As someone who has a Bonsai RUclips channel myself I will say it’s great to see a video showing the tree though the years as it progresses 👍
obviously not an easy thing to do, but too few bonsai channels follow up on their trees

Beautiful bonsai
I'm struggling to understand the process for the branch "graft" on the root over rock maple.
What is the purpose of placing the branch into that notch? As opposed to a more direct graft? Is this form of graft more successful, or does leaving it on the original branch give it 2x the nutrients, as its receiving them from the main trunk as well as the sacrificial branch leading to faster branch development?
Amaging specially the method of growing new branch by that method which is just like grafting .just amazing

It's amazing how you twist contort and heavily prune that tree and it still lives. Meanwhile my houseplants are mini Kardashians if I don't water them for even a single day.
I've always found bonsai beautiful analogy for life. Through struggle and adversity, setbacks and damage we can still not only survive, but thrive and achieve beauty that we otherwise couldn't have.
