Great full sound.
Thanks!
Hello Italo. Baba Louie here. Remember, from TGP? I left that place when you left. Instead of spending my time there, I spend it playing. Much better.
Love this playing here. And the sounds. Btw, I got my old H-3000S back from a friend I loaned it to 15 years ago. I can’t believe what I was missing.
Hope everything is well for you. 😊
Also: check out the new release by Genevieve Artadi. Louis Cole on drums, and a fantastic guitar player. It’s like prog meets shoe gaze/Cocteau meets Holdsworth meets Kate Bush meets Missing Persons. She has some videos here on the tube, check out Visionary.
I think you’ll like it.
@zenlandzipline Man!!! BABA!!!! Fantastic news you are here! How are you? I wholeheartedly share your choice and thinking about those days. It was too much time lost explaining things to people who mostly had little interest in learning and poor ears in judging. So... the H3000 is back... after 15 YEARS!!! That must have been like prison, Baba but I'm glad you're "out" now and enjoying its sounds of glory! I'll check your suggestions out and will tell you. Cool.... BABA is back!!!!
@@italoop7850 I made a great penpal with a guy named JayKay. You remember him. We text every day almost. I haven’t spoken with Ryan in about a year. I think he’s doing ok though.
I’d like to trade my H-3000 for an Eclipse. I know H-3000 has “that sound” but the space savings with an Eclipse would suit me better.
I still have my 81 and my 1210. They will be buried with me.
@@zenlandzipline H3000 is CRAZY expensive these days! You may get well at selling it and getting an Eclipse.
Sounds incredible. Sounds really, really expensive.
Why would be that expensive? I mentioned having the "Oblivion" available in 3 variations in my library. It only takes a single PCM80 or 81 to do this. I added the 42s because of their particular tone but anything else could be used IF desired. The "Oblivion" efx can be done with a single PCM80 or 81. Actually it would be VERY expensive if you tried to do this with pedals!
Great as always... can you tell me about the tone comparison of PCM 42s and Prime time ii? I am considering to buy PT2 or SPT. Thanks.
Those are ALL fantastic delays, Prime Times and PCM42s. Prime Times can sound a bit brighter as they have a wider frequency bandwidth than PCMs. Still they're all amazing. PCMs hava a way to create space very unique to them. And they are more friendly to operate than PTs.
@italoop7850 Thank you for the clear explanation! Yes.. PT looks daunting to me.. haha. So pcm 42s are the optimal vintage units for guitarists...thank you so much
Are you saying to do this you need 4 PCM 80s?!?
probably just one, it can do multifx
Nope! Just one. The image is pretty self explanatory. If you really want to understand what a PCM80 can do I suggest you download its manual and take a look at any algorithm signal flow. It would be a very interesting learning.
Try this: synthmanuals.com/manuals/lexicon/pcm80/owners_manual_english/pcm80_user_guide_rev1_original.pdf
What mixer are you using?
Hey Clifton. I'm using a desktop Mackie 1642 VLZ Pro mixer.
@@italoop7850 awesome! I just recently got the latest version of the Ashly 308B. I have a Rane splitter for live routing or the aux sends from my Apollo 8P for studio. Now I can run my lexicons and Eventides at full line lol
@@cliftonwright7081 Cool! That's when ALL the required voltage is actually used and tone becomes ***>>>TONE
@@italoop7850 hahaha glorious
@@cliftonwright7081 Truth, honest truth is always glorious! 🎯🎯🎯
I liked the tune. the piano reminded me of an Acoustic Alchemy song called Little Laughter. The first few bars on the guitar (up to the 50 second mark and beyond) had this great Tremolo sound. Subtle but sweet. What was the rest of the guitar chain comprised of? The tone was great.
Thanks J! You ARE a very good listener! I was trying to add those B harmonics in a very subtle way and stack them on the synth drone. It's actually a good place in the tune to hear what the special envelope of the Oblivion EFX sounds like... 'cuz of the free space before all the instruments come in. Guitar is a Warmoth Strat with Radioshop "Chris Buck" pickups. It feeds an OLD BUT GOLD original 1980's TC Sustain+Parametric EQ pedal > Joyo King of Kings dual overdrive, a cheap fantastic chinese pedal I included in my collection. All of this goes to a 1990s Tech21 Sansamp PSA-1 preamp where my signal is finely tweaked for gain and eq and leaves the place at full line level on balanced connections to my Mackie.
Audio interface from the analog mixer to DAW is an Eventide H8000FW, used as A/D converter for its amazing analog preamps... digitalized and moved on thru FireWire.
This reminded me of the guitarist Vinnie Moore and his track "Rain" from his album The Maze ruclips.net/video/sZISX8VfhOo/видео.html
@@EgoShredder I don't see any relationship with the tune you link to. Technically speaking delays here are used in a completely different way, including reverb post-processing.
@@italoop7850 It's the general style, chords used, half overdriven cleaner guitar soloing near the end of your example etc. Not a clone just has elements that are similar.
@@EgoShredder There are MILLIONS of tunes that can be similar in some aspects... but trust me...Moore for me is not even a possibility. Kind of pointless....
