  • In this terrain building video, I'm going to be crafting a medieval windmill out of XPS foam. This terrain piece is built with 32mm miniatures in mind, so it's perfectly playable with tabletop games and RPGs such as Warhammer and D&D.

    Absolutely gorgeous! Love your work top to bottom!
    With the windmill, did you consider using a fine threadcount but worn fabric glued onto the fan to give it the look of a cloth sheathed windmill? Something fine in threadcount but worn (say, tumbling it with those rocks of yours) could give it the effect of worn hessian, ripped and falling away from the blades.

    First off, I love it. This semi artsy comic look is just amazing. Any ideas how you could make the interior useable?

    • @OkayHobbyTime
      @OkayHobbyTime  2 года назад +1

      Thank you! Whenever I create interiors I like to separate the roof at the larger timber trim. Magnets can also be fitted in this section if needed.

    Beautiful work. I really like how you do wood texture w a wand; not sure if it's "realistic" but it's a strong aesthetic choice that I can fully get behind.

    First of all really awesome build!
    I wonder how well does those windmill... blades?... stay with only that small surface glue attached. my initial though is that there should be some toohpick or something similar inside the foam to support it more.

    • @OkayHobbyTime
      @OkayHobbyTime  2 года назад +1

      Thank you! And I was considering that but ended up going without since the bonded area is quite strong. But yes, a toothpick or a pin would help if more durability is required. 🙂
