I am trying to understand what specifically sounds so good to you. It sounds like every decent analogue synth. What about those patches qualifies as a signature sound? This is a 100% good faith inquiry; I'm currently feeling like when someone hypes up a vegan restaurant and it takes exactly like every other vegan restaurant.

@@synthsamuraiproductions yes! and I see what you mean... with the spread cranked, what you're hearing is essentially two oscillators through some very nice sounding filters. It's like taking two MiniMoogs and panning them hard L/R. It sounds great! Zero dispute. Where I'm coming from is that at $2000, it doesn't sound like a signature synth.
Compare it to the Expressive Osmose, which at $1800 has incredible sound design possibilities paired with the most incredible MPE keyboard on the planet.
Compare it to the GCA MotorSynth MkII. Yes, it costs 50% more, but it also has 8 "voices" (literal motors) and sounds like nothing else under the sun. You can pick it out of a composition with 100% accuracy. It's not a sound that everyone loves or can work with, but in competent hands it sounds like something from another reality. Whereas if you blindfold me and play this unit, you could tell me that it was any synth with multiple VCOs.
It sounds like butter, and I would not kick it out of my studio any day. And I don't have a problem with the price! I just think it sounds like what an expensive synth should sound like, which is fucking great. For what it's worth, I feel the same way about most analogue synths. They usually sound great! However, you could get this kind of joy from a Perfourmer, too.
Also, 8 voices is still 2 fewer voices than I have fingers. It's a nit, but it's not nothing.
Ultimately taste and personal preference rules the day. I would love to see you get one into the studio. You should send them this video and ask for one to review.
@@pjforde1978 yeah i hear ya there man 2-3gs for it is way too pricey for a popper like me lol. And definitely not a signature synth like the 3rd wave hydra polybrute 12 or osmose. 100% agree there.
@@synthsamuraiproductions I'd also throw Syntrx II on the list as a comparably priced device that sounds incredible and has a lot of really interesting possibilities. Ultimately, the most precious resource is time, right?

Shout out to you. Love the videos you’ve been putting out. I had a question. I have an opportunity to actually get the Murmux In your opinion, do you think it’s worth the 3000 and would you get the new arteria polybrute 12 over the Murmux?
Ohhhhhh brother such a hard decision. If you have tons of other synthesizers i would say maybe murmux but if you dont have. Big flagship synth yet id go 100% polybrute12. Gun to my coconut right now id pick polybrute12. Id also check out the teo5 with a hydrasynth desktop or 49 key for around same price.
I mean i love the murmux. Limited edition sounds soo good only 300 made. Beautiful aesthetically.

I’ve never even messed with yet so I do have some synthesizers that can do a lot already. I’m still leaning towards that mermaid, I’m just trying to talk myself out of it lolI appreciate the reply. you know, if 8 voices was 5, those are similar specs to the take5. you should look at the take5/teo5 before you buy this.
no, not blown away. edit: the wiggler and that big thing with the 5 touch screens impressed me far more than this for $2k

It is $3k at Perfect Circuit and Detroit Modular, so I think that is pretty much the US price. I am initially impressed and really like Dreadbox in general, but if I am pulling $3k out of my wallet for this I will pull another $600 out and get a Nina. Not even close.

Or did what I did. I got the Nina and the Murmux. Nina is friggin amazing all the way around but I do like the creaminess of the Murmux. However the GS E7 is a close contender to the Murmux and a bit of overlap at times. The E7 is nearly half the price but still has 7 voices.

@@antoniorusso5149 the price of both is the same as a CODE or Omega 8. Not the same flexibility in some ways as 2 separate synths, but it is a SE CODE or Omega 8….
