Nice video with some great tips! In all honesty though, how many cookies could you possibly produce one or two days a week out of a kitchen basically by hand? Short of having expensive commercial cookie production equipment pushing out thousands of pounds a day of cookies, or you have hundreds of smurfs working for you making cookies, these are going to be hobby dollars at best.

You could ask your church, VFW, or restaurant if you can use their kitchen and possibly pay them a percentage of the proceeds in exchange, or a much smaller fee, maybe even free, than renting other commissaries. Ask in person and explain how often you’ll be there and what you’ll be doing. Good luck!

Hey Cody thanks for asking actually the thing with vacuum sealers is they draw the air as it seals BUT the problem these is as it seals it can damage the dough if it is not frozen solid first. Anything that is soft in like dough can squish down or not hold their shape. Shrink wrap on the other hand is a method that can "seal" an item without actually drawing the air out.
@@MarketingFoodOnline I see, I'm trying to achieve freshness in the fridge for 1 month and 3 months in the freezer. After I bake my cookies they're pretty firm however they do have a frosting on top. After each batch is cooked and cooled I immediately freeze them where they remain until a customer places an order.
Hello Jennae the law for shipping via cottage foods linits the shipping within the state anything that crosses state lines is prohibited and considered interstate sales this is actually prohbited. The shipping would be within state lines.

You can absolutely sell online as a cottage food operation. You are allowed to transact online and ship orders through the mail as long as you don't do business across state lines. This is the case in most states. I'm not sure where you are getting this idea that a cottage food operation cannot sell online.
Every state does not allow online sales each state writes there own cottage food law, and unless otehrwise stated within that state ALL sales must be in person not via mail. Plus the other problem is an ecommerce website is ope to states and everyone, if you were JUSt selling within the state you live you will be refunding TONS of orders otherwise and tell customers you cant sell to them. But all states do not allow. online sales 3 states dont even have cottage food law and is illegal to sell from home. thanks for the comment though.
Many etsy sellers selling cookies online. There is nothing that says you can only buy from their state...so how are these etsy sellers able to sell online? Is it because they are using/say they are using a commercial kitchen?
Lisa Austin Most Likely, once you use a commercial kitchen it doesn’t really fall under the college food law anymore. Cottage food laws are mostly in place for your neighborly sales, farmers markets, and artisan sales so you’re not “red taped” with a bunch of fees. But there are a bunch of rules and extensive labeling which is why all states have different things making it complicated to sell online. But, it is possible. I’ve done it. You do have to be incredibly careful to market that you can only exclusively sell in state. Or it’s beneficial for a subscription or delivery service to process orders. Great for catering!

Look into your states cottage food laws! chances are you can bake right in your home and sell locally. Don't give up :)
