- Welcome to our new series of vlogs where we will be renovating our early 1960's converted bungalow in the beautiful Kent countryside. This renovation will involve a lot of #DIY as we do like to get stuck in however we are not professionals in any way so these are not tutorials 😂. From experience renovating previous properties we know that we learn from our mistakes and pick up new tips, tricks and skills along the way. This is not going to be a quick turn around, we'll be doing this over the course of the next few years so thank you for coming along for the journey, hopefully we'll still have all our limbs, fingers and toes intact by the end of it 🤞🏼

Paint used to paint the Ikea 'PAX' and 'KOMPLEMENT' pieces: Rustoleum Kitchen Cupboard paint in 'Natural Charcoal'. We used 1 1/2 tins. Each piece needed 2 coats.
Paint used to paint the Walls in the wardrobe: Rustoleum Chalky Finish Wall paint. We used not even one tin.

What a nice minimal wardrobe! I would suggest to add a strip of led lights to brighten the space and be able to see the clothes better. I have to point out that Simon has such a small currated wardrobe! (meaning the number of items in it!) But this is how men usually are!
I have been looking at some lights for in the wardrobe and under the shelves as I think they are a great idea. Just need to find some, although Simon isn't too fussed 😂
@@EmmaHill ikea has some really easy to mount motion sensor lights that work great in wardrobes! They’re battery operated, so no need for electrical work 🤩

WOW that is FANTASTIC!!! I love the wardrobe, the colour and the layout. Simon goes to retrieve his minimal wardrobe from upstairs, in the corner, a tiny pile, surrounded by lots and lots and lots of Emma's clothes!!! Emma needs a whole ROOM for her walk-in wardrobe!!

Beautiful and minimal after the maximum hard work! Love how the mirror seems to flood the dark space with light. Very neat and tidy, the floor choice will be beautiful with black. I thought the space next to wardrobe would be ideal for a hook to hang a robe and lay slippers but I really like the sliding scarf rack! Great job team Simon/Emma! Another project off the list. ✔

That's hilarious! I literally just painted my master walk in black with white shelves last weekend and everyone thought I was crazy for wanting that until it was done. I love my closet and yours😂

Anytime your babies make an appearance it makes my day. They are so freaking adorable!! The wardrobe turned out really nice. i wish to make my clothing amount more minimalistic and to get rid of having too much. It just seems so much easier with men.

I think when we do ours I’ll pave to fill in the pre drilled holes in the wardrobe before painting though .. unless we leave it all white:)
Emma did get little caps for the holes that match the colour and popped in after so you can't see the holes, and also means you can readjust bits at a later date if you wanted. But yes if you were going to paint them far easier to have them in first 👍

Yes we were lucky it was already there as it has worked out really well. Although I would say if you can get someone to install a socket then it is definitely worth it. 👍
Well done guys! Great work but putting a deadline on renovations is always very hit and miss usually as there are a few hiccups on the way! I think it’s wonderful when anyone takes on a huge job themselves and I really admire your aesthetic choices and so look forward to your next video! Hello Emma & Simon! 👍👍 I’m so proud of y’all…all the way from NC, USA! My father built our house. Daddy has passed away, but, my husband and I still do projects in our home. Just this week, we made some changes in closets, too! Not like yours though! I love the very nice organized shelving. Maybe something like that would be in order for our closet. Nice job! Looks so good, I am really impressed. Emma, you've got to get yourself some metal sawhorses for setting things on , to sand, tape, paint...whatever. I'm in Canada and I bought some from Canadian Tire, the are made by Mastercraft, metal, light weight, foldable so can be easily moved, and they were on sale when I got them, 2 for 1...so about $20.00 for the two, I'm sure some store in the UK has something equivalent ...changed my diy game significantly and saved backaches from all the crouching and bending I was doing.
