I'm a big baseball fan but have never followed the draft closely. This helped get me interested more and I'll be paying close attention to what my Twins spend at Pick 8
Lofi hip hop- beats to scout/draft to Great overview vid, great editing. One question I have is about which regions are over/under drafted. Most players come from California, Arizona, Florida, Texas, or Georgia. To what extent is that circular, where having drafted from there successfully before, teams aren’t incentivized to scout regions that haven’t produced draft picks? Therefore more draft picks come from the same places and the process repeats. How many great players are in Guam or Iowa (or Millville, New Jersey) but never get seen?
Long time Pod listener and NCAC ball player. Love you guys and will watch every video. I was actually wondering what happened to all the ringer baseball podcasts?
MLB needs to have an international draft like hockey and basketball do or scrap the whole thing. I know that teams have their academies in Latin America that make this a challenge. They need to figure this out. This would benefit competitive balance and likely bring baseball back as a top sport like they used to be. Enjoyed the video and the information
At 8:07 in the case of Henry Davis for example, if you pick him, but then can't get him to agree to the reduced money, what happens? Are you obliged to pay the slot price? If so why would a player not push for that?
Yes my friend Albert Pujols and Bryce harper are some good examples that come to mind both JUCO it’s all about how talented the player is plenty of great players out there on horrible teams
You know how pissed I'd be if I was pick 37 or even pick 64 and the guy who was picked 72nd gets more money than either of them. I mean if I was one of those players that would be a good sign that I should go somewhere else in free agency. Like idk if I would even consider an offer from a team that did that to me, I'd tell them just save the money and give it to Bubba just like you did in the draft. I'm sure that happens alot but for me it seems like those guys should have been picked higher or should have had a better agent. But yea I'd be looking to move asap and probably would be looking for another agent also
They don’t have to declare if u are 18 and have graduated u are automatically eligible and a team can pick u same goes for college players that have completed their junior year
Can a player reject being drafted and go to college. Saw on this Yeats draft a few players had been previously drafted by other teams. Also If a player gets drafted in HS does the team have any educational obligations to those players.
If a Player whether it’s a High School or College Player can Refuse to Sign a Contract with the Team that Drafts them. However, that Player is Not a Free Agent and would be Subject to the Draft Rules in the future. If the MLB team Offers the Drafted Player Selected in 1st Round Only that has participated in the Pre-Draft review process at least 70% of their Slotted Bonus Money, then that Team will receive an additional Draft Pick in the following year’s Draft if the Player is Unsigned. *See the story about the METS Not Signing Kumar Rocker their 1st Round #10 Pick in the 2021 MLB Draft and How they received the #11 Pick in the 1st Rd 2022 Draft.
I've always considered myself a fan of baseball but never understood the draft, this video helped a lot. A++

How does it work for a player who gets drafted? Do they agree on a contract after? Do they have to sign with that team? I don’t get it

MLB will never beat the nfl
@@MarvelMadness2003 Yes, everyone knows that.
@@scsmith4604 MLB is dying. Baseball is fizzling out.
Plenty of international players in the draft tho
Major League Baseball making something unnecessarily convoluted and confusing? No way!
Great channel!! I love the video
Thank you for this. {Angelo voice}

Good work guys!

If you get drafted out of college how does single double and triple a work? Is it js a lower league than the mlb?
Can you get drafted from any college? No matter the size or how good the team is?

simply phenomenal stuff
What about draft rites? Once drafted how long does that team hold his rites?
How does recruiting/drafting from South of the border or Puerto Rico or Japan work?
Great video.
Can a juco player that is with a student visa can get drafted?

Is there a place to sign up?

very cool
How did angels draft ohtani ?? I wanna know😂
I heard that starting next year because of the MLB CBA they’re implementing a slightly different draft system any idea that is going to work?
I can see why the mob draft isn’t closely followed at all, almost feels like it’s worthless
Feels like MLB goes out of his way to make things difficult and uninteresting lol
anyone knows the song title at 7:22?
Not really related to the vid but at most how far do you think druw Jones will fall
He won’t fall past pick 3
THANK YOU, I was so fucking confused
