- Showing my truck generator box I made and the setup I came up with. Works really well. A/c is Bauer 9,000 btu and generator iGen2500c. Also not shown I bout another box and a extended fuel kit from northern tool. I ended up selling the truck the same day so I didn’t get to finish it.

Now you can get good portable battery for 1000 that would silently run same set up. And charge it from inverter when driving

Make sure you get a radiator fan or something to help ventilation. That way your generator doesn’t shut off from carburetor smoke alert

I did all of this with my truck I have the same generator and similar air condition for all the time my generator was shutting down. How about you what BTU number is your AC?

I am wondering if you put the generator inside the box to protect it from the weather? Or to protect it from a thief? Will it be okay for it to sit out in the weather? With an appliance plugged in?.... Does the air conditioner keep your whole cab very nice and cool?
I put it for theft. Don’t won’t my truck smelling like gas after I use it. The weather don’t get to it the box is good protection. Also some ppl just open hood and chain it under their engine somewhere to the frame of truck. All depends on your preference. Both protect it. The air keeps the whole truck cool. I would suggest to leave truck on and running a/c full blast while hooking everything up. Turn on the portable ac and with 3-5min then turn off truck. Better than trying to fight 97 degrees instantly.
Could you avoid the portable AC unit and just plug into shore power and run truck AC constantly?

I like the air blowing straight on me direct where I sleep instead of on top bunk blowing away.

I hv a extended fuel tank so I can run it for 10hr reset just fine or more if needed
Hows it holding up?
No issues just had to adjust the space in the box with that ventilation fan so the sensor would kick off the generator from CO2 detection
Please where can I get the generator box
I will think you can get this at any chrome shop, you’ll have to customize it in order for it to work as a generator box, other options would be get an use APU box and mount it like it was the APU.
I got this box from northern tool or you can get it at any trailer shop. It’s a tool box or trailer box. Just get one big enough for your generator. Harbor freight tractor supply etc
U could it just go the cheaper route and just cut it yourself

Why you selling
High fuel low rates and too many breakdowns. Every week dpf problem. I ordered new truck and was trading this one is why I didn’t decide to delete it. Then prices of equipment sky rocket so just sold.
Why listen to someone who has no clue of what they doing ...guess if you never turn sharp it's ok...but normal people put it UNDER TRUCKS...
Yea this is for indoor use and when not using it’s secure with bungee cords. I see people get outdoor ac and cut hole in semi
You should've went with a diesel generator setup instead having junk sticking out the window and ac on the floor. Damm
