The only character that popped up in the second season was Jackie Kennedy...Debicki said she was so physically wrong for the role, but she couldn't have been worse than the girl that played her.

That shot of all the lights in the house coming on one at a time with the phones ringing took my breath away. What a perfect way of communicating exactly what just happened in the timeline.

It was a surreal experience for my wife and I. We had just finished watching Evita, newly released on VHS, and had turned off the VCR only to see the news. We were already feeling a bit weepy from the movie, and the news magnified our emotions tenfold.
The casting in this show is beyond. Each actor IS the person they are portraying. And Elizabeth Debicki embodies Diana like no one I’ve seen whose attempted. Absolute perfection.

Seeing the lights turn on at Balmoral-makes me cry knowing what that means. The call they’re getting about Diana. This trailer is perfection. Elizabeth is at the highest of her talent here. Cannot wait.
Maybe. The trailers also have a habit of using misdirection, to keep you in a bit of suspense for what scenes are what in the actual series.
In fact, this was recreated in the movie where Naomi Watts is Diana, but in that movie, lights turned on in the windows of buildings around the apartment of Hasnat Khan 😢

Elizabeth is nailing it, the voice is the hardest part and we can hear Diana in her performance. Such a hard role to do. Every award needs to come her way.

Elizabeth Debicki deserves an Emmy for this role. The sheer intensity and depth of how she had to morph herself into Diana is insane! Diana was so distinct; her speech, mannerisms , quirks.... Can you imagine how much time, dedication and effort it took to learn those and then perform them so nonchalantly and naturally? This has to be the best portrayal of Diana I have ever seen.

That’s why it’s going to be so emotional seeing the end played out. I know it goes without saying but no doubt William and the Spencers won’t go near it but I’m not so sure about Harry.

The scene relates to me; I remember Woody.EXE waking up to a missed call from Mummy, Princess of Wales and her words of “I’m so sorry to say this but, your Queen isn’t very well” the stress in Woody.EXE was real especially when he announced the news about me his Queen not being well at all to his people saying “it is with the greatest regret that I inform you all that the Queen isn’t feeling well, all my thoughts are with her mother, Princess of Wales during this difficult time”. The whole of Wales was absolutely grief stricken and Woody.EXE was very brave to do that. 2023 has been the most tragic year in our reign so far with me almost dying
Of all actreses who played Diana, Elizabeth nailed it! She has a resemblance to the late princess, and even her manerisms and the ways she speaks so similarly to Diana. I can't wait to watch this season.

I imagine it's somewhat easy for an Australian to pull off a South-East English accent, but Debicki even manages to pull off a received pronunciation accent, whilst looking exactly like Diana. She really was made for this role. Perfect casting.
This is the best Diana portrayal so far in all of the movies/series based on her.....absolutely spot on!

This show is straight up the peak of what television can offer as an artform. It's been such a journey and I hate to see it go but I'm glad they'll get to close out the story they wanted to and go out on top 🙏👑

@@CHAELISASURVIVEDTHECOLDWAReverything about the royal family is fictional unless officially said the palace. The problem with this show is that the monarch keeps things to himself (an idea of not showing anything to the people is a driving conflict in the season 1) so stuff you see in the series relies on leaks, a friend of a friend word of mouth and unofficial biographies. And other half is fictional.
It's a great TV series and rightfully earned many rewards but it's mostly a dramatised version of events.
If you are looking for a documentary then it's not here but otherwise give it a go

The way this trailer focused mostly on Princess Diana showcase that she's the Royal Family icon that's absolutely timeless and will never be forgotten. I was born right after she passed away yet i missed her so much 😢
Unfortunately, The Crown, which started out wonderful, is taking advantage of Diana's tragic figure, William, Harry's fragile mental state (Lord help him when he wakes up), and most sickly HM. In over a millennium of the British Royal Family, all it's Kings and Queens, there is but 1 star that shown brighter than all the rest. Who wasn't supposed to be the Monarch, at least not at 25, but lived up her duty until the very end and literally & figuratively became the Queen of the World.
Oh goooood enoooough she didn't even wear the crown!
It also shows The Crown has strayed away from what made it so compelling and masterful in the first place. Now it's just a show about Diana with a half-assed memberberry collage of modern famous royal news events alongside it.

This season is going to be emotional. My mam watched the wedding of Charles and Diana and she and her children watched her funeral. I still remember my sister waking me up and said that Diana had died. It was like hearing a family member had passed away. That's why she was the people's Princess. She was loved and adored by all of the British nation and the world over, and perhaps that was the issue with the media, the world couldn't leave her alone. She was a human being on the front line of the world's stage.
I watched the wedding with my grandparents and the news of her death with my daughter. I remember both vividly. Heart-wrenching.

Elizabeth Debicki is the most perfect actress to play Princess Diana in the 1990s. Diana would've been so proud to see what Debicki had accomplished with her role. I'm scared to see how they're gonna handle her final year, it's going to be so heartbreaking

Diana famously HATED portayls of her and called them "tasteless". She wasnt famous a short amount of time. Almost 2 decades. She had seen portrayals of her while she was alive.

Just watched season 6 part one and OMG. Elizabeth’s portrayal of Diana is AMAZING. Growing up in the 80s and 90s, Diana being everywhere I had her mannerisms memorized and here she nails em all. I hope she gets an award for this.
The first part of the final season is gonna be heart wrenching, especially for those of us who were there when it all happened.
I still remember exactly where I was when I heard the news. I was camping and it came across on a portable radio (no smartphones in those days yet). We were all stunned into silence. She was my age. When she got engaged, I thought how different her life was to mine. She was marrying a prince, and I was working a terrible summer job over university break. But once everything came out, it was clear her life wasn't so golden after all. She did wonderful work, though, in spite of all her personal chaos, and I'm glad that's what she's mainly remembered for.
I was at a take-out place picking up my family's food order. There was a tv on the wall in the corner and a newscaster broke in to the program. I couldn't believe what I was hearing, it was shocking. 😔 Put the tv on at home and the awful news was being told by every channel I flipped to. 😔

@@carolineberry3169Really? But that’s possible. The Queen wanted to keep them in Scotland, which probably was a bad idea, but where they were protected from the press. There had never been a state funeral for the ex-wife of a prince before. They didn’t have a blueprint for it, and they have one for every single royal funeral. Blair did think the funeral was necessary. The boys walking seems to have caused lasting damage.

@@professorbutters The rumour has swirled around for years. There was a channel 5 documentary about the 7 days after Diana died. Anji Hunter who is Adam Boulton's wife was working as Tony Bliars assistant at the time spoke about it on the documentary. It was also confirmed in Adam Boulton's book. I think it would have been better when The Queen kept the boys in Balmoral there should have been a statement released saying they were looking after the boys. Instead there was nothing.
I'll never forget when she died, I was only a kid but even on the cartoon networks there was a scrolling banner along the bottom of the screen asking you to click over to the news networks for an important announcement. It was covered probably as much as 9/11 was, it really was a huge world event up there in scale with the Berlin wall coming down and 9/11. And yes, it was a very suspicious death that absolutely was not as was reported. CCTV of the tunnel where the crash happened just happened to not be working that night? Tells you all you need to know

As a child the only time I ever saw my father cry was the day after Diana passed. He just silently shed tears while taking me to school. I had never even heard of her but I saw the impact she left behind, even in rural NH.

I heard Harry asked them not to do this season years ago with the death of his mother but changed his mind so they proceeded (I work in production). I wonder what made him change his mind. Perhaps to show the world who his mother was in another way one last time.

I'm so grateful that this series will open upcoming generation's eyes to reality of a woman who wanted nothing but love and acceptance. Every second of this trailer sent a chill down my spine. I was bawling my eyes out at the end. Princess Diana will forever be in our hearts. Her voice will never go out of existence. She was a woman of grace, dignity, kindness. Kudos to the brilliant cast. Claire foy, Vanessa Kirby, Imelda Staunton, Elisabeth Debicki, Helna Carter, Olivia Coleman and Emma Corrin Nailed It! One of my all time favourite shows. Can't wait for this masterpiece!

I can already feel how absolutely heartbroken I m going to be with the last seasons storyline. What a wonderful and remarkable series The Crown has been. Going to miss it dearly when it comes to it's end.
I'll never forget that night, ever. When the reports started coming in, they said she was in an accident, then went about evening, thinking "hope she doesn't land in the hospital". After a few more scattered reports we finally heard those words "Princess Diana has died". Time stopped, the world stopped. How... it was just a little accident, this can't be really happening. Devasting.
I think this season will leave everyone especially who witnessed Diana with a broken heart. I mean by watching only the trailer, and listening to the depiction of the sadness of her voice, the pain in her eyes and the lost in her sight....they all brought all those memories like yesterday...!

I got straight up chills during the trailer. I hope season 6 is better scrited than season 5. Season 5 lacked something in my opinion but i have a feeling Season 6 will be amazing. It's covering an extremely emotional historical event. The casting is on point. Can't wait.

The reason why S5 was lacking I think was because there was so much build up but no real climax at all. S6 will obviously be the climax of what S5 was building up, which is Diana's death.
@@kilgore1863 I agree! I thought that season 5 would end with Diana's death and I was confused why it was moving so slowly. When it ended with her meeting Dodie, I was surprised and realized that the whole season was buildup for next season.
I thought it was just me but season 5 didn't give me what I expected and I love McNulty (Dominic West). The only episode that captured my interest was the intro to Dodi's birth. I hope Season 6 is better but Im watching either way!

I really wish there was less attention on the Diana story. S1 - 4 were superb because it was multidimensional with all the characters and so much depth. I wanted to know about the queen’s story, Margaret’s, Anne’s, and Philip’s… not just an obsession about Diana’s very well publicized life.
This actually brought me to tears. Well done to everyone involved in bringing these most difficult times from that era to our screens in such a decent way.

Such a brillant performance of Diana! I was a child when she died and that morning the people shocked about heartbreaking news. Literally, Istanbul got silence that all week. The world loved her so much.

The most tragic season of all and the trailer is giving me chills... I was 17 when Diana was cruelly taken from us, so this season will hit harder than previous ones... the shock, disbelief and heartbreak of hearing the news was palpable. Diana was beautiful inside and out. The whole cast of this show has been phenomenal... portraying the Royal Family, especially Diana is a huge task but it has been outstanding.

Whatever you think of this series there is no doubt that Elizabeth Debicki is utterly incredible as Princess Diana, her mannerisms and voice, combined with her body language and looks are just spellbinding and haunting in this role. She deserves awards for her performance.
To those who love historical dramas, I recommend you try out "The Crown". In short, it portrayed the British monarchy, weaving historical events with personal narratives. The production quality is extraordinary, with amazing navigation on the complexities of power, duty, and personal life within the royal family across different eras. The series offers a insight on the challenges faced by the monarchy, showcasing the human side of historical figures while providing a compelling narrative of British history. Credits to Neflix on this masterpiece, it's definitely one of my favorites❤
this series is perfect i'm impress in how Elizabeth Debicki really looks like Diana, only this teaser gave me chills the person who did this deserves a raise, the emmy and even an oscar...can not wait for this epic finale

This will be such a hard season to watch but bittersweet to say goodbye to. It has such an amazing cast over the years and beautifully written. I hope it receives much award recognition this upcoming year. May Diana continue to rest peacefully as she never could in this life and live on in our hearts.
The day Diana died i was at Kualalumpur Airport. Never forget the day . Elizabeth and Emma have done brilliant job. Season 6 episode 4 is very emotional.

I actually got teary-eyed watching that trailer.
I never watched this show but now I think I'll binge-watch it from the beginning since I've always had a fascination with the late Princess Diana even though I was born in 1998, a year after her death.
The first 2 are incredible, the 3rd and 4th seasons are different but still strong. Season 5 was a bit weaker but still worth seeing.
