    I bought this for my friend for his birthday as we just moved into a new house and he finally has room for a workshop. The bench was very easy to set up ruclips.net/user/postUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh They center support is a little difficult to snap in and out of place at first but at least then we know the bench is secure. It was a pleasant surprise when we saw it came with clamps. I apparently missed that in the description. My friend loves the versatility of the bench. Great starter bench for his workshop and easily transportable all over our property. I wish the bench was a little taller but the other features of the bench more than make up for that.

    How does this hold up with multiple car entries each day? How about engine oil and drippings from road grime? How about moisture infiltration from under floor causing mold growth? A lot of questions beyond the initial good looks.

    I think this would be fine for tinkering. But not any real work. I have 3 tool chests that would sink into it and get stuck. I cant weld near it as slag would melt into it if not catch it on fire. I could not jack a car up as the jack would press into the rubber and the jack stands would become large cookie cutters. But maybe in a woodworkers shop or plumbers shop it would be fine.

  • @jeffrandall4046
    @jeffrandall4046 4 года назад +1

    Good topic. Some questions though....how do you make sure the two edges, of the two sheets, are straight and match up perfectly? Did you apply cement to area covered by tape? If not, does it still lay flat? How did you get the flooring under the heavy cabinets? Is this material suitable for a garage? If so, what do you suggest for edging/transition to outside? What would you estimate cost per sq ft to be? I'm sure there are many more questions.

    • @claytoncolgan2881
      @claytoncolgan2881 4 года назад +1

      I am no expert by any means, just a DIY'er perhaps considering vinyl flooring for his garage. But if I were to guess, I would take cross-wise measurements at various parts of the room, making sure that your measuring tape is parallel. I'd probably take this approach myself because there is never a room that is perfectly square so you might get 10' on the nose on one end of your garage, and sometimes as much as 10' 2' on the other end! Ultimately, I'm trying to avoid seams in general for this reason. Some companies offer custom size rolls so I'd stick with them unless you have a very large space.

    So it's "good looking," but you didn't test "functional." Does the vinyl resist tire abuse? What happens when you turn vehicle wheels? Does it deform or rip? What about hot tires, fresh off a hot highway trip? Does the vinyl melt? More diligence is needed here.

      These were the mats I originally wanted but opted for a thinner vinyl mat for nearly half the price. 15 years later, my mats have held up quite well here in the DC area with the different seasons and with me being the average DIYer for my cars. With the exception of turning the wheels sharply as it would grab the mat due to the lack of thickness (my solution would be to place a piece of cardboard or newspaper under the tires to eliminate the friction but since I have a standard two car garage, I rarely have to turn my wheels), I no tire marks or marks from using my jacks. So w/that said, I could only imagine that these mats in this video would hold up quite nicely. Hope that helps!
