I struggle so much with Humility and fighting against my stubborn pride, even today I fell to it, and shortly after is when I saw this video - that’s God’s timing for you! What an amazing saint…I pray that he will pray I can become more humble and remember God’s commands even when I’m stubborn and defensive. Glory to God!

I was raised in Christian Missionary Alliance, Wesleyan, Baptist and Presbyterian churches. My mother is now with Jehovahs Witnesses. I was caught up in the world of the Occult for a very long time. Now am I am seeking to become Orthodox Christian. Orthodoxy is foreign to most everyone I know. But i find fulfillment and wisdom and true guidance of the Holy Spirit in Orhodoxy. I am enjoying the teachings of the church fathers and learning about the Orthodox saints.
I am a convert to greek orthodoxy,Dont let go get baptise.
I thank God daily that He led me to the truth of Holy Orthodoxy. ☦️

My parish just added an icon of this Saint to our iconostasis this week. And now after seeing it for the first time today I see this wonderful story about his humility. Wow!
St. Macarius' evening prayers are the best in my prayer book. Very humility-focussed.

Very good. Thank you! If I may have a comment about the costumes. It will be better if the attire of those days is used, particularly the Coptic tunic.
Old iconography doesn't depict the desert fathers of Egypt like modern Coptic monks. They probably wore incredibly simple clothes and probably less elaborate than modern ones. Having said that we feel that making them look like modern Copts does not fit and would be anachronistic. We wouldn't dress an ancient saint from the Greek peninsula like a modern Greek priest for instance. It would not fit with the period. Most ancient images of macarius don't look like modern copts. @@Trisagionfilms Yes, Fr., this is what I meant. I meant it would be good to draw people wearing the tunics of the period during the Roman times. These are still called Coptic tunics. The Egyptians in those times wore these distinctive attires.
We made them look like desert fathers. There are only two scenes with them. I am not a Father but will try to look at old Egyptian monastic attire in the future. All and all they look like desert elders. Thank you for the input
