Trying a Luxurious Overnight Ferry in Japan | Kyushu to Kobe

  • I took a luxurious overnight ferry from Kyushu to Kobe in Japan. I tried first class deluxe single, which was the best option for solo travelers. It was great value for the price.
Hankyu Ferry offers more rooms onboard, such as royal, suite and Japanese style. But solo travelers have to pay extra fees to book bigger rooms. I definitely recommend first class deluxe single (no extra fee) if you are traveling alone.
There are lots of options to travel Japan by overnight ferry. For example,

It’s very interesting to me to see just how different our breakfast choices are.
    Remarkable!
You have many items for your traditional Japanese breakfast that to most Americans would be considered dinner items 😀
The fish, veggies and rice specifically.
The foods you eat in most of your posts seem to be, in general, much healthier than the American diet.
Smaller portions, more variety on a plate and healthier food 🍽👍🏼

I am sure once covid goes away your channel will make these ferries very popular. Your videos will become very important in later years as archival footage of these ferries to future generations. Your about information should provide a little more background information as to why you decided to do them, it almost like train spotting in the UK. Congrats keep posting very enjoyable to watch, thank you.

Japan ferries are the best. Here in indonesia we also have second-hand japanese ferry most of them used previously on aomori-hakodate route.
There are Ex-Silver Ferry's VEGA (now Dharma Rucitra) and Ex-Tsugaru Kaikyo Ferry's VIRGO (Now Jemla VIRGO-18). As i can observe these ferries are similar both on accommodation and facilities layout. Even though they used to be on different ferry companies.
Both ferry are now serving Bakauheni-Merak route in Indonesia. And VEGA is the best kept and maintained. They still retain most of the facilities onboard, including original tatami room now used as nursing room. Sadly bathing room are no longer accessible. But surprisingly their escalators and automatic doors are working perfectly.

In April 2018, we got an overnight ferry from Osaka port to Shikoku (the port closest to Imabari). It was 2 adults and 3 kids. We got an 8 bunk dorm room which we had all to ourselves. The ferries all have a range of room sizes and comfort levels. It’s a good way to avoid the cost of a night’s accommodation but travelling at night you miss a lot of the scenery.

I've watched a couple of the these and decided if I lived near one I'd just book a round trip passage and take a couple days off.

Good evening 😃. Upon arrival at Kobe, does the Hankyu Ferry sail back to Kyushu at nighttime?
Thank you so much for taking us with you in your travels 🙏🏻🙇🏻😊

I am really amaze how great the shipping ports are. The terminals are almost like with airports. It is also nice to know most shuttle services in and out of the ports are free of charge.
