The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is the premier late night talk show on CBS, airing at 11:35pm EST, streaming online via Paramount+, and delivered to the International Space Station on a USB drive taped to a weather balloon. Evie is an absolute delight, every time! And it's such a tickle to see her banter and flirt with Stephen to the point he muffs his timing ... and then she really goes to town! Hi-larious! And a match made in heaven -- their love for each other is just awesome.
To think of it there is probably an unfortunate Ukrainian Evie suffering at the moment.
My favorite thing about them is how Stephen knows exactly how lucky he is, and shows it 😍

There was one good thing to come out of the pandemic and that was our introduction to Stephen’s loving, funny wife, Evie. Her spontaneous laughter was often more infectious than an entire studio audience, sitting in a chair off on side. It’s always delightful when she shows up for the first drafts. Their mutual respect and appreciation of each other’s sense of humor is heartwarming.
Evie is truly the "First Lady of Late Night" It's truly a joy when they are together on air.
“You didn’t take me away from the South, we chose to live here together” - gotta love Evie

I wanna see Evie do one of those flipped episodes where she gets behind the desk to interview Colbert, and gets to grill him with the questionaire. I think it could be hilarious and insightful.
I second that! Give this woman her own show already! I'd watch her read the phone book. Or a children's show. But I think a cooking show could be best.

I can definitely see why Stephen fell in love with his wife, she’s a pretty amazing lady and they are really great together. If anyone wants to know what a successful marriage looks like, they are a damn fine example.

Evie needs to be on the show more regularly. I don't really care what she does on it, whether it's her impersonation of an Andy Richter or Geoff Peterson, or even if she just laughs at Stephen or his jokes from the couch, or something else entirely, we need more Evelyn McGee-Colbert!
I don't disagree, but I think her rare appearance make us appreciate her even more than if we saw her as regularly as the other late-night sidekicks.

I love the genuine look of disgruntlement Evie gives when Stephen suggests that she ever regrets marrying him. They have a very lovely marriage, it seems.
yes, i love how she says "i don't have any lines or any pressure.." That's probably bc Stephen is too afraid to give her any! she's the one putting pressure on him (only cuz he cares about her being happy). I totally know how Stephen feels. Whenever my wife comes by my work , I get nervous because I suddenly realize my true boss is here.

The thing I miss the most about the "upstairs closet" shows is Evie sitting in the corner and laughing in the background. She's an absolute treasure.

This is one of the best I’ve seen, the cards were all funny and Stephen seemed more relaxed and casual with Evie. There are a few silver linings from this pandemic, and seeing them together is definitely one of them❤️
There is almost nothing good that came from the pandemic - but bringing Evie into our lives was certainly one of them.
They definitely have CRAZY chemistry. Should definitely do more segments. Maybe once a month.
I can never get enough of these too. They are just so adorable and hilarious together. I wish everyone could find someone that makes them feel the way these two make each other feel.

And another thing, I love reading all the Comments for any segment that Evie is on....... because they are almost universally positive and joyous. In our sometimes divided America, it is freshing to find something that woman and men, Left and Right, people of all ages, races and religions agree on: Evie and Stephen's love and marriage shines bright in our world and gives us hope and light. Stephen and Evie's magic is what happens when two amazing people bring out the best in each other.
Again... How Stephen lights up and looks like a boy with a high school crush when Evie walks in is what romantic movies aim to achieve... ahhhhhhh
And the fun part is that you can actually see a real difference between when he is "acting" and when he is talking with or about her. He becomes so genuine with his body language.
I'm a pretty grumpy person in general but I swear I can't help but smile whenever these two are together on stage. What an authenticly wonderful couple.
Even though we get hilarious joke foreshadowing, I feel like we're getting bonus bits and it's great. ^_^

When I went to see Stephen live, he mentioned that when Evie comes, there's a specific seat saved for her. The joy she brings him is so beautiful

She's very natural when she appears. It's always great to see a couple that's been married for as long as they have. Too many people give up just because marriage isn't always perfect. We need to stop making everything about "things". Like they said, they were poor and so they did free things for their dates. Life is supposed to be about the people we share it with, not the material possessions that we can fill it up with. Happy Easter/Passover/Ramadan everyone!

It's really fun to compare Evie's easy interaction now with the kind of shy behavior that she showed when he first tried this bit during the height of quarantine. She's become much more comfortable in front of the camera, and it's a true joy (as always) to watch them play off each other with this bit.
My holiday weekend is now complete. I don't need a big dinner, candy, eggs or flowers (though I will go to Mass to please the Pope). The gift of watching the Colberts interact fills me with joy in a way nothing else can. 😁👍❤

The lame jokes are just the set up to watch this adorable couple. How refreshing to see a Hollywood couple who’s been together for years and still thoroughly enjoy each other.
I'm not sure I would call them a "Hollywood couple." They've only lived in New York their entire married life. And they both come from the world of stage acting, not film. If anything, they are a Broadway couple.
