  • Christine began smoking cigarettes in high school to fit in. She became addicted and continued to smoke menthol cigarettes for many years. At 44, she was diagnosed with oral cancer. She lost her teeth due to radiation treatments and had to have half of her jaw removed after the cancer came back twice. In this commercial, Christine talks about how oral cancer treatments and reconstructive surgery have affected her appearance.

Anybody who smokes, I hope you are successful to stop, anybody who struggles, I wish the best for you. Coming from somebody who wasn't exactly addicted because I had it occasionally and whenever I felt like it and could go a few days without a cigarette. Despite all this, it still took me 6-7 weeks to mentally recover from the anxiety after I completely stopped and I very rarely felt like having a cigarette, but my body was so used to the nicotine hit and now I can feel my body changing back to normal and I'm breathing differently, however I didn't notice this when i used to smoke, I hope the best for anybody trying to quit, I'm with you 👍👍

People dont simply get cancer from tobacco, cancer has a rate on people 1:1 people who never been around tobacco in their life and people who smoke everyday. The water you drink or the fast food you may eat have a higher chance of giving you cancer than my tobacco

I never smoked but getting disappointed too often that smokers don't develop lung cancer. Meanwhile my mom has a different type of cancer not smoking related. She has to be exposed just secondhand smoke just like me. The only difference I do feel sorry for this woman because I feel like she's a good soul.

To prevent this happening wouldn't be easier to ban cigarettes altogether. People get addicted to smoking and selling them in shops makes it easy to do that. If there weren't available in the first place so many people's lives would be saved. Before someone judges my comment I can appreciate the difficulties to give up once you start it is a real challenge. It doesn't make sense to sell things that can deeply destroy the body.

I bet him I can smoke more cigarettes in a row than him!!! Lol.....yes yes smoking is bad, but get this both sides my grandparents smoked/still smoking and drinking daily whiskey or beer till after 90 years old!!!! Never cancers, never strokes, never heart attacks..... How long do u really want to live?? 90 is more than enough... Hell my grandpa is 94 years old, still smokes a pack per day and at least 1 bottle if whiskey, never tea or coffee or water, nothing but whiskey with pop and milk at supper or meal times, for over 60 years!!!! Perfect health, I still help him cut his own firewood, or fix his vehicles as he's a liitle slower or harder to bend over, but we do that half drunk with smokesin our mouths!!! He always says smokes whiskey makes him happy, he's 94 and perfect health , why quit???

As refreshing as your take on life is, what makes us happy isn’t always the litmus test of how we should live.
I can not find scripture to condemn smoking or drinking if they are truly in moderation but drunkards will have their part in the lake of fire which is clearly too high a price to pay for a brief amount of temporary happiness.

While vaping is better than cigarettes, it still releases carcinogens. Yes, in lower amounts than found in cigarettes, but it's always a risk and since it will take decades before we know what the long-term effects may be, it could end up harming a lot of people over time. Plus, the vaping industry is not regulated by the FDA so it hasn't been shone if any any of that shit is safe to put in your lungs multiple times a day for years on end. I'd say vaping is only a good choice for someone who simply cannot quit smoking or who doesn't want to but is scared about health problems. For everybody else, just taper down (easier) or go cold-turkey. I promise it gets so much easier after day 3 passes.

You have no idea why someone picked up a cig. You have no idea the pain or a perosn story. Smokers don’t need your sympathy. You hagw just as much of getting cancer from fast food , sugar and pop and bad air pollution than I do from smoking cigarettes. So get your head out of your ass and stop acting like smokers are devils. You think after years people like being addicted ? No . that’s why it’s an addiction. no ones looking for your sympathy. People smoke because they have no hope. Just like people eat , drink , and so drugs. You’re gonna die even if you don’t smoke. So don’t judge and shut the fuck up

Ammonia added to tobacco means you are free-basing nicotine. These commercials are testament to how crazy addictive ammonia makes the tobacco's nicotine. Too bad they weren't informed that they'd been punked! Free-basing nicotine and you didn't even know it!!! It's a crime against humanity to let the tobacco companies continue adding ammonia and not telling people about free-basing nicotine. The best hope is the nicotine nasal spray. It's effective and no hidden/secret ingredients. No carcinogens at all. Nicotine nasal spray hits the brain in the same way that free-basing nicotine does, FAST. The Nicotine Nasal spray is much easier to quit using than cigarettes. Because it has NO additives to make it more addictive. It works and will save lives.
Hey CDC--->change the wording of the Surgeon General's warning on cigarettes. INCLUDE the words "ammonia added for you to free-base the nicotine."
Showing us more commercials of people who died and couldn't figure out why they couldn't stop smoking does not help. Explaining to smokers they've been unknowingly free-basing nicotine is the only thing to do. Tell doctors and treatment providers about the added ammonia and free-basing nicotine, so they may adjust their perspective and treatment of patients.

I switched to vapeing because nicotine does not cause cancer but seems that a lot of ingredients in them do. So now i have quit everything.

I went to vaping, after smoking 37 years.
there's only nicotine, which is relatively safe. cigarettes are the hardest thing to quit !!! even though I'm getting nicotine, I still crave those nasty smelly cigarettes

Try using other things like nicotine gum and slowly work your way down from there. It's not you, it's your brain that's addicted to the nicotine

i have info. for y'all if your interested in trying to get people off the cigs...i found early on with my own experimentation a lot of issues came down to the [method/technique] of the individuals smoking habits...if you think about it, a LARGE amount of knowledge COULD be gathered from simply 1 moment of some1 who been toying with smokes, and some1 who dont NOT like smoking or smokers...if you were to study the 1st contact moment precautionary enough, you would find thet todays cigs at the gas station to a primitive/or farmer/or even a hippie...is something CRAZY, the first thing they will say is why are you smoking the crazy gas station 1's...and you simply need to observe the way they smoked it and make a joke/skit/different replacement action for them, sure they will look like a friggin manikin/automaton...but you may have saved their lives...
