Very impressive! How long did you keep them joined in the pot before cut them off into two trees? And also what climate zone are you doing this in? Thank you.
Greetings from Puerto Rico USA, great video, thanks for sharing with us. I see you are using some kind of substratum that I don't have, what else can I use to substitute it and will work well for bonsai?? Thanks!!
We have one huge ballet tree, the main tree is now being groomed for wall clasping, the rest we separated them and created many bonsai. Thank you for sharing.I will try this technique.
Sir can this be done with any two different types of trees. Like are there any limitations to the process? Very good video sir, would love to see how the tree does in the future.
if they are closely related, yes! it is most commonly done with fruit trees in the agricultural sector; lemons, and lime together, or many kinds of apple at once for example. i have a tree that grows 3 kinds of pear ^-^ it works by fusing the cambial tissue, it is a layer of cells just below the bark. to spare you a thesis, a useful propery of this tissue is it cannot distinguish between itself and foreign cambian. when pressed together and left for a while the two will become one. only plants closely related geneticly (same geneus or species) can be grafted. if you want more reading, the university of missuri and texas a&m professor Fred T. davis's work is informative (but the ladder is quite technical) good luck grafting!
8:30-8:50. I did that to 10 money trees (Pachira aquatica), and they all died. I think my mistake was to put them in strong light after that. 9:00-9:28. That's what every Japanese master does, and not a single American. Americans say that it creates a humid environment, which brings in molds and fungi. But Japanese have been doing it for centuries. I will try doing it, especially since here in California it's very dry. Thanks for teaching me.
Is it necessary to wire the root mass into the pot? I feel the wire will damage the tree as the tree grows Your skills are amazing. You are a true artist Would love a link for the well made tools you use Have a great year and thank you
I'm nowhere near a bonsai expert, so probably get other opinions... but I believe it's another way of "teaching" the tree to grow in a certain way and build certain characteristics people are looking for. Aesthetics in the bonsai world can make a lot of a difference price-wise. Also supports the tree of course, as bonsais tend to have a smaller root system and therefore won't have the same support a normal sized tree with a tap root has.
I got hook into plants then I saw your channel, it makes me want to grow bonsai. Anyway what is that thing you are putting on the wound of the plant? is that a clay?
You can also use the aluminum vent covering mesh it will also do the same very easy to shape and fasten together, when I was doing canna-bonsai or also known as bonsai-bud when I grafted in the auto flowering plant to take clones I used the above mesh to hold peat moss in place I no longer grow that I am onto more challenging hobbies
Мой муж всегда ругает меня если я стригу свои цветы фикуса, красула, олеандр. Покажу ему ваше видео пусть посмотрит что я ещё новичок в этом вопросе 😃, мне ещё надо учиться.
You are very artistic as making Bonsai is beautiful art. What did you use as a sealant when adding the other other tree? I belive it would be fantastic to have two totally different trees 😃
is this a rare species? -- interesting technique -- sometimes I think they do these because they can and also to keep themselves challenged and interested
Bonsai magic, thank you for showing this! Please show us the progress of both trees in the future
Thank you for your comment.
I don't know if I will raise it or give it to my friends, but I will report on the future.
Great video, thanks. What was the gray clay you used to protect the cut? What kind?
I love to see how you are able to create and improve trees and it was a pleasure again watching it all coming together, thanks!

Very impressive. What did you apply on the cut off shoot of the second plant before planting. Was it a gum?
It's called "Cut Paste". Also comes in a more fluid form, in a tube

The 2nd one with just the root will grow into a tree again?
Maybe it will sprout in March and become a tree.
Sometimes it fails.

This is to fix the wire.
When the tree moves, the root growth stops.
If there is a possibility of scratches, I will cut the wire in about half a year.

Wait so are both trees served by the new root system? They bound together, even with the bark being left on between them?

What’s the soil needed
Well I loved it
when is the best time of year to do this?
I think before spring or late fall is best.
can this method of making two trees into one thicker one, be done with Satsuki Azaleas?
Satsuki is not possible.
Satsuki has poor wound healing, and bad tree species cannot do this work.
@@bonsai-shinshi Thank you very much for reply. Your work is absolutely beautiful. Best wishes to you.
wow very interesting, I learned a lot from this video and want to try to practice it on my plants. always success and keep creating useful content 😍
Amazing work.
The paste you put on the original single tree is to block possible infection of new cut? Or it is medication?
It is a wound healing accelerator.
It also prevents water from entering.
Hadir nyimak bonsainya
Very impressive technique! What did you use to seal the cut at 9:18?
A wound healing accelerator exclusively for bonsai.
