Sorry that assholes ruined you being new to the game, Metroidvania type games are the worst when it comes to backseating because everyone thinks they know how you want to play the game and try to force you to get things they missed.

I don't know why chat was freaking out and telling him to go back and get the 'good ending'... If he listened to them he would have been locked out of getting this ending. You're supposed to do this one first and it's the natural progression for most players.

It's so embarrassing to see how much backseating you had to deal with. I'm not sure why, but Hollow Knight is one of those games that stream chats just fundamentally refuse to stop spoiling things in. I hope it didn't ruin your experience too heavily, and I'm glad you enjoyed playing one of my favorite games!

@@maxlizana681 He saw the lore video after this stream, I believe, because it was after her beat THK already that he watched it. He certainly didn’t explore everything before watching it, but he still technically beat the game. Regardless though, even if he watched a lore video before completing a lot of the game that doesn’t excuse backseating or spoilers in chat. It should be HIS decision to spoil himself, not chats.

@@parslie9577 Nono, backseating is awful. The thing I'm saying is Pointcrow don't seem to care too much about the game. I love HK, but I think this guy just doesn't like it as much as the community does.
@@maxlizana681 Someone who just discovered the game _obviously_ isn’t going to have an equal passion for it as a community of people who have 112%’d it, discussed the lore in depth, know the best charm builds, know intimate game details, etc. Frankly I didn’t truly realize how much I enjoyed the game until I was 40+ hours in and utterly confused as to who the hell the dreamers were.
_Even if_ if he didn’t have as much of a passion for the game as the rest of the community, so what? People can be casual players, that’s allowed too. People can love games superficially, you don’t have to know every detail of something to be a “true fan” of it. Expecting an entry level of enthusiasm from someone when they’ve only just discovered a new community isn’t leaving room for people to build that love for it in the first place.
You have to remember that Eric is a streamer, he has to consider the entertainment value at times. He can’t always endlessly walk through Hallownest, he sometimes has to focus on more “exciting” things like jumping from boss to boss or going directly to important lore points. It’s certainly a different way of playing, and it can come across as though he doesn’t care as much, but it’s just an unfortunate side effect of stream. It certainly doesn’t mean he didn’t take the game seriously.
At least to me, it seemed like he genuinely enjoyed playing. Yeah, it definitely seemed like it was a game he wasn’t familiar with, something out of his comfort zone, not something he would normally play. It seemed to me like a situation where he started out hesitant and mostly enjoying the game due to chat’s banter, but slowly morphed into genuine enjoyment and love for the game and community as a whole. He literally said multiple times that he craved playing it, and there were a couple streams where mid stream he decided to play HK instead of the scheduled game he was playing at the time.
(sorry this is long, i have a lot of thoughts and i’m horrible at summarizing)

@@deathring7339 I would argue the statues were a good clue, if you have been using abyss shriek and know what the spell looks like. You may be tempted to use the spell in the room just to see a comparison.

I would say it's a sequel, mainly because hornet doesn't use any of her tools except the spike-ball-things in her fights

saving cloth isnt actually good, she doesnt get to achieve her dream of dying in an epic battle and then meeting her loved one in the afterlife
@@samthebudiman. You dont know if she meets her loved one in the afterlife, I guess its up to the player to finish her story in their own way
The morality of the two Cloth endings is very ambiguous, same with the morality of dreamnailing ghosts. So many unanswered important questions: is there an afterlife, is it good or bad, are the ghosts actual concious entities or basically just holograms based on dead people? Stuff like that

Eric talking about KND lore made me want to rewatch Steven Universe and Adventure Time, I never finished either and only watched them as a y o u n g t e e n
I used to like the early episodes of adventure time and i always HATED Steven universe as a kid
casual suggestion about the schedule issue, maybe do some kind of vague weekly schedule post but just for the youtube community page? not anything that commits you to specific content, but smth general like
monday - wednesday = gaming
thursday = just chatting / cooking/ whatever
sundays = subreddit sunday + whatever we decide
that way people KNOW you’re streaming, know what days certain kinds of content is being streamed without it being so “oh i’m only interested in my favorite game” but it’s still more specific than just being like hey i’m streaming so it won’t really get annoying to keep posting it every week. just an idea though, maybe this’ll help even a little bit.
note: formatting wise you wouldn’t actually do monday - wednesday (since obviously most days would be gaming) you’d probably format them like your old schedules used to look just bc it looks better that’s literally the entire reason

The backseating was infuriating, I also see it in the FFXIV fandom and I'm ashamed to admit that I may have done it before, but this has made me realize that I should be more careful and thoughtful about what I imply or giving unsolicited tips in chat.
Anyhow, I don't really think any endings are "bad" endings aside from maybe the godmaster ending without pale flower, but they're all so vague that you can make your own assumptions and theories about what happens next. I dislike how people have been categorizing endings as "good" or "bad" when they're not meant to be. Just look at The Witch's House, both endings are "bad" endings when you try to categorize them, thus people refer to them as the normal ending, and the truth ending.

Hey crow (I don’t think you’ll see this but I’ll say it anyway) my best charm setup is unbreakable strength, mark of pride, quick slash, sharp shadow.
It’s great damage wise but you do what you want.
Also there are charm noches you can find in the world as well as salubra (the charm seller).
Look at his notches and charms. I don’t think he can pull that off

@@gnomeboi2193 sharp shadow sucks cause it can mess with platforming and it only does your current nail damage. That would be good if it wasnt for thr fact that shadow dash takes around a second or more to regenerate and it take 2 notches which could be better used of a charm like shape of unn or 2 1 notch charms

14:18 *sigh*... I like Skurry and respect his 45-hour bird-massacre grindfest but I hate that it has somehow caused way too many people to think that's what "Low%" is.
Low% = one of the main speedrun categories, albeit sadly the least active of those. Not much longer run than Any%, with a sub-44-minute world record. Does not involve essence in any way.
Low% True Ending = a masochistic challenge/meme run that requires many dozens of hours (obviously not done in one sitting) of mind-numbing RNG essence grinding.
