As someone who had a Mpc2000 xl I think it’s all amazing….as consumers of these products we have to be mindful of how far the technology has advanced since its original product. The stems feature is amazing especially for us Mpc users. Nothing is perfect but that’s when the creativity should shine even more. Can you imagine if Dilla was alive and what he would do with this feature smh or just the new Mpcs as a whole. I can’t wait for this to drop because I’m definitely going back in the vault of samples I collected over the years dating back to my Mpc 2000xl. Great video bro.
For sure. I know there’s hidden gems and techniques by the boatload we haven’t even discovered yet because there’s so many tools to combine in these things now. I’m listening to records totally different now with this feature. There’s definitely a lot more useable material in each record now.

This is the greatest mpc of all time. Because the workflow is just like the 2000, but with added functions without getting in the way. It's just tempting to use the xtra functions.
I agree 💯% I don't use every feature in the machine, but it's nice to know that I can pull out some extra capabilities when they're needed.
When I was using my 2000 back in the late 90s this is so much more than I could have imagined as far as tools. It's like having a MPC, a Triton, a Motif and a VS880 in one box with a speaker lol.

I remember hearing Pitch N Time in Serato for the first time and was astonished at how good it was. And of course it shut all the time stretch haters up. I see MPC Stems eventually shutting the nay sayers up by the end of the summer

I understand what you said about highest quality samples. As an old head DJ (1985) sometimes I want that gritty, dusty, fresh out tha cr8te kinda sound. Got the MPC Live 2 for christmas and man, its like a whole new world. I haven't touched FL Studio or Logic Pro since I got it! I appreciate the videos! I think stems will be big. It’s definitely going to change the way the EQ is used a lot in sampling.
Word. I think with drums it's cool for top end texture, but I think the magic is gonna be in stacking them with clean, full frequency ones.

I used that 2000xl time stretch on A LOT of my stuff early on and it still sound dope to me just as much as the new TS.

People pay 100.00 to get filters that make your sounds less perfect to add “flavor” (pro). But don’t see how those minor imperfections in stems add their own flavors.
True indeed. It adds kind of a cool, graintable type of vibe to certain parts. I can see it getting annoying if it's overused, but on some sounds I think the effect gives it a little rawness or grit.

I Liked That Beat Without The Chime In it More, But Either Way They Both Sounded Professional. I'm So Impressed With AKAI it ain't even Funny, I Got my Live 2 in July 2020 and I Haven't Lost Any Hype For It... Basically It Has GROWN. I LOVE THIS THING Even If The STEMS Don't Be Perfect At First Cause Once You Learn How to Use The Appropriate Plugins You'll Come Up With Something Special... I'd Have A Blast Adding Amp Simp To Bring out Drums and or The Transient Shaper To Bring out Those Snares, High Hats, or Efx's. But Once STANDALONE DROPS, I'M GHOSTIN. 🤣
That makes sense. I think I would only bring the chimes in on the 2nd verse as a variation. I would probably turn them down in the mix some. I left them kinda high so they would be audible in the video 💯
These machines are super capable and there's honestly more features than I could ever use. I forget about certain features sometimes lol. It's dope that they keep adding onto the software/firmware. There's a couple basic features I want more than anything now though like midi import improvement and rearranging FX. Other than those I really can't think of anything that would make the workflow more fun

And Give us Some Compressors That Has Meter's That We Can Use...All Those Buttons Confuse me...I Get It Thou, They Want us To Be Dependent on our Ears, But Why We Can't Have Both Options?

The ppl that complain about the quality of the stems obviously have just as far to go as the technology and have no business being involved in the art if they are expecting perfect stems everytime and are unwilling to learn a little about filtering and eq 'ing.
Yeah, I think the way to look at it is: Stems makes MORE of the record useable, not all of it.
Wowww!!! This track actually sounds Awesome!!! Stems over a beat with other sounds shouldn't sound bad... Sure ANYONE can "judge" the pure stem by itself and how it sounds... But any imperfections more than likely be masked after used in a track.. #Salute Bro!!! And Thanks for Sharing!!!
For sure, I think picking one sound out of a beat isn't always fair to the composition. I don't think every sound/track has to be a masterpiece in itself. 💯

Most of the wait is making sure the rest of the features we already use are still working properly. I'd rather they take their time and not rush out an update that has a lot of issues, but it's cool that they're showing and proving by allowing some of us to show everyone it's real.
