Can I make you guys a new title card for these that features both of your names on one graphic in a similar style to what you have on the separate ones you are currently combining? Free of charge.
One of my favorite parts of these videos is picking out what watch they're wearing. I love the manga G-Shock and I can't quite make out what Matt is wearing
I recall a time when Porsche had to put the price down on the 911 because buyers were saying the Turbo should not be above £100k. What the hell has happened to this world????
Lol... the livery discussion was something everyone was thinking but nobody's brought up. It looks dated in the worst way. This is an amazing video of an incredible vehicle. Thank you gentlemen!
I love these things, looks like so much fun. If I had the means, I would drive the heck out of one. All the time, all the weather, all the roads. Get it all white if you can, a real Rothmans livery wrap, paint protection film everywhere, and let the gravel fly.
I set up my CayenneS (air ride + electric rear diff options) in a similar manner. Will it still go 160+ MPH? Not for long. Is it as nimble on a slalom? No. Is it more comfortable and quieter on the highway with 20" all terrain tires, than the 21" summer tires? YES! Does it soak up the bumps and provide great grip on gravel, sand, and mud? YES! Can 4 have fun? Yep. Once I stop daily driving, it will get 33" or larger tires on a lift.
Matt, very well put, limited edition takes all the fun out of a great car that won’t get used. Such a same. Also if possible, I’d like to hear your thoughts today after building & owning your safari build. What you liked, what you didn’t, what it was like to live with etc. It was quickly brought up on this one take, more please.
I would LOVE if they made a C2S Dakar pack, that’d be brilliant. Also, I like the livery but yeah a bit OTT. The take off in the dirt is super hot though
What a BS opinion dude! "Dakar" means Rally-stage, which of course means AWD! Do you really think, that Porsche would hurt its philosophy all about the 911 Dakar just for satisfying some strange tasteless freaks with an only rear wheel drive 911 Carrera 2 "Dakar light" for "fast and furious" showing off clowns for "having fun with oversteer orgies"?? You really know NOTHING about Porsche, dude!
I mean i just think the buckets seats really make no sense other than looking cooll If it had comfort seats it would actually be an awesome daily driver imo
I know that cars like this, the S/T, the Sport Classic are 20% to reward the most loyal customers and 80% to boost brand prestige, but I just have such a hard time caring about them. It looks like it would be fun as hell to thrash on a fire road - but so would a G-Body Safari build or even the Safari 991.2 Carrera T that recently listed on BaT ... and I wouldn't feel the same level of ick owning it.
The car is the perfect car to explore old twisty back roads were you never know were pothole or speed bump going unsettling you mid corner with added bonus if road goes to dirt you can then hammer down
Porsche is doing the Lambo scam where they change a few superficial things on a platform and create a limited edition cash cow. I remember when they came out with the 959 and blew everyone's mind, adapting multiple never before seen technologies on a road car and creating the first multi terrain supercar. It won the Paris Dakar and was one of the fastest road cars for nearly a decade. This car is cool, but a lame callback(the decals and general theme) to a generational legend that deserves a befitting homage.
That clitoris-themed shifter apparatus is rather underwhelming. The car kicks ass. Thinking of doing something similar to my 1 series E82 coz my neck of the woods fully justifies this sort of treatment.
Saw one driving like a bat out of hell around rt 64 in Florida, near the Freedom Factory in Bradenton. I have to say looked pretty cool but also dumb at the same time. iIt was gray with a big 19 on the side and plastic containers on the roof rack, like he was delivering DoorDash in his sports car lol
I have one and it's good on the road. I live in Miami and the roads are kinda bad and it floods sometimes it rains. The no ceramics thing is kinda annoying because I like having ceramic brakes just because they don't make a mess. My only gripe with it is I didn't get the lane change assist, maybe that wasn't an option but I like the thing that flashes if a car is one lane over? Did I just screw up my spec or was that not offered? Also being used to driving GT3RSs and Turbos Ss and Ferraris and stuff this feels kinda slow, I realize there is a reason they picked that power package for the car but I donno, maybe the gearing should be different or something. But yeah overall this is probably a better city car than most 911s and it's a shame it's a limited model. I'm really impressed the tires aren't loud, like they are not annoying at all. I didn't put all that roof rack stuff on it or the decals, and I'm glad because I'd really feel like a clown driving that around.. and I'm already kind of a clown.
You really think someone will take out a $300K plus car out in winter ? I’ve only seen one out on the road in Beverly Hills & probably won’t see one again.
I like the 911 Dakar a lot. However, even with the hydraulic lift system that'll increase the ground clearance to 7.5 inches (19cm), that's 3cm too low. I wish it could lift up to 22cm.
i wonder if there'll be any aftermarket solution to lift a 992 and add smaller wheels with thicker tires. I think that would allow use to drive the 911 faster on bumpier road with confidence.
I would watch the video from Morocco if it was linked in the description.. That would bring a lot more views if it was just a click (hate to say it) I'm a truck driver and it's a lot safer to click on a link than have to type in 8 or so words in the search bar and then sort through RUclips's terrible search suggestions
Honestly what’s the real difference between this and a Cayenne GTS. The Cayenne will undoubtedly be a better off-roader and still handle spectacularly on the tarmac for 1/2 the price. What does the Dakar bring over a performance Cayenne with dual locking diffs and better clearance?
I saw a dude driving one of these the other day while I was out for a run and I physically couldn’t stop myself giving the guy the thumbs up for buying it. A genuinely cool car and pretty useful in our climate.
you're a numpty if you think this car will last more than a couple hundred miles off-road. it's a joke. every single thing under the car will be shredded by rocks and debris. I have a 1987 911 that I turned into a "safari" style car. It has full skid plates and at least twice the ground clearance of this thing. and by all accounts, is a much more durable package than any new 911. ...and certainly a higher level build than most Safaris you see out there, including Matt's "poser" rally car. After only 3 years of driving fire roads and mountain roads in the Big Horns, almost every single component underneath the car needs replaced. the exhaust, the spherical bearings, wheel bearings, steering rack and boots, the struts/rear shocks, oil lines, oil coolers, almost all the body panel edges, ect...it's thrashed. I've put 4500 miles on it since building it...and now it needs about 75K worth of parts. Porsche 911's should stay on the pavement. that's what they are designed for. Comparing this to a Raptor (which is built like a HD truck) is just peak ignorance.
Make sure to head over to bit.ly/TheSmokingTireMOVA and use code SMOKINGTIRE for a special TST discount on all 6" and 8" globes!
comparing this to a Raptor is just silly...

Zack's GShock is 🔥
One of my favorite parts of these videos is picking out what watch they're wearing. I love the manga G-Shock and I can't quite make out what Matt is wearing
Really need to pick up the white Manga
I noticed 😊
What’s even nicer is that they looked at it on the podcast one episode, and then a few episodes later Matt revealed that he had bought it for Zack.
What model gshock is that?
That dirt launch is pretty boss lol, great idea
That launch off the dirt was amazing!
Matt is spot on about the limited edition aspect.
Agree, those globes are choice
Also on the livery colors not being a good fit.
Your final assessment is spot on!
My buddy got one at MSRP, he drives it all the time. I was in his home state/city earlier this year and got to go for a ride in his. Epic stuff
Well that’s on purpose. It’s Rothmans livery, but they can’t use the name Rothmans anymore due to no more tobacco names allowed
I love reviews on cars that are impossible to buy
Finally Zack dakar
zakart

I would have liked the air ride for my Macan. Otherwise, same here. And honestly l, having 4 doors is really good 90% of the time
Matt, very well put, limited edition takes all the fun out of a great car that won’t get used. Such a same.

I love you guys, thank you for making my weekdays bearable with the pod 😁
This is my favorite 911,just perfect for exploring new zealand back country roads😊
So great to share Matt and Zak's flipper schadenfreude.

Great Vid Chaps !
Dakar option package with manual transmission 🤘😎
Great vid guys
Love the G-shock, Zach
The car is the perfect car to explore old twisty back roads were you never know were pothole or speed bump going unsettling you mid corner with added bonus if road goes to dirt you can then hammer down
Nice to Zacks watch
Great video
what a great car for California Driven on or off roads even has steel breaks for the streets😎👍
Yo thanks for the pic at the course today! Lol
Love it with exactly the reservations you have… fun but dumb paint/decal set, completely unnecessary sales volume limit.

I think they should do a 'cup' version of this with Motorsport parts for rallying.
Spiderman unlicensed hahaha
Damn I miss one take with street tuned people cars... bring it back 😁
That clitoris-themed shifter apparatus is rather underwhelming. The car kicks ass. Thinking of doing something similar to my 1 series E82 coz my neck of the woods fully justifies this sort of treatment.
They need to make a runout special Targa version

That G-Shock is HOT.
Can’t wait to take this to its limits
Snow!

then pennywise livery for you my friend!
Title should be “Why fastest isn’t always bestest”
the perfect and only 911 for dallas roads.
yeah mine was pretty fun here in dallas
Someone needs to review this car in snow. Ultimate NorthEast winter car.
You really think someone will take out a $300K plus car out in winter ? I’ve only seen one out on the road in Beverly Hills & probably won’t see one again.
I would drive 💯%🤙🏼
thanks guys, I didn't win but I won with a great channel
The best driving 911 that at $350.000 and future collectors value is too expensive to drive
good vid. more front facing camera angle please.
I like the 911 Dakar a lot. However, even with the hydraulic lift system that'll increase the ground clearance to 7.5 inches (19cm), that's 3cm too low. I wish it could lift up to 22cm.
They keep bringing up that raptor. Will the porsche pull a boat ?
Great car, but it’s the Sterrato for me!
Should compare this 911 to the Brabus G wagon not a Raptor .
i wonder if there'll be any aftermarket solution to lift a 992 and add smaller wheels with thicker tires. I think that would allow use to drive the 911 faster on bumpier road with confidence.
Love it!
Great video, thanks!
“If you’re rich, please lose money on this” ❤
this is entirely in line with your previous praise of offroader 911s
now if only they made one without turbocharging...
I would love to drive the AlCan highway in this
Porsche has learned a different lesson - charge all the money and pocket flipper's money.
Oh come, all Rall-ye faithful.
How about I put together and market the package as an aftermarket solution?
I would watch the video from Morocco if it was linked in the description.. Finally saw one on the pike in Boston, such great looks.
Can I get it in Yellow with Buzzin Hornets instead?
Honestly what’s the real difference between this and a Cayenne GTS. The Cayenne will undoubtedly be a better off-roader and still handle spectacularly on the tarmac for 1/2 the price.
What does the Dakar bring over a performance Cayenne with dual locking diffs and better clearance?
Will they shoot the flippers in the flipper?
Always opt for sport sheeps, Zack. Always. The regular sheeps, they'll just put you to sleep.
Matt is getting the lazy old man/teenager vocal grind.
ceramic discs would just get damaged to hell here if the car was used off road at all
Totally disagree w yall on the liveries. Think it is a wonderful call back, and fun to be a factory option.
Its a Porsche, off course its great
You may want to visit Dirt Fish Rally School.
Porsche 911 Da-car
With the ZR1 now at over 1000hp, where does that leave the Zora ... hmm ... a flat plane crank hybrid AWD off-roader?? Take my deposit, please!!!
if youre rich and you want to flex with a car like this driving it the way it was supossed to be driven is the way to flex
Arachnid boy 😂
I saw a dude driving one of these the other day while I was out for a run and I physically couldn’t stop myself giving the guy the thumbs up for buying it. A genuinely cool car and pretty useful in our climate.
Matt always low-key complaining that not enough people watch a given video…😂
Big meaty tires
I'm here
You guys are rubbing elbows, can’t beat comfortable.
It's so weird to me that they spec the car with buckets.
Püh Shahhh Dakahhh
If the beat on road car is an off road car u might need better roads😂
so its 350k to buy...couldn't you get a gts and build out the suspension and other bits for much less money?
@TheS.mokingTire 🔥
Porsche: We're only building 2500 of these in total. Also Porsche: We're going to build 27,000 Macan, this year.
As an options pack yes, I like the look but get rid of the wording.
*Bestest
What 5 % ? 5 people will take it off-road?
Why would you put the word "still" in the title if it's less than 18 months old?
Lol none of these but this press car are going off road
😎💪🏁
Clueless journalist that knows nothing about cars 😮
A 2500 car limit for a limited edition is pretty much a joke.
When you absolutly want to be the coolest Dad at the kid's birthday party
most people wont even drive this car 5 percent of ownership
What's "5% of ownership" mean?
No owners at all will drive these cars at all haha, immediately in a collection
you're a numpty if you think this car will last more than a couple hundred miles off-road. it's a joke.
every single thing under the car will be shredded by rocks and debris.

The worst flippers in the world are US Porsche dealers...they are the fuel that feeds the flippers.
