totally, Percy was just as salty (pun intended) as Luke, only he managed to overcome his feelings. Luke has had years and years of pent up rage towards his father and most of it was not knowing who he was and for leaving
@@cutewolf360 actually Luke knew Hermès was his dad since he was a child, but mainly because it was in his mother’s mad ramblings- her insanity was also the gods’ fault, and he blamed Hermès for it (it was Apollo’s fault) and also met an Apollo kid that the man had cursed to live a tortuous existence, forced to lure children to horrific deaths, know it was his fault, and only being able to eat what supplies the kids had on them (this was also Apollo’s fault). A lot of Luke’s trauma can actually be blamed on Apollo.
Luke's scene always makes me cry but after listening to this for like the billionth time I realized something. So you know how Luke said "Tough last day?" Well I was like that sounds familiar and then it clicked. When Percy and Luke met, Luke said "Tough first day?" And I was like- .........wOoOoAh
Some people listening to the song may think luke is really bad and they get mad about it, I thought the same when I read the first book, but just wait until the last book
I kind of saw Luke's betrayal coming when I read the books for the first time. I mean, there's always this person who's really nice to the protagonist without a good reason;they're usually the second nice person the protagonist meats, because the first is their best friend. And that nice person, often a little older, always either dies or betrays the protagonist. So yeah.

K N maybe how Zeus turned Thalia into a tree, part of the reason being to remind Grover how much of a failure he was. He sings about it in The Tree on the Hill
I'm not a huge fan of the musical but the books are my childhood and still mean a lot to me, so hearing Luke's part, also loving Good Kid, makes me choke up. Luke was right and he was a kid hurt and manipulated and he just wanted to be seen. It really hurts me how the Gods just didn't give a shit about their kids and used them as pawns.
As a fan of the books, I have a love/hate relationship with this musical. I love the songs. Hate that Percy and Annabeth are teens and not 12 year olds
Well the characters are 12 but with a musical it's like..8 shows a week(if I'm hearing right) and having actors with that schedule and at an accurate age the actors couldn't have time for school and stuff like that
There are well received musicals with lead actors that are twelve. It's just that there is usually a group of lead adult actors to guide them. Examples include: Annie, Matilda, and Billy Elliot. In all three musicals it's a very young lead actor with some very young supporting actors, but usually there's like four alternates that rotate through the 8 show week.
I haven't seen the musical or the movie or read the books so I might sound stupid but oh well. So I don't understand how Percy didn't know Luke was the traitor, didn't he see/hear him in his dream?
He felt the voice sounded familiar, but he didn't recognize it. Only when Luke revealed his true colours at the end did Percy realize why his voice sounded so familiar.
i love it how luke says "the oracle warned you 'betrayed by a friend'" with no hint of remorse or regret. it really brought out his villain side

I always cry when I hear this song
Anyone else?
Ahh this is my fav song in the whole soundtrack
Luke's scene always makes me cry but after listening to this for like the billionth time I realized something. So you know how Luke said "Tough last day?" Well I was like that sounds familiar and then it clicked. When Percy and Luke met, Luke said "Tough first day?" And I was like- .........wOoOoAh
Gotta love Luke's part
Some people listening to the song may think luke is really bad and they get mad about it, I thought the same when I read the first book, but just wait until the last book
At the end of the series around the fourth book I felt bad for the kid. The only thing he wanted was to be loved by his father.
So yeah.

when the song starts to get slower you know shit's about to go down
I just made a lil' random parody. Don't mind meeee....
[MAIN CHARACTER]
What do you do when the party's ended?
What do you do when the battle's won?
So many questions left unanswered
So many things still left undone
What do you do
When it's up to you to choose:
Has something ended or begun?
Stay or go? Pick one
Do I stay in the past because it's happier?
Back to the memories I left behind?
I could stay back then for a piece of the nostalgia,
But what about peace of mind?
Ugh! What's my deal?
Why do I feel
There's something left I still
Need to find?
Where do you go when it's over?
MAIN CHARACTER & ENSEMBLE
What do you do when you're debating
The past and the present?
MAIN CHARACTER (spoken)
How come I don't just look ahead? Well.
I've tried. I couldn't deal with the stress,
and I felt life couldn't deal with me. It was just asking for trouble.
SHOULDER ANGEL (spoken)
Sometimes family is worth the trouble. Believe me.
MAIN CHARACTER (spoken)
I guess I've got a choice to make, Mister perfect.
ALL
Where do you go when it's over?
What do you when you're debating
The past and the present?
MAIN CHARACTER(spoken)
Hey, Future!
THE FUTURE [PERSONIFIED] (spoken)
I've barely seen you for a while. You avoiding me?
MAIN CHARACTER (spoken)
Not at all.
FUTURE [PERSONIFIED] (spoken)
Tough day?
MAIH CHARACTER(spoken)
I thought when I grew up, everything would make sense.
But it doesn't. It's the end of my childhood, but I don't feel like anything's over.
FUTURE [PERSONIFIED] : I get it.
MAIN CHARACTER [CORRUPT] (spoken)
Maturity was supposed to be the biggest thing in my life. I started to change, but everything else stayed the same.
(sung)
They say life was made
this safe, exciting space.
(spoken)
The truth: it's falling to pieces.
(sung)
Positivity won't bother to show it's face
It's time to make the world our own
Time someone put our life in it's place...
(spoken)
Everyone thought we millennials were screwing our future, but it was bigger than that.
It's about wiping it out - and taking our turn.
FUTURE [PERSONIFIED] (spoken)
You're a traitor.
MAIN CHARACTER [CORRUPT] (spoken)
I'm a youth. The new generation. It's time we show dominance
FUTURE (spoken)
You are trying to mess with the fabric of time and life. Why?
MAIN CHARACTER [CORRUPT] (sung)
In the month of August I started to live
I did everything life ever asked, yeah I did
And for what?
You know this world will never be ours
As long as our messed up future rules over the stars
So I'll do anything
I don't care if I hurt anyone
It doesn't pay to be a good kid,
A good kid, and you better run!
Fate was never on our side
So I think it's time we watch it fall
And soon you'll see what I did
Soon they'll be no future at all!
Yup....that's it. The idea just popped into my head...I hope you liked it!
Parody for my original character of Luke's part. Norse mythology story so...
I've been here (Asgard) since I was a kid!
I did everything they ever asked, yeah I did!
And for what?
You know these worlds will never be ours
As long as the Aesir rule over the stars.
So I'll do anything,
I don't care if I hurt anyone!
It doesn't pay to be a good kid,
A good kid,
A good kid.
The gods were never on our side,
So I think it's time we watch them fall!
And soon you'll see what I did,
Soon they'll be no gods at all!
(She's the daughter of Loki and is very vengeful at Odin and the Aesir for what they did to her family)
imagine how much more heartbreaking it would be if it was Grover
Cinnamon/ Hoosh don’t even omg
What motive would Grover even have?
K N maybe how Zeus turned Thalia into a tree, part of the reason being to remind Grover how much of a failure he was. He sings about it in The Tree on the Hill
@@katiewalker7618 that’s also arguably a large part of Luke’s motivation, too
every time i listed to this song (or any tlt song) it gives me CHILLS people
I'm not a huge fan of the musical but the books are my childhood and still mean a lot to me, so hearing Luke's part, also loving Good Kid, makes me choke up. Luke was right and he was a kid hurt and manipulated and he just wanted to be seen. It really hurts me how the Gods just didn't give a shit about their kids and used them as pawns.
6 years and i’m still obsessed!!!!❤
This song makes me super nostalgic of my 5th grade obsession with PJO.
This is such a banger, honestly if musicals could have sequels I wish this one would get one
Luke's reprise isn't just heartbreaking, to me at least, is actually sounds scary.
I love this
Who agrees that the musical was better than the movies? I sure do.
1:39 gave me goosebumps...
Oki, if he began singing this to my face, i’d take out my dagger before walking backwards and eventually tripping over a rock.
2:05
just my favourite part, marking it for my own sake
As a fan of the books, I have a love/hate relationship with this musical. I love the songs. Hate that Percy and Annabeth are teens and not 12 year olds
Child labor laws and what not.
The characters are 12, its just no one wants to put on a musical with 12 year old actors
I always imagined it as the Apollo cabin putting a musical in the amphitheatre.
Family Luke, you promised
NOOO WHY
I’m sobbing
Just heard this today on spotify. Been listening for a good 4 hours now. i love it. 2020/05/15 1:52pm
Probably my fav song in the playlist next to Lost! and Drive.

I'm crying :/
Currently watching this on the last day of my summer vacation.
I memorized this whole song in 2 hours
This hits different on the last day of summer break going into 6th grade 😢😢😢
I am singing this for the last day of summer
The last day of summer before high school...
I feel so distant from them now
2:51 is the start of the best part
Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good job
2:51 is when the song ending starts
I love Luke’s part and I feel so bad abt it
Singing this on the last day of summer
that moment when you find out your boyfriend's trying to kill all the gods, including your dad :///
and then the next year you learn that you were being groomed by your first cousin once removed
1:20 is amazing
2:40 onwards is my favourite bit
I love Luke's part!!!
I wish Luke didn't betray Camp, his reprise of Good Kid hit really hard
its better than the movies, fandom
*ITS BOOK ACCUUURRRAAAATEEE*
Aren't you tired of being nice? Don't you just want to go APESHIT?
Who else had a crush on Luke even when he turned evil?
1:24 is lukes bit ;)
"What do you do when the has ended"
Get thrown into tartarus
dude im crying
Anyone else love Percy's little grunts? Like in Expelled he goes "My life? Mm." And now it's "But what abt peace of mine? UGH" like so cute.
I love lukes part
