Thank you Nemo for this long term testing review. For me, I wanted everyone to see this amp as an EL34 amp because I voiced it with EL34 tubes. However, the TS34 can take KT88 and that takes on another character wtih KT88. That is why I had to discontinued the TS120 standard edition because the performance of TS34 with KT88 was so good that it no longer makes sense for me to offer both products. The standard edition will still have the stronger bass but the speed of the TS34 makes up for the differences.
@@MasterofPlay7 Yes, but the TS A20 is probably more holographic than 80% of the tube amps I have listened to so just because a system has tubes, does not automatically mean it has 3D holographic soundstage. In this comparison, the TS120SE is a bit more holographic.
One of its unique features is that it has a sound profile selector A/B/T. It's a big omission not to talk about it and indicate in which mode you did perform your listening and what were the differences. Sorry if I missed it in the review.
T is just to engage the tone controls, I used them to make sure they work but otherwise left the amp in the default A mode. If you have questions beyond what the review covers the manufacturer is always available. Reviewing gear is already very time consuming, most reviewers cannot and do not review every single aspect of a product, this is very normal.
yeah I used it with all the speakers I had, it sounded good with everything, the murano have a lot of bass but the TS34 was able to control them without any issues, I think the pairing together is very nice, you'd end up with a sound that is technically very capable but also enjoyable and emotional. The Galion TS34 paired well with every speaker I had and the Murano paired well with every amp I had, each product seems very flexible to partnered equipment.
Nemo I have to ask I have to complete different speakers . (1) set of Magnapan LRS+s, and (2) a set of open baffle's with 15" coaxial divers and 18" bass driver. Being so different in efficiency maggie's at 83 and the opens at 97. Your thoughts on the TS 34 or the 120se?
XLR is not very common with integrated amps because for it to really do anything you need a true balanced design and most integrated amps are not true balanced designs so if the amp has XLR it's really just single ended with an adapter on it for conveneience but its not real XLR usually. The connection is large and takes up space and since its not real XLR you can just use an XLR to RCA cable or XLR to RCA adapters if you want a fake XLR input for some reason.
100% agree!! I only go to outdoor ranges now and double up on hearing protection but I think it still takes it's toll :( When I do these loud volume tests its only for about 30 seconds or so which is below the threshold for hearing damage at those levels but I totally get what you mean, my right ear is a little weak compared to my left already :(
Thank you Nemo for your review of the Galion TS 34. I know that Thomas focused on vocal presentation in the development of this amp. What did you notice about this? Also, did you have the opportunity to run it with the Cabasse Muranos (you may recall me telling you I purchased the Muranos after seeing your review 🙂)? If you did pair them, I’d welcome your sharing of any observations you experienced with the pairing. It’s appreciated!

As far as vocals go nothign stood out to me that I could remember but my room is treated fairly well and one of the results of good room treatment is really great vocal imaging so if the Galion was improving that it would be hard to notice that in my room.

What's the best amp for 3d holographic soundstage in the Galion lineup?
@@MasterofPlay7 TS120SE for tube and TS A20 for solidstate.
@@ThomasAndStereo I heard you said tube is better at 3d holographic soundstage, in this case if you have to pick one between 2 which is the king?

@@ThomasAndStereo is the TS20 a push and pull design? Also how big is the transformer/power consumption since is class A
I have had my eye in this since its release.
Thanks for the review
excellent review !

Nemo, great review per usual. Did you hook this up to the Cabasse Murano? If yes, or even if not, what do you think about this pairing ?

I have zero experience with maggies, please email Galion, they should know, I would guess TS120SE but I'm just not sure.
Thanks for the response Nemo. Try to review the LRS’s. For the money, with 1 or your subs😊
@@RandyLund-b1s I want to at some point, maybe sometime in 2025 if I get the chance.

Get the bigger model and save the money for shipping. It looks really to beautiful to use
Still $1k difference, for some it may be too much, both amps are really great though :)
Excellent review. Guard those ears. It's not worth risking damage. Big guns in the military did a job on my ears, Take care they dont heal themselves.

So hows the 3d holographic soundstage? Is it better than the R300?
Galion TS34 is a notable step up from the R300+ in every way. Of course the R300+ is still amazing for it's price.
Can the TS 34 drive magnepan speakers?
I've never tried magnepans myself, please contact galion audio.

pure class A is one output tube per channel, multiple tubes are class A.
what about class A solid state then?
What's the real difference between pure class A and class A? Never heard of such a difference based on the number of output tubes .
