Thank you. My Reshade is just a touch of Arcane Bloom. I do some color correction in Davinci as well.

Notching is cool but as someone who has worked on radar (not military) I'm sure it wouldn't work against any modern system. It seems pretty easy to defeat notching with digital processing.
It’s very effective against Phoenixes in DCS. Since they’re an older technology and with their very high altitude profile I would imagine it’s relatively accurate that they are easier to Notch but I am no expert. As I’ll show in later videos I use different tactics against modern missiles like AMRAAMS. 🤙🏻
@@LaRossaMusic F-14 with good RIO can still see you as you notch and using phoenixes in PULSE-STT would make missiles hit even if you notched them perfectly. Pulse is only efficient below 20nm, while good specs would be 15 maybe even 10 depending on aspect.
A shame that the other F-14 is not Iceman's and Slider's.
I too hear 104th Maverick's voice in my head when I fail to flip auto to manual on my Hornet radar...

It’s easy to notch the tws mode. The pulse Doppler mode for the ddd is a bit better. But imagine if it was possible to model the f14D with the modern AESA radar or if they went through with the plan to integrate the amramm. You would be unstoppable in DCS with phoenixes and Amramms
Btw nice job. I hate watching growling and screaming at the screen because of the many, many mistakes him and Longshot make but I am happy to say I enjoyed this. And remember “Speed is life”.
Really, as a newb I found it interesting. Been watching his most recent videos with Shotgun, what do you think of Shotgun then?
@@einarabelc5 Idk about shotgun. I’m not a frequent watcher now because it just sorta pisses me off. I know for a fact that longshot is just plain bad. Like in the f22 vs typhoon video (GS in the typhoon), Longshot for some reason decided to pull back long before they actually merged which sent him way way out infront the typhoon (he does this frequently). Like he almost died in a f22 within the first turn. They both also have this tendency to just fire whenever the bandit is like 20ft out of the hud. Like not just a snapshot but like no possible way of hitting the target because he didn’t even cross into the hud. They also don’t really fly their planes correctly. Like he says that he flys the hornet with nose position in mind but actually doesn’t. I could go on forever cherry picking a bunch of small infractions but that would make this comment even longer than it already is. Like GS is so bad that he banned phoenixes on his server because people who actually knew how to the f14 correctly would just shit on him. That’s the story I heard anyway. If you wanna learn some good tactics join the Wingman Finder server and find some wingmen that are fun to play alongside with. Let them teach you the ropes.

I know this is months old but I actually went through a similar scenario last night on GS lol. I was able to notch the first one but wasnt so luckky with the second. It is as hella stressful as it looks but you make it look good my dude! Awesome video for sure and got my sub!
he's using the hornet not the superhornet you should've got the superhornet mod
Mods would have the same physics characteristics so it wouldn't have been much different. :)
I heard the mod was pretty buggy so I haven’t tried it.

@@ronniel1311 RWR strobes are in the JHMCS, no need to waste a DDI on it. The SA page goes on the AMPCD.

I find it’s harder to find the notch with the HUD RWR…. and against Phoenixes, notching is essential. Plus, this wasn’t a situation where I didn’t know his altitude. It was that I couldn’t adjust my altitude because I left the TWS radar in Auto mode for the 10 second window I had to get a lock. AZ/EL is great for crowded servers or searching when you don’t know where bandits are. But simply hovering over or selecting their SA bugs often give you all the altitude info you need and makes the SA page more valuable here. That’s just me though!

This is awesome, the way you show your strategy in this dogfight! What I'm getting out of this is that the F-14 is still dangerous on today's fighter scene. That's also why the US makes sure no museums with F-14s can sell parts to Iran. They really don't want to fight the Tomcat haha!

Nice video. The players level you were up against can be seen at 11:07 when the last F-14, presumibly the smarter player, started stalling the plane left and right after hearing your missile in the rwr:)). We can tell for sure that you didn't need a volley of Amraams for that as the first missile hit him anyway! Poor ones!

Maverick’s Top Gun jet was a super hornet. Did you use the Hornet to make it a favor fight? I didn’t think a super hornet could clown on a f-14 super easy?
DCS doesn't have a super hornet, the nearest thing is the FA 18C

To add more tension, I would recommend adding visual/audio cues whenever something intense is happening. For instance when you were running away from the missiles you could have a darkening of the screen, or something like that. Otherwise, these are my favorite DCS videos of all time!
