Kaiba: My Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon is so unstoppable even Yugi couldn’t defeat it! (Maybe that’s because you were about to kill yourself if Yugi attacked to win)
The other shenanigan is that Celtic Guardian cannot be destroyed by monsters with 1900 or more attack points, so Yugi would've still survived another turn.
Kaiba, Yugi, Pegasus, Joey, etc. all are supposed to be world class duelists, but act completely surprised at every move their opponent does. It's like none of them have ever heard of anyone using any cards other than the ones they use in their own deck.
Yugi VS Kaiba (Round 2, Face-Off at Duelist Kingdom) Both players will start with 2000 LP. Since Kaiba and Yugi are dueling using the Duel Disk Prototype, each duelist's hands can contain a maximum of 5 cards only, and only 1 monster can exist on either player's field at a time. This also allows for swapping monsters between the field and hand for even more strategy depth. All Spell and Trap cards in the hand are considered to be set on the field, and can activate at any time, given the right conditions. Turn 1: Kaiba summons Ryu-Kishin Powered (ATK/1600 DEF/1200) in attack position. His hand contains Battle Ox (ATK/1700 DEF/1000), Saggi the Dark Clown (ATK/600 DEF/1500), Ancient Lamp, and Blue-Eyes White Dragon (ATK/3000 DEF/2500). Turn 2: Yugi summons Curse of Dragon (ATK/2000 DEF/1500) in attack position. Curse of Dragon attacks and destroys Ryu-Kishin Powered (Kaiba LP 2000 → 1600). Yugi's hand contains Multiply, Monster Replace, Dark Magician (ATK/2500 DEF/2100), and Eye of Truth. Turn 3: Kaiba summons Swordstalker (ATK/2000 DEF/1600) in attack position. Swordstalker's apparent ability activates. If there is a monster in Kaiba's graveyard, its ATK increases by 20% (ATK/2000 → 2400). Swordstaker attacks Curse of Dragon, but Yugi activates Monster Replace as a Quick-Play Spell, which allows him to switch Curse of Dragon out for Dark Magician. Dark Magician counterattacks and destroys Swordstalker. (Kaiba LP 1600 → 1500) Turn 4: Yugi summons Curse of Dragon in attack position, yet it stays in Yugi's hand. Turn 5: Kaiba summons La Jinn, the Mystical Genie of the Lamp (ATK/1800 DEF/1000) in attack position. Turn 6: Dark Magician attacks La Jinn, but Kaiba activates Ancient Lamp. The attack against La Jinn is negated and reflected back to Curse of Dragon, destroying it (Yugi LP 2000 → 1500). Yugi sets a card. Yugi's hand is later shown to contain Horn of the Unicorn, Swords of Revealing Light, Multiply, and Eye of Truth. Turn 7: Kaiba's hand contains Saggi the Dark Clown, Battle Ox, and Blue-Eyes White Dragon. Kaiba draws De-Spell and combos it with La Jinn. La Jinn destroys Swords of Revealing Light. Turn 8: Yugi sets a card (revealed to be Mystic Box) and resummons Dark Magician. He then activates Eye of Truth, which reveals Kaiba's hand to Yugi. Yugi then activates Mystic Box, targeting both Dark Magician and Ancient Lamp. Mystic Box destroys Ancient Lamp. Dark Magician attacks and destroys La Jinn. (Kaiba LP 1500 → 800) Turn 9: Kaiba sets a card (revealed to be Crush Card Virus) and summons Saggi the Dark Clown (ATK/600 DEF/1500) in defense position. Turn 10: Yugi calls back Dark Magician and summons Gaia the Fierce Knight (ATK/2300 DEF/2100) in its place. Gaia attacks and destroys Saggi, but this causes Kaiba to activate Crush Card Virus. If a DARK monster with less than 1000 ATK is destroyed by battle, all monsters with more than 1500 ATK on Yugi's field and hand are instantly destroyed, and any monsters with more than 1500 ATK in Yugi's deck become unplayable (If he does play them, the continuous effect of Crush Card Virus will destroy them instead). Turn 11: Kaiba passes his turn. Turn 12: Yugi draws Summoned Skull (ATK/2500 DEF/1200), but it can't be played due to Crush Card Virus. He summons Silver Fang (ATK/1200 DEF/800) in defense position instead. Turn 13: Kaiba draws his second Blue-Eyes White Dragon but summons Battle Ox in attack position instead. Battle Ox attacks and destroys Silver Fang. Kaiba's hand is shown to have Gift of the Mystical Elf and two Blue-Eyes White Dragons. Turn 14: Yugi summons Griffore (ATK/1200 DEF/1500) in attack position. He then activates Horn of the Unicorn, equipping it onto Griffore and raising its ATK by 700 (ATK/1200 → 1900). Griffore is unaffected by Crush Card Virus. Griffore attacks and destroys Battle Ox. (Kaiba LP 800 → 600) Turn 15: Kaiba draws his third Blue-Eyes White Dragon, but first he activates Gift of the Mystical Elf, which recovers his LP by 300 for each monster active on the field. As of this moment, Yugi's Griffore is the only monster on the field (Kaiba LP 600 → 900). He then summons Blue-Eyes White Dragon in attack position. Blue-Eyes attacks and destroys Griffore. (Yugi LP 1500 → 400) Turn 16: Yugi summons Giant Soldier of Stone (ATK/1300 DEF/2000) in defense position. Turn 17: Kaiba draws Polymerization and subsequently activates it, fusing the Blue-Eyes on his field with the other two in his hand to form Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon (ATK/4500 DEF/3800). Blue-Eyes attacks and destroys Giant Soldier of Stone. Turn 18: Yugi draws Kuriboh (ATK/300 DEF/200) and subsequently summons it in defense position. He then activates Multiply, targeting Kuriboh and creating infinite copies of it. Yugi cannot take any battle damage while Kuriboh is being multiplied. Turn 19: Blue-Eyes attacks, but Yugi's LP are unaffected. Turn 20: Yugi reveals Mammoth Graveyard (ATK/1200 DEF/800), Polymerization, and Living Arrow. He fuses Mammoth Graveyard with Living Arrow and has it equip onto Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon. For each of Kaiba's turns, Blue-Eyes' ATK will decrease by the ATK of Mammoth Graveyard (1200), unless the resulting decrement would cause its ATK to fall below 0. Turn 21: Blue-Eyes' ATK decreases (ATK/4500 → 3300). Blue-Eyes attacks, but Yugi's LP are unaffected. Turn 22: Yugi passes his turn. Turn 23: Blue-Eyes' ATK decreases (ATK/3300 → 2100). Blue-Eyes attacks, but Yugi's LP are unaffected. Turn 24: Yugi passes his turn. Turn 25: Blue-Eyes' ATK decreases (ATK/2100 → 900). Kaiba passes his turn. Turn 26: Yugi draws Celtic Guardian (ATK/1400 DEF/1200) and subsequently summons it in attack position. Celtic Guardian attacks Blue-Eyes and destroys one of its heads (Kaiba LP 900 → 400). Since Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon is a fusion of 3 Blue-Eyes White Dragons, each head has its own ATK. Turn 27: Kaiba draws Monster Reborn and subsequently activates it, reviving the destroyed Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon's head (ATK/3000 DEF/2500). Turn 28: At this point in the duel, Yugi and Atem are having a mental battle with each other. Will Atem stop at nothing to win? Or will he show empathy and spare Kaiba from certain death? Atem orders Celtic Guardian to attack one of the weakened Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon's heads, but Yugi steps in and calls off the order. Turn 29: Blue-Eyes White Dragon attacks and destroys Celtic Guardian. (Yugi LP 400 → 0) Kaiba wins.

Is no one else talking about how crappy and impractical these duel disks are? When you lose a monster, it just gets flung off because there’s no graveyard, and aside from the one square in the middle, the monster zone is the same as the spell/trap zone, which triples as your hand, so what if you have more than five cards? Do you just hold the sixth?

The finger wag from Dark Magician was extra petty

@@jdmyrick-smith7931good. Fuck Kaiba.
Kaiba rotting from the inside out doing whatever it takes to win. Poor Yugi
I'm convinced the monsters have personalities, because Dark Magician was petty with that ☝🏽 hand movement 💀

You still lose life points even if Celtic Guardian survive
This was OG Celtic Guardian not Obnoxious Celtic Guardian
It's obnoxious celtic guardian effect card which yugi didn't use till later. This is the normal monster

Imagine if Living Arrow was printed as a variant of Super Polymerization that gave your opponent the resulting fusion monster.
The Mammoth Graveyard and Living Arrow Fusion is the ultimate ass-pull.
Why kaiba wasn't able to attack after he used monster reborn?
Shenanigans?
In the manga, special summoned monsters can't attack the turn they're summoned.
In the anime, partially reborn monsters can't immediately attack.
That would be true, except that the rule was created during Battle City, not Duelist Kingdom
Does it bother anybody else that kaiba didn't have to make a threat of suicide because he would have won his next turn anyways.
Kicker is Kaiba survived the fall out that window of the cliff.
