The orchestra was off to his left, you can see their light. Bobby does not sing falsetto. That's his 4 octave countertenor voice. Notice how effortlessly he hit those high notes. No change of expression on his face. Now watch them perform together: "You've Lost That Loving Feeling". " Soul and Inspiration". "You'll Never Walk Alone" "Rock And Roll Heaven". ( videos for all four)
He had a head cold, his Mom was in the audience watching him live for the first time and he had just finished singing a very demanding song before this one. Very nervous to be performing that night. Bobby was a countertenor no falsetto. Amazing range.
Bobby Hatfield was one of the greatest singers ever. He did a great solo of Ebb Tide. When he teams up with Bill Medley they belt out such great songs as You lost that Loving Feeling, Soul and Inspiration, Just Once in my Life and more Best of success with yr channel
Bobby is the greatest skilled gymnastic on vocals and emotional interpretation also his ethereal voice in: Ebb Tide, also his rip in Summertime, their duo in: You'll never walk alone, I just want to make love to you "My Prayer" Also Bobby did a different version of Unchained Melody on Shindig T.V. show in early 1965 in black and white for a young audience that is also excellent. Their highest hit in You've Lost that Loving Feeling" and on and on!
Thanks much, BEL - Bobby was incredible.. super voice, no "autotune" and no straining or screaming... just pure talent.. as said by others, he was nervous, b/c his MOM was there.. and also had a cold... just.. wow! appreciate your reaction!
If you don't know the Righteous Brothers, you need to dive in. Here you hear just one of them, Bobby Hatfield. Bill Medley is the other. They're both on "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'," which was the most played song on American radio in the 20th century. When you hear it, you'll know why.
For more Righteous Brothers check out the songs You Lost That Loving Feeling, Soul And Insperation, feom the 60s or even Rock 'N' Roll Heaven from the 70s. Both singers are together in them.
You had to have talent to sing back then ... no auto tune, no re-takes, no gimmicks, just pure God given talent. Known as blue eyed soul, Bobby is a rare counter tenor ... check out Bobby singing Summertime, When you Walk Through a Storm (both) and You've Lost That Lovin Feeling (most played song of the 20th Century
Theirs (his?) is the gold standard version, not the original but the one that got played loads in the 60s through 80s, even more than Elvis'. Of modern renditions I have a particular liking for Home Free's cover - give it a listen sometime if you haven't heard it.
His notes were usually crystal clear but he was pretty congested but he still nailed it. Don't think they've invented enough piano keys for what he was capable of. Hope you move on to one of the hit songs they sang as a duo because their harmony is magic. The Righteous Brothers were so amazing. Thank you for your reaction.
Really good reaction, I rnjoyed it. Now you must hear Bill Medley, the bass baritone, as well. He had an astounding voice as well. Bill is still singing at 84, and I saw him in concert earlier this week! Bill,’s new album will be released in February. A legend! So here’s the most played song of the 39th century, according to BMzi, their “You’ve LostThat Lovin’’ Feeling.” ruclips.net/video/uOnYY9Mw2Fg/видео.htmlsi=xe8Vj3r1yXZRrsc4
Bobby Hatfield(singing here) passed away in 2003 at age 63. Bill Medley is still alive, age 84 , and with a new album coming out next year. I'm sure you've heard Bill's deeper voice in other songs, probably in "You've lost That Loving Feeling". Yeah, that song that Tom Cruise Karaoked in Top Gun. lol
When anyone says the sound is restored or remastered what they're actually doing is taking the soul out of the music by auto-tuning it and make it sound like the garbage they put out today which is which is totally concocted by computers
No falsetto from Bobby. He is a counter tenor. Hits every note effortlessly
