It sucks, but that is what happens when you have an incident like that, the whole team gets banned. Honestly it needs to happen, it's a message to the coaching staff and school.
bullsh!t to those who said it was too harsh..good decision by the authorities...all for one,one for all...it just shows that his coaches are not good in disciplining their players..!
So disappointed to see my high school being recognized for this incident. I honestly blame the coaches. They knew he was a good player and it seems like they let him do whatever he wanted to keep him in the game and had no Disciplinary actions towards him. It’s not fair that the rest of the team has to go through this for his clown actions. I even heard that the U.I.L may suspend the WHOLE school from participating in the football season next year. Football season is the start to everyone else’s season too! The cheerleaders, band, dancers, yearbook, so many organizations that look forward to this and not only that these organizations keep many busy and out of trouble. Also considering next year is Edinburg High Schools 105th Anniversary!!! The whole school deserves justice if you ask me and the whole city.
Hah it’s called karma kid Don’t have a steriod junkie on the team who beats referees before The school knew The coaches knew And this happens…boom karma for the team
Play as a team pay as a team! Maybe next time they will stop this type of behavior before it can escalate to this. He has a history of aggressive or dirty game play but they allowed it to go unnoticed until this happened... They deserve to loose their tittle chances... They are just as much the problem as the player himself because they shrugged it off until this happened and they all of a sudden want to wash their hands of responsibility of taking care of their teammates!
I agree with the UIL decision. Back in the early years, if one player messed up, the entire team was punished. This is clearly his fault and the team should pay. It would be hypocritical to award the team as a whole and not punish as a whole. There is no "I" in team during good and bad times. Deal with it.
I have seen so many videos of the hit. So many perspectives. With that being said, So.... I clicked onto this particular video because it would mention how the Referee is doing? What kind of injuries did he sustain. What else. Does he want to continue refereeing? Just basic questions that's all...🤔

He'll start with college : some coach with a losing record will pick him up, promise him the moon, and try to keep his thuggery under control. But, as we see these jerks come out of high school and go into college sports with the same lack of discipline, they soon turn into semi or full fledged criminals. A few felonies here and there can be expected before he gets into the NFL. Nahhhhh, just ban him from any high school sports, press charges for assault and battery, and give the team a 2 year probation (i.e. no championship playoffs for football).
Tell that to TCU who lost their team for 5yrs because of a few coaches recruiting irregularities. Kicked out of the playoffs isn't shit, whiney little bitches, the sports "death penalty" should be on the table.
@@storm7586 I agree that they shouldn't punish the entire team, not being able to go to the playoffs is a big deal. The guy shouldn't be able to compete in wrestling or any other sport as long as he's in highschool. No college will take a chance on a person like that.
if you watch the stream of the game, the kid got like 5 roughing the passer calls prior to this one and got an unsportsmanlike conduct on the same play cause there must’ve been a small fight. the kid could blow through the line like crazy and was an athlete for sure but is a hot head and was deliberately putting players at risk multiple times. refs were in the right place to eject him
Are you freaking kidding me? That kid’s reaction is further indication that, although it wasn’t captured on video, his hit on the QB was most likely vicious. He is much bigger and younger than the ref and he basically sucker punches him like the coward he is. He should be tested for steroids and should not be allowed to play any organized sport again. Not even tiddlywinks.
He has a bright future working at McDonald's for the rest of his life or prison.

Sucks to be them. The UIL sent a statement that if you want to hit one of their referees, think twice for it will hurt the team, not just you.
easy2120 wasn’t the UIL that removed the team from the playoffs... says the Edinburg school district did that to themselves 1:28
i wonder if he was told that he was the best all his life and it went to his head
"Latest on Edinburg referee"? There's nothing in this clip about the referee.

Well, thats two minutes and thirty eight seconds of my life wasted. How is the referee doing?
He got KTFO, you didn’t see the clip?

jail assault
So what happened to the ref? Is he ok? The whole point I watched the video was to find out how he's doing.

Some refs bring their problems from home to the field and are just angry and have the power to call whatever they want cause they have the power to.
So this was the ref's fault? He brought it on himself?
