- The oldest living American is set to celebrate her 116th birthday in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Hester Ford will ring in another year older from her home in the Queen City, and despite the coronavirus pandemic, her grandkids are making sure she has the celebration she deserves.
Mary Hill and Clayton Harris, two of Ford’s grandkids, said they have planned a giant drive-thru celebration for their granny this weekend.

What an amazing lady. She is blessed to have such a long life and a such a loving family. It would be so interesting to read her life story. Maybe one of her family members can get a publisher to make that happen. The article I read on Breitbart that linked to this video, said, "She has 12 children, 48 grandchildren, 108 great-grandchildren, and approximately 120 great-great-grandchildren."

Publishers have to estimate the market and there are so many books out there being promoted, it's a 'tuff' sell. Maybe her family will write her history and make a RUclips video. I'm a big fan of Bob Davis' RUclips channel on the history of our home town, Port Huron, MI. He is not a professional videographer, but you'd never know it from watching the interesting stories he tells to go along with all the research he has done.

Wasn't it a blessing to hear her talk and she was able to give you advice and most of all Love. You know she could cook because she did it with love. In one interview she was singing. Oh how I love the Lord.

She remembers WW1, WW2, The Korean War, Vietnam and both of the Middle Eastern Wars. The Wright Brothers had made their first flight at Kitty Hawk less than 2 years before she was born. All I can say is WOW! Television hadn't been invented yet and blah blah blah!

That was the record for the oldest living man, not the oldest living person. The Guinness Record for the oldest living person belongs to Kane Tanaka (born 2nd January 1903) who,is aged 118 years, 218 days.
