Those who pass negative remarks have to remember a few things: 1) Comparing them to the veterans of yore like Bhimsen and Kumar Gandharva is not fair because they were what they were after decades of practice and public performances. 2) Singing in a duet /jugalbandi requires a different kind of experience and adjustment ...often you are playing together like this for the 1st time ! 3) Each singer has his own unique style and that is the beauty of music ...if all sang the same way life would be boring. If someone thinks he is the high position of criticising he is welcome to try to perform on stage ....!

हे माझे पण अती पसंतीचे नाट्यगीत आहे त्याकरीता राहूल देशपांडे व शंकर महादेवन यांची प्रशंसा करावी तेव्हढी कमीच आहे .१९६९ या वर्षी कट्यार काळजात घुसली हे संगीत नाटक नागपूरला झाले होते त्यावेळेच्या सीताबर्डी वरील त्यावेळेच्या धनवटे रंगमंदिरात सादर झाले होते .मी व माझे वडीलांसाठी दोन तिकीटा काढलेल्या होत्या .पण ऐनवेळी कार्यालयीन दौऱ्यावर जावे लागले .त्या नाटकात स्व.पं.वसंतराव देशपांडे , रामदास कामत , फैयाज ही गाणारी मंडळी त्यात होती .दौऱ्यावर जाण्यामुळे ती तिकीटे आई-वडीलांना देऊन जाण्यास सांगितले . वडिलांना भजनाचा छंद होता .नाटकाहून आल्यानंतर वडील नेहमी त्यातील गीते गात असत .वडील वसंतराव देशपांडेच्या गायनाच्या प्रेमात पडले होते .मला नंतर काही वसंतराव देशपांडे अभिनित हे नाटक आजपर्यंत पहायला मिळाले नाही .त्यांच्या नाट्यसंगीताच्या सीडी आणून टू-इन-वनवर ऐकत होतो .आता ५ वर्षांपूर्वी पं.चंद्रकांत लिमये अभिनित हे नाटक पाहिले .पण कसे झाले , दुधाची तहान ताकावर .पं.लिमये हे वसंतरावांचे शिष्य होतेच .त्यांच्या गायनाने पण मजा आली.
