I use some indicators the best though for me is the old horizontals . However I do mix this up with divergence , fibs and ema lines.

I've only been on the charts a month now but I'm really finding EMA's and just basic observation of price action and the overall trend seems to work okay. Except when I do things like I did this morning and tried to trade against the trend.....still struggling on how to do that properly.....maybe not at all is the right way.

HI everyone, which indicators should a forex trader use, the answer is very simple, step one:
No indicators; control price actions, control this first, patterns levels …;
Step two look into everything of indicator that you can see in the market but one by one and take those ones that they add value to your price action, that helps you to perform a better exit or entry, if you have one indicator that you like, them step 3 master this indicator first, then moving to the next one if you need a second indicator, based on my experience us a couch of 14 years you will not need more than 3 indicators into your charts at the same time to be a profitable trader.
Remember the most important value that you need to get when you looking for an indicator is that indicator that work for others maybe do not work for you, because you do not fill comfortable, because you do not see what others see, just look for what makes value for you.
indicator plus chart info plus other. never use one thing. you never trade on less then three confirmations of a price direction.

I went from Bollinger bands to stochastics to oscillators to having all of them altogether on a chart. honestly, they gave me more paranoia and anxiety when placing trades.
Nowadays, I use just one SMA and that's all. I've never appreciated a cleaner chart up to now, my trades are much better coupling an SMA with price action.

Three years sounds about right. Sometimes I just put my head on the keyboard ready to pull my hair out trying to find indicators that work for me......and settings. It's sickening how much you can modify everything.

Use oscillators combined with trend pullbacks. The Stochastic/Stochastic RSI is a good pullback indicator.

Growing into a mature trader, i now only use two indicators, the EMA and the RSI (just for confirming divergence). Makes trading feel so much cleaner and simple.

I don't use any indicators, I enter just on pullbacks on 4hrs chart that's it. By keeping it simple I'm doing just fine.
Kroshell official that's basically what I'm doing as well. I find the 4 hour chart to be the best time frame. It moves at just the right speed. Not so slow you have to wait days or weeks for a profit but slow enough so you don't have to watch the charts all the time.

How do you determine when the pullback has completed and is ready to reverse direction?
I don't know which indicator is best, and I do think what Andrew says makes sense. However. Like there are 100 different ways to play football, there are 100 different ways to trade. I want to check out the Japansese indicators; Ichimoku, Renko and Heikin Ashi. To use an analogy which might not to be too accurate. Yes, there can be too many indicators which makes you blind, but a chart with only candlesticks is like a road with no middle line or side lines or signs to me. Maybe not even a speed limit.
It would be interesteing to do an experiment with 30 trades with line charts, 30trades with candlesticks and 30 trades with candlesticks and indicators. I am quite sure the last one would be the most succesful.
10 EMA, 21EMA, 50SMA, 100SMA, 200SMA and that's all on the chart
I USE EXACTLY THE SAME 5 INDICATORS
So how do you trade with this, and what time flame do you use.
50 SMA for confirmation of a trend, 100SMA and 200SMA as a support/resistance, 10EMA and 21EMA for trend following retracements, timeframes from 5 min to weekly

There is nothing the best cause everything is depend on the real market, huge of big players at that time not about any indicators. We, traders just wait and see what they will do from the real market price and follow them. just that! Stop waste ur time and money for any courses or any indicator to any IB😊😊

Don't use MT4 for your charting software!!!! Sierra Chart is much better.
Pivot trading with 21- and 50-day Exponential Moving Averages, then oscillators showing o/b and o/s conditions. And of course the general trend of candlesticks trending upward or downward.
