Agree with Mark below, this is a live stream and they take requests, and they literally have 100s of songs they have done in their live streams. I'm not sure anyone could memorize the number of songs they perform. When you've seen them in their live streams for a while, its apparent the whole band can all read music well.
For someone who's taking & singing requests on the fly (LIVE)without advance preparation, I'd say Gigi has done a superb job of expressing and story telling in this particular performance. Other singers probably wouldn't have been able to finish the song without mistakes and would have been all over the place because you're right about the need to memorize the lyrics. So considering the situation, Gigi for me has done a great job at it
Yes, this is from a 2 hour livestream and the fact she can perform this song so amazingly well while reading as well as conveying the emotions of the song just shows how much talent she has. Love her and the band! ❤
These are livestreams that go on for 2-3 hours & they take requests from their audience. Chk out UNHOLY, ANGEL BABY, THROUGH THE FIRE, OFFICIALLY MISSING YOU, ALL I ASK. These are informal gigs they used to do in Gigi's small living room 2 yrs ago. They become popular after a year or so. A few months ago, Gigi moved to a bigger house which they also use as a studio. They laugh & joke around, do pranks on each other, & they converse with their audience through the chat. You almost feel they're jamming in your living room. Great reaction, you know music well. More of her please!

FYI: this was a live streaming event and hundreds of songs requested hence reading off her phone( which she probably googled). Impossible to memorize hundreds of songs on the fly!
Believe she is independent and that’s her band behind her named appropriately “Gigi Vibes”.
Sure she can memorize lyrics,especially during her live concert performance because all songs are "lined up"but this very clip was part of a 2 hour live streaming where this was a requested song. this was done during the lockdown from a makeshift studio ot the apartment garage. and what an amazing performance even while reading the lyrics!
She is reading the lyrics due to a live streaming for more than 2 hours of live performances covering with a couples of songs perhaps 30 songs for your info...

This is a live show the GG Vives live twice a week they sing all the requested song requested that is why she have all the lyrics in frint of her. Reading is just a crutch for her. Their producer and some band members are classically trained. Music sheets in front during performances outside of concerts. She has sung this song hundreds of times.

Shes reading the lyrics because her youtube channel caters on requests, naturally she'll be caught on the spot… thus the lyric guide, her band is older than her, they might’ve known the chords to this old song… this song is from the 80s- early 90s.
