Yeah, they sold out last fall and then it didn't seem to make sense to post the video until they were back in-stock which they were by Christmas, but decided since there were already holiday discounts, it made more sense to wait until their Spring Sale when people were getting ready for the camping season. 😀 Hope you enjoy!
Love my Exped Deepsleep Mat MW (Couldn't justify the Mega mat at the time but kicking myself for not getting the REI member bundle when I caught it on sale!) for the back of my Forester! Memory foam is closed cell ... traps heat and doesn't compact as well as open cell. As mentioned here Exped uses open cell, also mentioned on the homepages.
It's crazy we in Europe have such hard time getting this one, great prices and availability, except the auto version. Only a few suppliers have 1 or 2 in stock, I just ordered one and it's expensive. For my Model S, should fit very well actually, will update next week when it arrives.
Yep, hopefully that will change soon. Occasionally it'll show up on Amazon as well which can be ordered outside the US, but there definitely needs to be more options. I know the MegaMat Auto is mainly made for the Model Y/X or similar SUV's, but interested to hear about the fit on the Model S. Is that the one you ordered? If so, please update this comment once you test it. Thanks!
Great videos Bryan, probably the best Tesla camping series on RUclips! 👍 Couple of questions, because the rear seats don’t lie completely flat does it make it noticeable if you’re a side sleeper? Also, when using camp mode do you find there’s any condensation issues inside the car in the morning? Thanks.
You can slightly notice it's not 100% flat, but because you sink in a little on the mattress it's not really an issue. I will try to park in a way that it evens it out a bit more or have occasionally used parking blocks, but normally it's not much of an issue. Don't ever have any condensation as Camp Mode seems to regulate the inside just like a house. Although I don't ever do any really cold winter camping, but down to the 20's or 30's I haven't noticed any. Hope that helps and thanks for watching 😀

I use the megamat duo medium double in my Subaru Outback. I flip the rear seat headrests around for a perfect fit. 90% deflated also makes a nice yoga mat. I guess this mat would also fit in a Y. If ground clearance was a bit higher in a Y, I would trade in my Outback. Forest service roads in the Pacnw recommends 8” ground clearance.
Is there lift kits available for the Y? Pretty sure that someone somewhere has made a lift kit for it. I know there’s aluminium bash plates available for them as well

Hi Brian, Love your videos! I’m considering buying one of these mattresses… looks great! Any suggestions for what to do if I get a flat tire when I’m in the middle of nowhere? I’m eager to do some traveling but not sure what I would do if a tire goes flat. Thanks in advance for your help.

That should work for most issues until you can get to an auto shop. I do however have AAA Premier membership which includes 1x200 mile tow per year and 2x100 mile tows per year. I've only had to use it once, but it was a life saver. Tesla also has towing in the Tesla app, but that's usually only within 50 miles of a Tesla service center so won't help much if out traveling in remote areas.

Hi Bryan, Is the Coleman Butane a solid unit (reliable) and fuel is accessible. I'm going to give a travel test with the Tesla MYP. With your recommendation I purchased a MEGAMAX single ; blown away with quality and price. Don't want drop a bunch of $$$ on unproven gear, but don't want to cheap out and be disappointed with quality. Ive done 1000's of miles touring by bike and know 1st hand it's pay me now or pay me later I ve always used an REI MSR stove fro the last 20+ years, don't want do the liquid fuel and regular maintenance. Mahalo
It's definitely solid. No issues at all and is pretty low cost so I've been super happy with it. Butane isn't great for super cold weather, but as long as you're not camping in temps under 40º is should work really well for you. I've gotten my butane canisters from Walmart or Sam's Club and used two canisters over a year so cost is very low.

I would say my current one which is the ACO Power Model Y Fridge/Freezer on Amazon. I'll be doing a video on it at some point soon, but it's probably my favorite. Also $200 off right now. Hey Gary! I've actually filmed it a while ago and included it part of it in one of my camping videos in Moab, but haven't been able to edit the full one as I've been helping my family with some health issues as of late.
It's fantastic and works just as good as the Jackery at a much more reasonable price. Plus gets over 3500 lifecycles which is a heck of a lot more and is a tad bit lighter.
I actually have gotten a couple more similar models from other companies the last couple months I'll be doing reviews on so if you're interested in my OUPES at a really nice discount let me know. I can only have so many of each item before my storage unit fills up so try to offer them to viewers at a discount when I'm done with them.

Coincidentally the shape of the auto version is mummy shaped, just as my tent, so would be great for my Tesla and my tent. Not so many mummy shaped ones available in this better quality.
