Fantasia was the 2004 winner of American Idol (the same season Jennifer Hudson was on) She is also the cousin of K.C. and JoJo of Jodeci. Her mother is a gospel singer and her uncles are the 70s R&B group The Barrino Brothers. Singing is in her blood.

Fantasia is one of those singers who always destroys me. I don't know what it is, but she just stabs my heart in a way that few other singers do and I put her up there as one of the best. Her live performances are something else, too; she can be a little much at times, but if you see her performances of "Lady Marmalade," "You Are My Friend," (both at Patti Labelle tributes) or "When I See You" on Tom Joyner, you get a real sense of what she can do. And don't let her get around a gospel sone because she will beat it up.
