  • We like hazy IPAs so thought we would give this one a go.
Another kit by Mangrove Jacks, they like to bring out new kits that make you want to brew them up.
On opening the pouch you get amazing toffee and orange aromas which indicate this is going to be a good beer kit.
This is a 31 pint beer kit, which means the abv is going to be higher than their normal kits.
We made this mangrove jacks hazy ipa kit using their 1.2kg liquid malt extract instead of sugar, as we think this gives the best result. Giving you a beer that’s full of flavour, a great mouthfeel, body and colour.
Initial tastings when we bottled it are good. Its orange had turned to some pineapple and stone fruits, making it more like a fruit salad - juicy and delicious.
We like this beer kit and think you will too.
If you want more info, you can find the mangrove jacks hazy ipa beer kit on our website - www.brewbitz.c... - but stocks are limited as they only made a pilot batch, so at some point Mangrove Jacks will run out.
Here’s a link to all our Mangrove Jacks Beer Kits - www.brewbitz.c... - so if we are no longer able to get hold of the pilot batch, you can see what other kits are available.
If you have brewed up this kit, remember to let us know about it in the comments below. And if you need any help or guidance when brewing, feel free to get in touch.
Cheers for watching & happy brewing

Just wondering if the HOT water effects the yeast. Just made a Mangrove so chose to remove the yeast and pour a bit of how water into the bag.

The pouch will float, so make sure the yeast and hops (you can feel them) are facing up.
Good point though. One thing i forgot to say.

    Not oxidised?

No. No oxidised. more like the maillard reaction when they were concentrating the wort. I’ve seen it on quite a few of their kits where the liquid malt extract is darker than would normally be desired. Luckily it doesn’t really affect the flavour.

What did it taste like when conditioned????

Lightly malty, quite citrusy aromatic from the hops, hazy and easy drinking. Worth a go.

Great video Davin, did you say 19 or 90 grm’s of sugar
And does it have to be Brown bottles or is clear bottles ok to use
What is the price of this kit you are using please 👍

Hi. It was 90g of sugar for the priming.
Ideally brown bottles so that the light does not interact with the beer and create off flavours.
The MJ Hazy IPA kit is currently £23.95 and you can buy it at Brewbitz www.brewbitz.com/products/mangrove-jacks-hazy-ipa-31-pint-beer-kit

    Is this a limited edition?

Hi. Yes it seems so. But you never know, it might make it into their core range. Usually they make enough for 6-12 months supple though.

Awesome video. I would added the sugar first then when you add the bigger volume it naturally disperses throughout the beer.
