Underrated pianist. I used to listen to his Shostakovich Preludes & Fugues every day while I did my homework in high school.
Scherbakov is awesome. His Medtner 1st Concerto is one of my all time favourite recordings 👌
Scherbakov's Lyapunov are also great!
You're everywhere
Hi superman ;)
@@Lifezfun-e6r Haha - you saw that comment :)
I recommend Igor Zhukov for that concerto as well. Zhukov was a really underrated pianist. His Scriabin was exceptional.
Konstantin Scherbakov is excellent. His performances of Liszt's piano transcriptions of Beethoven’s symphonies are a joy
No, it does not sound like an entire orchestra. What it does sound like is a piano being used to its fullest extent.
the 32 sonatas span so many eras and dimensions, the idea of concluding it all in a convincing way seems impossible. Sonata 32 does this utterly perfectly somehow. The final statement even ends on middle C, which sonata 1 begins with.
My interpretation of sonata 32 is, the two movements compare the struggle of life followed by the bliss of death. I think Beethoven had this comparison on his mind often.
Oh man what power not only in him, but in that piano as well
And in that room too
Pretty impressive. Is playing all that complexity and still adding in all the emotional tempos and sound.
Man, I really love this kind of candid videos with this pianists because you can listen how real the sound is.
No studio micros or that stuff.
I love this sonata so much.
His musicality is really how a imagine Beethoven's
Its the the reverberation of the room giving a fuller sound from the piano
I’ve heard Scherbakov live in 2 different venues, and he always gets an enormous sound out of the piano.
what an authority, and what a technique, brilliant performance
This is what's known as a classical banger
Beethoven could even be considered the name of a musical era: Genius!
It's unbelievable how I still discover masterpieces from composers I already know well !
I know what to work now
It is true. Sounds like an entire orchestra.
Bravo. The maestro's voice is there.
Underrated pianist
I love this sonata♡and the way he plays wasn't the same kind I usaually listen, but I like it♡
The piano itself and the acoustics of the room contribute towards it sounding like a full orchestra.
We all know the piano is the best instrument ;)
sounds like a piano
Also listen to Sokolov playing Ocean Etude. It's like the whole orchestra behind him is playing with him...
wow this energy still in this age
J'adore
it sounds like a piano
Well Beethoven's favorite key is c minor
Jo-se-phine Sonata
Nice
Nice, a version that sounds with actual feeling and not just a boring machine (most of them)
Liszt/Beethoven Symphonies be like:
I love the sound and energy, but he plays like Prestissimo
Great transcribing skills.
There was nothing transcribed here
@@SILAS-cb9xl was just a joke :)
What piece is this?
op. 111
@Rexy thanks
@@Quotenwagnerianer thanks
do the beethoven jazz sonata
It’s the „Beethoven jazz sonata“ but it’s only the exposition of the first movement. The „jazzier“ part belong into the Arietta the 2nd movement.
what's the piece's name ?
Beethoven Piano Sonata No.32 mov.1
@@김진웅-w5n His last piano sonata?
@@fatitankeris6327 'yes
Don’t tell me this guy is related to Gregory Sokolov.
I always thought the appassionata sounded like an orchestra.
This is the sonata number 32,opus 111,the appassionata is the sonata number 23 opus 57
@@romanleon76 He wasn’t referring to this performance at all - he was talking about a different sonata which he also thought sounded like an orchestra
most of the beet sonatas do
Why did I hear something Bach-esque in a melody... Hmmm...
It's pretty obvious.
Bach used a time machine to go in the future, write Beethoven's melody and say it's his. But he was unsuccesful in life
Late Beethoven is full of Bach-ish stuff...
Hes Amazing, but this sounds nothing like an orchestra.
Who is the pianist?
Scherbakov
fun fact: When Beethoven was composing his Sonatas, he had an entire orchestra in his mind.
Can you refer me to a source?
@@CK-kd5pn bassically every Beethoven source book
@C K the source is his sheet music…
Not true. For many of his sonatas he clearly has a string quartet in mind. Like op 13 and op 14 n1 and 2
@JuanRamonSilva I mean, he liked to have orchestras perform as well.
As most pianists do he turns Beethovens divine music into devlish desaster.
how
This is only violent Czerny etude. Not much love. Now go listen to Pletnev.
so rude and nervous... this sonata shouldnt be played in this way
Why bang the piano ?
Awful sound ?
