      I recommend Igor Zhukov for that concerto as well. Zhukov was a really underrated pianist. His Scriabin was exceptional.

    Konstantin Scherbakov is excellent. His performances of Liszt's piano transcriptions of Beethoven’s symphonies are a joy

    No, it does not sound like an entire orchestra. What it does sound like is a piano being used to its fullest extent.

    the 32 sonatas span so many eras and dimensions, the idea of concluding it all in a convincing way seems impossible. Sonata 32 does this utterly perfectly somehow. The final statement even ends on middle C, which sonata 1 begins with.
    My interpretation of sonata 32 is, the two movements compare the struggle of life followed by the bliss of death. I think Beethoven had this comparison on his mind often.

      I’ve heard Scherbakov live in 2 different venues, and he always gets an enormous sound out of the piano.

      It’s the „Beethoven jazz sonata“ but it’s only the exposition of the first movement. The „jazzier“ part belong into the Arietta the 2nd movement.

      It's pretty obvious.
      Bach used a time machine to go in the future, write Beethoven's melody and say it's his. But he was unsuccesful in life
