I love how this comment section is people having their messages deleted for spoiling the game to pcrow, getting mad, and coming here to complain because they can't do it on Twitch. It's funny to see how many viewers just can't imagine someone missing one or two things for the sake of discovering the game themselves and for keeping intact the joy of exploring. Just let him play the goddamn game guys.

Yeah, like I knew of the lore when I started playing, but I did watch gameplay on a lot of the bosses. I legit tried figting the jellyfish boss not knowing about Quirrel, which made it that much more hype when he appears
It makes me abit mad when he hits a breakable wall once then turns around and walls the other way
The fact that he only tapped the jump button instead of holding it made me question how he managed to do anything.

Chat counting at Path of Pain was one of the best parts of stream
i'm not really sure if this is the right place to right this, i don't even know if you or your mods are gonna see this, but you seem to have a lot of problems with people in chat asking the same thing over and over again (botw, charms, bosses, backseating, etc etc) I have seen it done in smaller streams, where the streamer/mods would add a command, and chat would just spam the command when the question is asked. Usually people would just stfu and not ask any further questions.
I'm sorry if it seems like I want to tell you how to stream, and even more sorry if people keep telling you to add commands!!

Hollow Knight is one of the best indie games out there. Maybe one of the best games out there. It has so much lore and so much to do. And it has so many fun and interesting bosses, my favorite would be Mantis Lords. Hollow Knight also has an amazing soundtrack. Yee shaw, this is the end of the comment.
Definitely it is certainly a magnificent game
Fun fact: when I did White Palace, I was using a faulty controller that sometimes thought the dash button was being pressed when it really wasnt

Radiance is a cool boss and a hard one, tho if you come in a day with a calm mind ya can beat it pretty easily.
I remember struggling so hard for like 2 hours, then i went and had lunch, like one of the best sandwiches I've ever had, and then did the boss first try

something i find most entertaining about watching someone play a game that i've sunk too many hours into is seeing where they make the same mistakes as me vs where they pick up on things right away
a little frustrating sometimes, but entertaining still
I'm not defending chat in any way but I think the reason they are asking the same question over and over again is because they have no way of knowing if you saw it or not I think most of the time it's not them trying to be annoying but I understand no back seating. it is annoying but that's just what I think.
I've watched so many speedrunners do White Palace that I forgot how long it is without skips.

At 2:35:50 when he's saying to treat it like TV, that's the reason why I watch the vods. My internet, even on PC, would eventually lag too much and chat would spoil me things or I would not understand jokes, even if I was just having it as background noise, I would get distracted by chat.
These vods let me watch it all no problems but yes, the backseating is really a problem in this video

Soul master isnt that big of a difficulty jump. He was fairly easy for me

It's honestly kind of annoying how he just tells off chat for trying to actually give him advice. I get not wanting people to tell him what to do like when chat was spamming for him to crystal dash or similar, but he's also barring genuine advice, like how he could get soul by hitting enemies with the dream or the existence of the Hive and how useful the hiveblood charm would have been in the white palace.

You know, when someone says there favorite tracks from hollow knight and only say things like mantis lords and the hollow knight, all I can think is... SO YOU DIDN'T GET 112%!!!!
I don't have favourite tracks (too many good ones to choose from), but I generally don't like the Godhome stuff that much because it's just a bit overwhelming (except PV, that one is real nice), I listen to them only when I feel like being extra dramatic.
But in general, those two (with BV, TMG and GPZ) are all really up there for me (obviously not including are themes).
Personally, I like Sisters of Battle, but Mantis Lord is really good. I don't have 112% yet, but I will soon

I also notice whenever he brings up people spoiling/helping or “elpers” it just causes more people to annoying spam chat with the “no elppers” I wonder if just not calling attention to it at all and just having he mods just ban them with out making a deal out of it he would have less of it because that ultimately what they want is some attention/recognition from the streamer or chat that being said I have very little if any experience in live stream chats I tend to just stick to vods so it might be different in some way also he seems to negatively interact with his chat quite a bit. I’m quite willing to be corrected/explained to how this does or does not work

Crow im not sure if you know this, but if you keep trying to add a charm that takes up too many notches, you can "overcharm". You take double damage, but you can have more charm value! :)

I was looking at the chat and notice someone say "yes its basically 2d dark souls". I am sick and tired of people comparing not just hollow knight but other games to dark souls. Hollow Knight shouldn't be titled as just a 2d dark souls. And even though it uses the concept of coming back to get your currency after death and enviromental story telling (which all metroidvanias do) its not just a 2d one. So stop calling it that!!!
People just compare things to what they're familiar with. Yeah, Hollow Knight is so much more than "2D Dark Souls", but it's a comparable enough experience that you can use it as a reference point when introducing it to someone
We should start referring to Dark Souls as "3D Hollow Knight"

Literally this man has created an awful gaslighting environment. Theres nothing chat is allowed to say. They cant discuss the game because everything is possible help or backseating. They cant ask where he is or whats going on because its seen as backseating or god forbid crow has seen that comment before. They cant ask about his setup because they should be enjoying the game. They are supposed to laugh if he dies but sometimes he gets mad about that too. They cant mention what hes famous for or they get cussed out and called children. He says he wants new viewers then creates an impossible environment to join without fatal missteps. Its not fun to watch and i cant imagine its fun to be there. Im looking for new people to watch because this has gotten ridiculous and disgusting.
I'm surprised this is the only comment on it. I get the backseating thing, most people don't want other people telling them what to do, but I don't get why he tries to control chat so much. He may as well program chat bots if he just wants them to all emote and say the same thing. It's fun when he interacts with chat and joins conversations, but he's been just scolding chat for everything lately, including apparently having conversations.
Now, all of that said, he's taking a break from streaming, and I assume that's why - just a bad headspace for interacting with people this way, as much as he does. Hopefully his head will be in a better place after the break

Why am I so much better at hollow knight than a lot of adult steamers. I mean I got 112% and more in the game in my former age which was 12, yet others cant. I don't know, I just thought if you were older, you would have more gaming wisdom. But I guess most people are just used to the 3d story focused games besides 2d metroidvanias. Hopefully Metroid Dread can change that. And im not kidding when I say I did everything in the game besides doing markoth and radiance on radiant mode and doing bindings on pantheon 5 and getting the withered mask.

Your somewhat sad #humblebrag aside, streamers have their attention wildly split between playing the game, talking, actually being entertaining, and occasionally reading chat, so as a general rule streamers play much worse than they could if they were paying full attention to the game.
