This game was like best game of the time, it was the first game to add zombies, or I say, try it in the game, and the campaign the just awesome, especially the Russian one, your heart tells to slay every nazi you find and pave your way through, revenge for what they did to motherland, and the multiplayer is also awesome, when you are in a empty server, you will fell scared in the maps, those maps are just unsettling. And also, the voicelines, when starting a match, attaches you to a ideology, to give your life for motherland and etc etc. This is simply the best game ever made.
Infinite Warfare's campaign was way better, and way more emotionally engaging, than it had any right to be. Which is funny, because BF1 was trying to sell itself on tugging the heartstrings, and then completely shot itself in the foot on that front.
Yeah, they fucked that up when they made the Imperial Germans mustache twirling store brand Nazis. In reality, Imperial Germany is a much more sympathetic historical power than its opponents, I remember reading how one of Germany's goals was to make Berlin a center of learning and knowledge for the world, so that people around the globe would come to Germany for an education that they could use in their home countries. The only thing wrong with them was that Kaiser Wilhelm II was legitimately stupid and didn't understand what he was doing in the war, which probably is why they lost. It's truly a shame that Imperial Germany was dismantled, I've heard his son and heir would have been an excellent ruler for either war or peace. Also leaving the German monarchy alone would have prevented Hitler's rise, which was thanks to the democracy set up by the allies after the war. Battlefield 5 actually does manage to do what Battlefield 1 failed at, especially so with The Last Tiger, where we get an actual German campaign for the first time ever in a game. And you get a nice Tiger tank too. I won't spoil anything if you haven't played it, but honestly its worth the price of the game and IMO is best played after the other 4 war stories to really hammer home what was happening on the other side of your gun.
@@redeye4516 It was especially frustrating because the game played up a big deal of how respectful to the conflict it was going to be, and how there's a human being behind every gunsight, and then what do you get after the prologue? I mean, you go to all that trouble to style yourself as a more thoughtful and meaningful reflection on the humanity of the Great War's rank and file, and then not even have playable Central Powers missions? Fuck off! I have little good to say about BFV, *but* from what I've seen, The Last Tiger was, incredibly enough, an actually nuanced and sophisticated depiction of German troops in the dying months of the war. Which is all the more impressive considering this was the game to put us all on the right side of history and let us teach our daughters about conflict.
