different car from the base model it's a beast, try and find one that has hondata on it too it gets rid of that rev hang and wakes up the whole car it's wild.

    • @Kdubz_Auto_HVAC
      @Kdubz_Auto_HVAC 9 месяцев назад +2

      The r18 had block cracking issues, not the k20z3. There's no recall/tsb for the 8th gen Si, only the base.
      Also those all sound like normal high mileage car problems, nothing specific to the model. Did you think it was gonna drive brand new for 200k miles without changing one part?
      I have a whole book of parts I've replaced and I still put it on top in terms of reliability.

    • @Realistick
      @Realistick 9 месяцев назад

      I know, I was talking about the 8th gen in general. I never had a block issue worry because I had the SI. I had it for like 18 months, most cars I've owned had similar miles and less issues. My experience is anecdotal, it's not a bad car, but the 8th gen civics had a fair amount of common issues, some were expensive.@@Kdubz_Auto_HVAC

    I have a 2008 EX-L with 160k miles. It has only left me stranded once when the starter died (I confused the symptoms for a dying battery or could have addressed sooner). This is an excellent car and I'll never get rid of it. I've had two newer Honda Odyssey vans and a 4runner but this one always stays in the stable. Watching this video was like watching some kid on a archeology dig and he found my car.😀 This car is so old the original owner used directions printed from MapQuest! 🤣🤣

    Just picked up a 2011 sedan that was so cheap I couldn’t pass on it. Had to replace a worn motor mount and recharge the AC. The plugs I changed out and the old ones didn’t show signs of oil burning. With 150,000 miles it should be a solid gas sipper for another 150,000 with regular maintenance of course. Interior is still nice and solid too for a high mileage vehicle. Good job on the video. 👍

I daily this thing and have driven it from WA state to Montana and back and as well as to Redding , CA and back . Never once had an issue in either trip. I been fortunate to have one that doesn’t have that paint fading problem . My paint has remained in tack besides minor scratches from daily use , a roof rack and a bike rack lol.

    I own a 07 DX coupe. Was looking at performance parts and what is there is limited or expensive. I truly enjoy driving mine. I keep up with all factory maintenance required by book, I use only high-quality petroleum products. This car has never let me down, still gets awesome gas mileage. I was able to run two 3 inch tubes from the fog light location into a y pipe then into the air box. I have also partially deleted the EGR operation and installed a chip. The ram air makes a big difference when you need to haul azz.

    I have 2007 Honda Civic hatchback. I fell in love with its looks, but I'm looking to trade in to 9'th generation Civic. I'm simply missing rear camera and GPS navigation with an appropriate on-board display. These features are things which separate the old era car from new era cars for me. And I got 1.4l version. I can get 5l per 100 km with that engine, but boy it sure lacks power going upwards a steep hill or on the highway.
    As pricing goes, I got my Civic for 2500 euros. Back then they were really under-appreciated. However, at the moment, their price after like 4 years of usage went up to 4000 euros (ones in good condition like my own). 3000 (expected available offers) and 2000 (questionable maintenance cars).
    I'm looking to buy 9'th gen executive edition car with leather seats and sunroof. Those costs around 9000 euros at the moment. I will try to sell my car next month after some additional investments. If someone buys, great. If not, I will continue to invest into that car's anti-rust proofing. I do enjoy Honda Civics and I only want more of it.

    Ive had a good amount of cars in my lifetime. Mostly American, because well...my father loves GM and is basically a master mechanic when it comes to eorking on them.
    However, now, i have learned to work on a decent amount of things on all cars and ive been wanting to get something totally new to me and also something that i can work on and upgrade and love. Ive absolutely settled on getting an 8th gen Civic. I love the shape, the silhouette is beautiful and just perfect. Tje size is great too. So i will definitely be scooping one asap. Just keeping my eyes out for a good one to grab.
    I plan on also getting a different engine to rebuild, for educational purposes but also to drop in and turn it into a higher performance car. K20 with k24 heads aeems to be consensus good.
    I plan on getting some body kit pieces and rims and then painting it Midori Green, which was a Honda factory color on the 96 civic hatch. Its a beautiful green with almost a pearl look. Then ill powdercoat my rims white. I believe that will look absolutely beautiful. If i change my mind, the only other colors id choose would be a striking red or a unique shade of purple.
    I have been researching exhaust options for them, so im not yet sold on buying a system from a brand or just getting headers and muffler and doing a custom job.
    Definitely will be upgrading tbe suspension bits and dropping it on coils too
