@@lockekappa500 there are many "What if's" in this story and such remarkable and at the same time heartbreaking. Zaun wouldn't have to feel resentful to piltover, their lives and environment would have been better and the story wouldn't go downhill by the end of the ep 9. The ending was expected how jinx became jinx but it was truly heartbreaking that everyone's decisions neither good or bad leads consequences and different path 😭😭😭. I love Arcane because when you watch it you can feel the feelings of each character and can relate to them. Tbh I've thought about this and I don't think she didn't understand but she tried to match her sister as a natural behavior like she was more than her sister, she was her leader too. It was more Vi's moment as she is the older sibling that actually had to protect her sister. She understood but it was an even greater shock to her to see Vi's expression as the world seemed to end and she was so little yet. He built up Vi's confidence and molded her into the leader he hoped would take his place. It seems as though he never really paid much attention to Powder who clearly needed it more; maybe it was largely because he couldn't relate to her since she didn't show similar interests to him. I really cant blame him though it seems as though he had the cares of lanes thrown at his feet; he was probably doing the best he could given the circumstances. I am curious how both girls will react when Vander, "The Hero of the Lanes," comes back as the near mindless beast Warwick.
@@happi9728 From what I understand from the lore. Warwick has little memory of his past just a girl screaming what he assumes is a name. Warwick is left mindlessly killing people in Zaun; however, as he kills he starts to have flash backs of his past. He eventually goes from indiscriminately killing to focusing on criminals. This quote is so telling of Silcos strategy for independence. The cultivation of Jinx and the Hextech missile launcher and shimmer struck fear into Piltover. Even though Piltover could destroy the undercity, they fear the devastation that Zaun could deliver.

Had she done so though, she might have doomed the entire world.
Was thinking the same thing. For example, The Rings of Power cost something like half a billion and was a complete and utter travesty in terms of, well, everything. I doubt that most Zaunites would sing this song, it's too pleading and empathetic and I imagine they're mostly much too angry for that. But I can imagine it being a thing, probably at least a few optimistic Zaunites might write a song appealing to their better natures....not that it would work easily

What I love about this song is its duality. From the Zaunite side, it sounds like a humble plea for kindness that goes unanswered. From the Piltover side, it sounds like an ominous siren song to lure people to their doom.
Arcane has one of the best Soundtracks i've ever heard, thank you Kim to Show us how georgeos thoose masterpices are! See you next year with more of Arcane!
I thought some of their choices with modern artists was kind of disjointed from the rest of the show. Like I thought it was incredibly stupid to have imagine dragons it just show up in the middle of the season as actual characters, and honestly the song really does not fit the show, maybe the lyrics do but the actual sound of the song just does not fit It's close but it just isn't a good fit.
I love the parallel with this sequence with Powder watching the carnage around her caused by the Pacifiers and Jinx shooting down the Pacifiers while humming the same tune, it's genius!
I loved the cover, great job from both of you. Spoilers: I can't be the only one who got chills and a scary feeling when jinx was humming the song on the bridge in episode 7 after blowing up the bridge, and killing all enforcers there, just like they killed her parents.
I think the exact moment I realized this show was likely as good as people were saying, was Violet's reaction to seeing her parents. The predictable shock, followed by the fact she visibly tries to compose herself before her little sibling, before the sheer pain of it all breaks her and she crumbles in tears. A genuine gut punch that despite its intensity couldn't prepare me for the drama to come. Props to Fortiche Productions. The facial animations in this show are among the most expressive I've ever seen, and Arcane's absolute finest bit of craft IMO.
I never even fully realised what the lyrics meant because of the genuinely shock I was in. It’s so tragic that Powder was singing about asking for the charity of those who killed their parents.
This song was addressed to the whole of Piltover. But due to negative qualities such as greed, pride, arrogance, and so on, she was not heard until Jinx began to act.
Maybe it does happen in the future... both girls "freed" from their pain during the war that has come from the inevitable continuation of that cycle of violence that started on that bridge or before. When Vi doesn't have to fight anymore... when they both get to come home in the most enduring way possible. Maybe it's better than having to live through more pain, if they die before everything goes even more to sh*t. I want them to be happy while alive though, this song and that image made me cry. "What could have been" is right.
When I first watched this scene, I was stunned. I couldn't believe just how much was communicated with absolutely no dialogue whatsoever. So much emotion and storytelling communicated through body language, color and music. This scene is a masterclass in show don't tell.
Coming back here after hearing Vi hum the tune in the last epsiode. I always really liked this being a "theme" of sorts for the girls, particularly for Powder and later Jinx.
Had to come back to this after the show ended. Goodbye Arcane, I'm excited to see what the future holds for league of legends as a story in this new canon they are forming.
In the cinematic part. When Vi drops to her knees sobbing, I can 100% feel and relate with her pain of losing her mother and father here. The expressions and detail is amazing. Very good research into this clearly
Oh this scene is so sad😭Vi is trying so hard to keep the tears in, she wants to protect Powder, but then she can't and she just looks so defeated, and Powder doesn't understand what's going on, but she knows that her sister is sad and needs a hug, and it's just so sweet that Powder immediately hugs Vi

@@plainlake I mean from the very first scene in the show. With the exception of Powder's singing, it was completely wordless, and I was STILL immediately hooked. That's the point I was trying to make.
I've never even played league of legends and this series was the most well written, lovingly made and revolutionary animated picture ive seen in years. The characters were not only relatable on a human level but also amazing role models as male/female/non binary people in a way I've never seen before and I hope continues into the second series. As an adult it's been a good few years since I've felt anywhere near as inspired as I've been by characters like Vi and Vander to be a better friend/sibling/person and help build understanding for people and circumstances different from my own; in an eerily similar disparate and unjust world. Reminded me that no matter how small and insignificant goodness and kindness might seem in our dark world, it's the reason why such actions mean so much and are so greatly needed to make the world brighter; no matter how small or who by. Bravo.
It's like I can't get enough of the Arcane music 😭 I've been listening to your other Arcane covers over and over again and I'm in love with this one. Guess it's time to add this one into my Samuel Kim Arcane music list
notice that powder sang this on the first episode of arcane, yet when powder died, so does the song which is symbolized on the start of jinx's final transformation at her fight against ekko. that's why at episode 9, instead of calling for sympathy on piltover, jinx instead destroys it. idk just thought it out

One of the most hard hitting opening of a series ever. It just straight away tells you, this is not going to be an easy lighthearted story, but a brutal world full of dangers and differences. All that in 2 minutes of screen time, told only by sound and picture, with no exposition or dialogue whatsoever. This just tells you how amazing Arcane is, not just as an animation, but a full fledged streaming series of its own

The divide between the rich and the poor.
@@plainlake Yeah it broke my heart especially when Vi said she wanted something better for Powder.
I doubt that most Zaunites would sing this song, it's too pleading and empathetic and I imagine they're mostly much too angry for that.
But I can imagine it being a thing, probably at least a few optimistic Zaunites might write a song appealing to their better natures....not that it would work easily

My grandfather just passed, and even though this song doesn't have anything to do with it. It reminds me of his stories about his childhood, and the things he tried to impart in us so we would never have to experience them. Thank you so much for creating this cover, its helping me let out emotions.
You'll be right. May he rest well, and may you live his teachings and your life to the fullest.
May his soul belong be to where he pleased.
May the life guide you through this hard time.
May you grow stronger for him who passed away.

I lost my great aunt last year, and it’s hard to spend Christmas this year knowing that she’s gone. Losing a loved one isn’t easy, but we can make it a little easier by surrounding ourselves with people who care, my god bless you and your family during this difficult time❤️
I'm sorry for you and I know your pain. Be brave and strong :) It's a beautiful song, it'll compliment your memories :) 🖤
May he rest in peace, I just lost my grandmother, my last grandparent, 4 days ago.
Just came here after the final episode
A goodbye to a masterpiece
And a fitting final song for it.
A goodbye to arcane not to Piltover and Zaun
But the next show is probably gonna be in Noxus

OK. 2:46. That drawing of Vi and Powder grown up in Vander's arms breaks my heart even more. What Could Have Been.
Same. It hit me right in the heart when I saw it.
Right?!
Yeahhh this hits hard especially after season 2
@sidhantmakil2471 this is even worse. It actually happened and than.....
What’s crazy is that exact scene happened 2 years later lol
What I love about this song is its duality. From the Zaunite side, it sounds like a humble plea for kindness that goes unanswered. From the Piltover side, it sounds like an ominous siren song to lure people to their doom.
Arcane has one of the best Soundtracks i've ever heard, thank you Kim to Show us how georgeos thoose masterpices are! See you next year with more of Arcane!
Some of the best animation and visuals, too
Arcane is good
Except it’s 2 years, actually
Soz bud wait another year😭😭
I thought some of their choices with modern artists was kind of disjointed from the rest of the show.

I can't be the only one who got chills and a scary feeling when jinx was humming the song on the bridge in episode 7 after blowing up the bridge, and killing all enforcers there, just like they killed her parents.

Yeees i thought the same thing
Thankyou for putting the spoilers in your comment ❤️✨🙏🏾 honestly
@@armz9838 no problem, I personally do not like when people spoil things so I usually give a heads up when I do.
i'll admit i had not noticed this detail
I love that they used this song in heavy "The Beast" song that was played as a soundtrack for Warwick, so many connections, even in music
Powder est une fille c est sa petite sœur mdr
At last, the final final Arcane cover of 2021. Thank you for all the beautiful music, and for having me on so many Arcane projects :)
Thanks for all the beautiful cello performances!
Great music, great voice, great artwork 👍
2:40 that artwork is amazing. If only it could have happened in the show 😭
"What could have been" 😔
@@mari-anne *No not again I just stopped crying*
Maybe it does happen in the future... both girls "freed" from their pain during the war that has come from the inevitable continuation of that cycle of violence that started on that bridge or before. When Vi doesn't have to fight anymore... when they both get to come home in the most enduring way possible. Maybe it's better than having to live through more pain, if they die before everything goes even more to sh*t. I want them to be happy while alive though, this song and that image made me cry. "What could have been" is right.
*SAD WHEEZING*
Well Im sure Vander would meet them again in season 2, Though I think it won’t end that well…
the fact vi was humming this song at the end ☹️☹️
When I first watched this scene, I was stunned. I couldn't believe just how much was communicated with absolutely no dialogue whatsoever. So much emotion and storytelling communicated through body language, color and music. This scene is a masterclass in show don't tell.
Here after finale..
im not crying, just some dust in my eyes.
Coming back here after hearing Vi hum the tune in the last epsiode. I always really liked this being a "theme" of sorts for the girls, particularly for Powder and later Jinx.
Dude when the image of Vander hugging and embracing his two daughters turn me into tears.
Had to come back to this after the show ended. Goodbye Arcane, I'm excited to see what the future holds for league of legends as a story in this new canon they are forming.
Dude, Samuel and Rachel..... this is GORGEOUS!!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
In the cinematic part. When Vi drops to her knees sobbing, I can 100% feel and relate with her pain of losing her mother and father here.
The expressions and detail is amazing. Very good research into this clearly
I love how Arcane opens up with this... and keeps getting better from there. Hauntingly beautiful cover.
the show stars with powder singing this, and ends with vi humming it. the circle.
2:36 after watching s2 e5....
That hurts.... Soooo much 😭
2:36 The fact that this shot is now (kind of) canon 😭
😭😭😭😭😭😭
had to drop by here after season 2 act 2 😭
2:39 we finally got this in the show 😭
I love this version! It honestly reminds me of “I Am A Poor Wayfaring Stranger”. It sort of has that same calm but haunting melody
Ooh this had such a starting impact in the show can't wait to hear your cover!!
These Arcane covers are literally all I’ve been listening too, thank you for making them! 💙💖
This hits diffrent after 5th episode of season 2

I see that I’m gonna be replaying this a lot after the end of Season 2… welcome back, old friend. 🥲
This song hits different, connecting the start and end of Arcane in such a powerful way. Just beautiful... 🥲
Finally someone did it ! I wanted a full version of this brief song, someone to do a cover... And it's Samuel Kim... With Rachel Hardy ! 2 talented artists 🔥🔥🔥
This really hurts to watch and listen to now knowing that Arcane is officially over, this video really made that realization sink in for some reason and now I’m crying😭 Gosh and knowing that Vi hums this at the end of the last episode of season 2, just a double whammy😢😭 And the art of Powder hugging Vi captures the scene so well and just looking at it makes me emotional, this series will always hold a special place in my heart❤️🩹
This song and score, coupled withe the IMPECCABLE facial animation, got me hooked INSTANTLY.
And voice acting. Some raw emotion from the whole cast.
@@plainlake I mean from the very first scene in the show.
With the exception of Powder's singing, it was completely wordless, and I was STILL immediately hooked.
That's the point I was trying to make.
The " GoodBye" vibe between the verses you've got going is like another gut punch. Well done!
Best family ever: A wolf man, a warrior sister and the crazy genius one.
Glorious Cinema
Thank you so much! I was hoping to see your take on this masterpiece. Also, adding "Goodbye" at 2:08 was a nice touch.
I love how they use this now in season 2...❤❤❤❤😢😢😢
Best series ever, making us remember that all tragedies come from injustice.
Guess it's time to add this one into my Samuel Kim Arcane music list
notice that powder sang this on the first episode of arcane, yet when powder died, so does the song which is symbolized on the start of jinx's final transformation at her fight against ekko. that's why at episode 9, instead of calling for sympathy on piltover, jinx instead destroys it.
idk just thought it out
The voice goes well with the soundtrack, Absolutely beautiful!
So much for this is my last arcane cover
Not complaining tho this is brilliant
This is my final Arcane cover of 2021!
-Samuel Kim
At last, he has accepted the truth that he will never be able to stop making them. Taking a break until end of year and start again in 2022. There's no such thing as "Final Cover" for Arcane! XD
When you think about the lyrics it has a profound impact
I had to cry so much at the end
Dose anybody else cry when this turns on because arcane is over and you can't get the same experience of watching it for the first time again.😭
"No one wins in war, Vi."
-- Vander, the giga chad
There's a reason you are so well known as a great artist... this is one of them. Brava.
This song hits so hard 😢
2:37 Damn, that artwork... Call me softhearted but I cried when I saw it. So nice and touching..
So emotional, especially with Rachel's hauntingly beautiful voice!
I love how the bridge sounded like Goodbye song in the end of the 1st season.
One of the most hard hitting opening of a series ever. It just straight away tells you, this is not going to be an easy lighthearted story, but a brutal world full of dangers and differences. All that in 2 minutes of screen time, told only by sound and picture, with no exposition or dialogue whatsoever. This just tells you how amazing Arcane is, not just as an animation, but a full fledged streaming series of its own
The amount of times the melody of this song shows up in other songs in the soundtrack is mind boggling..
This soundtrack kinda reminded me of The Hunger Games, I’m not really sure why.
Your cover is really beautiful, this was easily one of the best moments of the whole series.
Oh yeah, I see what you mean
Well done Samuel and Rachel! Just wow! Didn't expect any different the moment I heard you would Collab. I've started watching Arcane all over again to see if I can spot subtleties that I didn't see in my first watch. Great series!
Seeing older Vi and Jinx hugging Vander makes me sob so much…
Truly amazing. "...the world below" fits in perfectly. Rachel has a wonderful voice!
That picture of Vandal, Vi and Powder hugging...
let me cry for a while
Damn....
God I love that artwork of Vander, Violet, and Powder all grown up, its so sad that it will never happen again.
They use this song again when Vander reunites with Jinx/Powder!!!
Warwick’s going strong with this one
Finally, a worthy cover for an opening song that put some weight into the powerful and emotional violin entry after the lyrics.
1:18 just hits differently. I'd be lying if I said I didn't shed a tear during this part ;-;. Verry well done!
All I can say is...you've done it again Sam, I look up to your work xD.
Edit: That artwork by Janemere with all three of them embracing each other, I need that ending 😭
When I rewatched this scene when I started my second watch, I just had to hold in my tears. Same with the scene on the bridge. When she hummed the song, I felt immense pain and sorrow in my chest. Shows that are able to make me feel things, those will always stay in my heart
I don't believe how Rachel Hardy only has close to 200K subs. Her voice is literally better than most people in these singing competitions on TV. The covers including this epic one are simply stunning and deserve far more recognition! Let's get her to atleast 3 Million ASAP!🥰🤗👌
Opening the show with little Powder singing and covering her eyes to avoid seeing so much deaths happening is such a direct way to let the viewers know that this show is not for kids.
I don't know who wrote this series but my god they hit all the feels. This music rips your heart, the story tears your soul. I've never played the game but this series has to be one of the best ever made.
2:38 The artist who made this art is a visionary, that's all I have to say 👀
But seriously, that short opening really hit so hard.
Powder singing this song really emphasize that this song has been sung so much that even a kid her age would know it. The situation in Zaun is so bad it show even through their folklore.
It would be interesting to learn more about Vi and Jinx’s parents, through a flashback or Vi telling Caitlyn about them during season 2.
Man I've listened to this song for years. And after watching arcane... It hurts me. Like man this show has made me depressed.
