This woman has an anointing that breaks yokes, I’ve seen her live and witnessed people give their lives to Christ at her shows. The atmosphere feels charged with electricity when she sings gospel. The industry is afraid to give someone with a gift like hers a platform.

Ms Patti talked about why Fantasia doesn't get the mainstream attention she deserves (and it's not that different from why Patti experienced the same thing): we live in a world in which brown skinned girls with huge talent get passed over in favor of less talented light skinned girls. You should check out her tribute to Ms Patti where she sings "You Are My Friend" because it's pretty spectacular.
She was just announced as Celie in the film version of The Color Purple musical, which is great for he, and the guy directing it is super talented. I hope it brings her every success in the world because she deserves it.

Love your reactions. I would love to hear you react to another fabulous performer who came from theater playing the same role. Cynthia Erivo won a Tony, Emmy, and was nominated for two Oscars for lead actress and writing and singing the theme song from Harriet. Please react to her singing "I'm Here" on the Colbert show. She also has an album of her own that came out a few weeks back. You won't regret it.
