Joh! That brings back memories of when I used to fish that coast extensively in the 70's. Strandfontein, swartklip, broken roads and macassar. Thanks for that 👍👍 moonshine was the only bait for belman at broken roads when the north wester blew.
I am previously from Langebaan. The closest you will get there is wonderworm or as some guys call it, shingleworm. I used to get them a bit further up the lagoon past kabeljouklip just before the rocky shoreline ends. They were quite plentifull then (80's)

Don't know if things have changed but belman was a very skelm fish. If you didn't use very light line with a long hook trace, you wouldn't be successful.
