HTC One M7 Purple Cam Hardware Failure In Action

The "purple cam" bug ruins my video of fireflies coming out at dusk just outside of Franklin, TN.
IF YOU HAVE PURPLE CAM: Do not attempt to modify software or settings; you will be unsuccessful in resolving this issue via software. Send it in to HTC or if you bought it from a carrier, contact your carrier for repairs. This is a known hardware failure and it may progressively get worse with time.
If you're under warranty with AT&T and you have a nearby Device Support Center, they will swap out your phone right then and there. Kudos to AT&T for taking care of me with such a prompt resolution.
I look forward to making more videos with a properly working UltraPixel camera! Despite this issue, I think I'll be sticking with HTC for a while; the phone itself is awesome and now that I have a good camera, it's just about perfect.

Under warranty? If so, return the phone for repair. If not, get a new camera module and install it. Beware that doing ANY repair on the HTC One is quite difficult. It's one of the hardest to open mobile devices on the market right now. For first time device openers, I'd consider it a shop only repair as more than a few little tricks that look easy on video but actually require practice are required.
Want an easy to fix phone? Stick with Samsung Galaxy, those are easy to open and service.
