I totally agree Emma, having a tidy, organised space means a relaxed and stress free mind as you're not constantly searching for things you need through clutter. Plus it's aesthetically pleasing to the eye, and to some of us it's really important that things 'look right' and placed together in categories.
Very satisfying results I must say 👌🏻 Another thing that gives me a calming feeling is to put strips of felt under all storage boxes so they slide easily and won’t scratch the shelves. I mean the type of felt you normally use under chairs but to buy them in big rectangles and cut into the needed sizes to stick under your boxes. The almost non existing sound when pulling out the boxes “gives me life” as they say😂
Ok, well that was quite satisfying to watch before I sleep. 😊 I always say to friends or family that are struggling with anxiety or the like, (or when we were locked up in iso) that the best thing to do is tidy up or re arrange inside your pantry, cupboards, wardrobe etc. Creating order in a space helps settle an over active mind, is extremely therapeutic and aesthetically pleasing. Thank you for another terrific video Emma. ❤️🙌😍
Emma, I have ALWAYS appreciated your SERIOUS commitment to snacks 😂😂. From sub-categorizing dark and milk chocolate to the emergency Snickers bar. We are kindred spirits for sure. The kitchen is beautiful 😍🇨🇦.
Emma, this was simply like meditation to me! I’m exactly the same and feel much calmer when things are away and organised! Great job, it’s all looking bloody lovely 🥰
Been de cluttering my entire house bit by bit and gave loads to charity that is close to my heart x . Love your tips for when I get round to sorting my kitchen cupboards . I was worried when you took down a lot of the wall units but seeing how you have maximised your space in your kitchen it is pleasing on the eye xx
We have so much space even after removing so many cupboards. We have a lot of dead space in the cupboards but obviously didn’t need to worry about that as we can space things out 🙌🏼
It's so satisfying to watch the organizing of things. I don't know why. Those light colour dishes look amazing inside the black shelves. The wooden boxes for cupboard organization are beautiful. They can even look good on the counter.
So clean& organised. My Mum loves organising a tad obsessively but reason she labels, as I understand, is that she adds expiry date labels as some grains like flour don’t immediately show when they’ve expired but can flop your baking if used past expiry date
This is soo satisfying to my soul 🤩 I get it Emma, I feel so off balanced when things are not in their dedicated place. I’ve watch hundreds if not thousands of organisational videos & every time it’s such a joy to watch.
Super fantastic. I loved this kitchen organization. You seemed so calm. I love all of your boxing ideas. I’ve been in my house for three years and haven’t settled yet on a reorganization for my kitchen that I’m completely happy with. I think I’ll try to incorporate some of your clever ideas. Thank you. ❤️❤️
Very satisfying to watch Emma.. During the first lockdown I decided to give a total makeover and organizing every draw and everyshelf..I felt so good that every few minutes I just opened the cupboards only to admire the aesthetic organization 😆 Thank for sharing this video Emma!! 😊
I do that too - I have a whole drawer of Skims underwear arranged in all of the nude shades. Every now and then I open it and just stare at it with great delight. :)
I too agree Emma. Makes me feel good when I open the cupboards I've organized. They are all not done yet but I'm getting there. Your kitchen redo is wonderful as is your dressing room. Can't wait to see the entire home when you're done.😍
Good morning Emma! Thank you for sharing your organizing tips! I especially like putting the labels on the bottom of clear containers. It keeps things looking pretty! 💕
The kitchen looks so nice and orderly. I appreciate glass jars, too. The wood containers look perfect for floppy snack bags. I need to get some of those. Your place is really coming along!
You know you’ve met your people when they immediately know what back stock means!!! 😆 The boxes and mason jars look great, I can’t have a clear mind either if things in the home aren’t organised in a particular way. The ikea display area around the fridge looks amazing. We have a walk in pantry and use lots of mason jars and plastic containers which I’m slowly replacing with wooden ones. I do have to label them though. It’s looking like a space Clea and Joanna would be very proud of!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
I love watching your videos. Everything you say makes so much sense and i totally agree with you. I learn so much from you and I absolutely love your home x
This was very inspiring and a bit of zen! 😂 I now know one or two cupboards that I will reorganize within the next weeks! Just didn't know how to organize all until this video! Thanks! 🙌😉 Have a great sunday you, Simon and the fluffy friends!
Hi Emma. I’m a born organiser and everything has its place in my home. I’m not a minimalist as my house is not very modern and often, sentimentality takes over. This means I do have a lot more than I need which undoubtedly makes my life more difficult! Still, I know exactly where everything is and ,like yourself,I find it helps towards reducing stress levels! 💖🌸
Yes to this! I have minimal style but I’m certainly not a minimalist, we do have stuff but it all has a purpose and like you say, if everything has a certain place then it makes life less stressful 🙌🏼
Amazing Emma. Your 'before' shots were better than my 'after' organisation 😳. When I get a bigger kitchen I'll be a dream organiser whizz and the biscuits won't fall on my head everytime I open the cupboard door 🤭 x
Haha to be fair we were already pretty organised as that’s just who we are as people (the nightmare drawer was an exception 🤣) but it just didn’t look very aesthetically pleasing and some areas needed tweaking to work for us 🙌🏼
Wow so many snacks and cereal and nut choices. I love adding fruits and nuts in my cereal aswell. I love your condiments where you can just swivel it out we definitely use alot since Asian kitchens you have alot for cooking. I am not fan of labels and since there stored in glass you know what it is. I hate removing labels on things as sometimes it leaves a sticky residue and can take a long time to remove and need to be soaked before all gone. I like drawer inserts so items doesn’t move around. Plates and cups i like using shelving units to save space. Definitely during Covid we stocked up on freezers and cans and toiletries items also if you ever had an emergency too. Since dry foods they expired longer and freezer foods aswell.
Emma, post-rennovation it helps to dust down the ceilings and walls, tops of doors, trim, cabinets, etc. with a soft, long-handled dust mop. Shake it frequently outdoors. Running one fan, blowing inward, at the open door on the upwind side of the house, and one blowing out at the door on the downwind side, will help remove airborne dust after everything else is cleaned I’ve been through this several times.
Loved this video, thank you for making it! I would have kept the labels visible on the baking jars because having to pick them up to see what they are would be annoying for me but I do bake quite frequently. I will definitely apply some of the tips you shared for my own kitchen organization!
I have to admit that I didn't actually think I'd be able to sit through 18.5 minutes of someone else organizing (it's a task I can easily ignore in my own space until my brain can't handle the disarray any longer), but I am in awe. And inspired. Super job! Functional and pretty at the same time!
@@EmmaHill well, I'm not quite sure I'd go that far! I admire your dedication to that level of organization, but my personal comfort level is a little more ... hmm ... "casual" -- and to be honest, if I tried to get ambitious I'd be thwarted by my husband! That said, your tips and suggestions have given me ideas that might just survive his attempts at chaos.
Oh god yes, getting things organised and categorised saves so much time and is much tidier. I got some baskets and jars for things like packets, rice, pasta, cereals et al and it just makes everything more accessible and easier to clean around. Also conversely give one more space as now items aren't so higgledy-piggledy!
i kid you not…. after grocery shopping today, i said to my husband i needed to look at reorganising our walk-in-pantry to make best use of space and look at tidying it all up with new storage containers and boxes. BAM! thank you Emma and Simon 😃
I toast nuts & seeds ( oven tray 150° × 10 mins) then add to linseed, coconut flakes, chia, dried fruit (cranberries/ sour cherries) & a good quality granola mix- all goes into 1 big jar for the week ready to go- just add fresh fruit & plant milk, Ikea is great for storage baskets & jars, the dish/plate cupboard is beautiful !

Exactly the video I wanted this Sunday morning 🤍🤍🤍🤍
well done you guys. the kitchen looks awesome. most of my lower cabinets are drawers which I love. when I have to redo the kitchen in like 10-15years I will get all drawers. however kitchens are very expensive so I will keep the weird silver/brown/glass kitchen for now.
God! How beautiful ist is! I am in love with your kitchen and this light countertop!😻I have little advice, since there is a lot of garbage on the floor after vegetables: for potatos and onions I advice you to take wicker baskets without holes. Like in Ikea „knarra“ or „byholma“👍👍
👏👍me to an absolute T I love organisation.👍..a place for everything and everything in its place..( I drive my hubby mad sometimes with it 🙈😁) your kitchen looks lovely 😊Best wishes to you all Xx
Love these tips Emma, thank you for sharing! Where did you find those curved pull out things for under the sink? Don't even know how to describe it 😆 which probably explains why I can't find them
All looks lovely - my only gripe is some of the practicalities i.e. the dishes aren't near the dishwasher which can be a bit of a pain when unloading. All your mugs and hot drink stuff are pretty far away from the hot tap too!
W😍W ... what a fabulous video ... I absolutely love watching other peoples organisation ideas ... your cupboards looks so great afterwards 😘😘😘😘❤❤❤❤⚘⚘⚘💕💕💕💕💕

They wouldn’t have been my first choice but as the kitchen is upcycled we kept the existing units and just re-jigged them. That said, they are pretty useful and it’s easy to access what’s inside that cupboard without having to get into it 🤣🙌🏼

Method isn’t a typical cleaner, it’s an eco friendly brand so doesn’t contain the kind of chemicals you would get in other normal cleaning brands. We’ve always kept our Chia seeds in a jar like this and never had an issue. I eat chia most mornings so this little jar wouldn’t last 3 months.
