I'll answer a few common questions we got from live chat and in comments here. 1. This is a segmented run, which basically means we strung together playing each checkpoint as well as we could and edited that together to show what a "perfect" speedrun could look like. We used custom checkpoints too for more speedy boys. 2. "No Major Glitches" include anything that very heavily alters the way levels are played. The way we're forced to play without them makes for a much better viewing experience. It's a subjective term yes, but at the end of the day we wanted to make something for you all to enjoy. 3. This took us about two months to make playing on and off. Some segments took over 1000 attempts to do to the standard we wanted. 4. We used both KBM and controller depending on what worked better for the section. It was mostly just preference. 5. We chose to do this in Anniversary graphics because they look pretty and gave a fresh spin on the run. 6. Rocats is my dad.

This doesn't actually effect gameplay or anything though. An actual Tool Assisted Speedrun requires something that changes gameplay essentially. Something that plays for you in most cases.

@@ThiefOfBaghdad very late response i know; but if im correct what happens is you throw a grenade which explodes and then causes the banshee to kinda flip. While this is happening YOU are standing on the underbelly of the banshee (which is facing the sky) and as the banshee flips the arm of it collides with and pushes you, making you go mach 14 in the direction its pointed. Kinda like a trebuchet now that i write it out

Nice run, clean execution of classic strats. Great job rocats and Cryphon. Highlights for me: Arbiter/Oracle hallways of course - clean execution. Also that Banshee sideways flying strat is new to me. Waterfall launch is clean - must have taken many attempts to get boosted by the turret like that. 27:45 28:30 Nice swordfly to get out of Off the Rock - didn't realize the Drones flew in from that angle, that's convenient. And flying from one jackal to the other to descend faster, looks really clean. Regret is great. Love how you deal with the platform enemies. 30:05 this clip launch is nuts, is this a thing ppl do in full game now? The blackscreen at 30:15 is new to me, not sure what's going on there. Riding the submarine from the outside is very silly, neat launch at the end. Banshee flip to final platform is crazy. Great use of shoot lunges in SI (not sure what the glitch is called). The pulse launch at the beginning is also creative. I like grenade boosting down the tunnels, makes sense. Dope swordfly at the end of QZ. Gravemind is sick throughout, really nice movement and fighting. Is doing the prison faster than prison skip? Super impressive how quickly you get to Breaking Benjamin room. Uprising and HC are highlights as far as execution, your swordflying and movement is just nuts.
I think they wanted to show the full mission and alternate skips, that's why the didn't do the flood full mission skip on HC... I might be wrong idk...

Imagine you're a covenant on a turrent and you see Master Chief far off in the distance. You go from feeling like you might have the upper hand until you see him suddenly come flying at you at Mach 10 like it's one of those jump scare videos.
Rocats is literally ungovernable, and it honestly terrifies me. I mean, he literally turned Halo 2's Legendary jackal snipers into a speedrunning advantage.
Absolutely incredible work, so many cool tricks and strats executed with real flair. If I might make one criticism though, the music starting to swing and then restarting 5 times over was really tough to bear, I wanted it to kick in so bad! Perhaps recording without music and muxing the soundtrack into the video? Obviously not for this one, but if there's a next time?

It's a pressure launch. I don't know the specifics but my guess is you kinda clip into the geometry and get spat out by the game really fast.
