Those receivers are better designs and a whole lot less feisty! They even have proper thermal feedback in the bias circuit that directly tracks the output heatsink. SanKen still makes MT200 package transistors that are drop in replacements in the 7700. The exact part numbers Sansui used are discontinued but the new ones are even better than the originals.
I have a Samsun 9700 The volume button and the balance button has static in it I live in Chicago Illinois do you know someone in the Midwest can take care of this problem let me know thank you
Get it to a qualified tech ASAP and don't run it until its fixed. The amp might become unstable and then you're looking at a few hundred bucks to fix it.
I don't recommend it! These amps are engineered to deliver maximum power into 8 ohm loads at the cost of adequate safety margin into 4 ohm loads. With low impedance loads, they tend to run hot with shorter rebuild intervals and at high output, they can easily trigger their protection circuits. Unlike the 9090, these run A+B in parallel so two sets of 8 ohm speakers results in a 4 ohm load. Also, since these receivers run more power than the 9090 through similar transistors, they just don't have the same margins as a 9090. Now, the 9090 isn't supposed to run 4 ohms either but in practice it does so with much better durability. With this limitation in mind, and proper service that attends to the known issues, these receivers can deliver decades of fun and poor relations with any neighbors that have different tastes in music. ;)
Hi Andrew i have a SANSUI QRX7001 but if i plug a speaker into front left, A or B i get a loud "white noise" even with volume dial set to zero, is this easy to fix?
Jason Colston: Generally this type of fault isn't what I'd call a quick fix. You probably have one or more bad transistors. If you don't have the gear to trace signals, you'll need a pro. It could be on multiple boards as well.
Excellent vids on these units. I'm about to tackle repairs on a G5700 & G7700 so I'll be looking at these a lot.

This is a simple repair that can be handled by anyone that does audio. The controls just need a bit of Deoxit sprayed inside them.
Got a DC OFFSET problem inside my g9700 but for now it's okay

Good morning, Andrew. How can I contact you. I have a G-9700 that needs to come to see you. Thank you, William Griffith north Louisiana

Hey! Can this amp run both A and B speakers at the same time?
