Tyler Posey has been acting since he was 6 (Collateral Damage, Maid in Manhattan) been in plenty of films and TV series. Dylan O'Brien was his first ever acting part and he is so good later on, Tyler plays a real dork at the beginning. They were both 18 in this and Tyler H (Derek) is 22 and the 2 Tylers met before on plenty of series. All three of them lived together for the first season then Tyler and Dylan for the second. They became firm friends from the auditions and went out together to town that first day.
You know what's so funny, Tyler Hoechlin is only 4 years older than Dylan O'Brian and Tyler Posey. So technically as funny as it is Derek is not that much older than the boys. XD Also Crystal Reed-Allison is 8 years older than Tyler P and Dylan. she was 26 in season 1.

It takes time. I was late 30s and found it semi-interesting. It takes a few episodes but the writing and plot is really awesome. It's interesting that everything leads to the next thing. Like life, like reality. The gay thing...I just accepted as reality. It's fun. Truly fun, but the writing and plot are awesome. My husband was in after the 2nd episode of season 2.

what’s crazy to me is Holland (Lydia) and Crystal (Allison) are older than Tyler Hoechlin 😳 only by 1-2 years but i never would’ve guessed.
I'm pretty sure Derek was supposed to be college-aged right now.
