Things I wish they add or fix are
1. They add the Glacier map. It feels weird to fight Android 13 or DBS Broly anywhere but the ice map
2. Speaking of Android 13, hope they add Androids 14 and 15 from his movie.
3. Fix Teen Gohan, make him a tiny bit taller, slimmer or fix his oversized head.
4. And I hope they add Teen Gohan’s orange gi outfit from the Bojack movie as well as having the finishing move he does on Bojack when you have the outfit equipped
There has been a leak with bojack movie teen gohan so I have no doubt that it will definitely be dlc
BT3 had a traditional story mode that covered every Saga including the movies as well as a few what if stories. in addition you also had the dragon ball challenge mode with like at least 50 different challenges to complete with the final boss being SSJ4 Gogeta on steroids.
Sparking zero by comparison if looking at only the offline single player content is widely lacking as while the what if options are genuinely interesting and fun additions, they are ultimately half baked as they are either not explored fully or some characters just flat out don't have all of their story content to begin with (Vegeta as an example).
That said, I would absolutely love a Co-op tag team mode similar to fighterz where you make a team of 3 and each of your friends controls one of the 3 fighters (for fusions just have whichever player who initiated the fusion transformation control the fusion character).
Project L basically. They are the only ones doing this right now. There are a couple indie fighters that did it though but arent that good
To be honest, Vegetas' story was rather disappointing. I was kinda hoping for more than the end of Z.
There was a branching path goku had that I would have loved to see Vegetas part in... I think they may have seen it as an oppurtunity for custom battles unfortunately

Yeah agreed, but Piccolo & Trunks had even worse stories. Piccolo's ends with the androids/cell saga & trunks is tge exact opposite of Vegeta, having the future saga from DBS but none of Z, so no mecha frieza even though frieza has it, no super trunks vs perfect cell, none of that. Only Super

This review is weird to me. The complaints regarding the stopping point of the Goku story were made a non issue since a long time ago as they themselves confirmed what we would cover (going from the Saiyan Saga up to the Tournament of Power).
Expecting Manga only Arcs such as Moro and Granola was way too much given the 'rights issue'. Vegeta was truly done dirty though in his story mode. You running into that glitch that traumatized you so drastically into quitting until fixed was beyond funny to me.
I believe the reason we lost a good chunk of story battles was because of the low map variety. For example we lack the Artic map which could have been used for Broly (as well as 2 other DBZ movies). Most importantly we are missing the Nameless Planet arena from the Universe 7 VS Universe 6 arc which pretty much made them cut it all of it out. We even lack a space map that could have been used for the Beerus VS Goku fight or even a Bardock flashback fight. Other ones are Hell, Kami's Lookout, Beerus' Planet, etc.
I truly hope that they add more maps because that is the biggest problem atm in my opinion (besides the whole balancing online fiasco) as it would expand the what if creations further.

While I can see the criticisms of the single player content for the price of the game, in terms of the BT franchise, I don't see how its that much different from what we saw in 3. That game also skipped a lot of battles, important story beats, had limited playable characters and the cutscenes were just characters standing around talking. I think multiple campaigns and what if branches are a cool addition that expands the story beyond what was before. It doesn't cover every saga or movie, but I don't think I needed it to. We have Kakarot for in-depth coverage of the story and polished cutscenes, Sparking Zero focuses more on the feeling of the fight in battle, just like the previous BT games. Some things could have been done better, for sure, but I don't mind the sacrifices made for this result.

I wish more what-ifs explored future events like Goku surviving Raditz did, or Frieza winning Ressurection F and choosing his team for the Tournament of Power. So many are just "what if you beat the villain early" with a small slide, making them feel bland, or Goku Black being like 5 different versions of the same ending since it's all in the same battle.
I suppose I could understand more Super content since this is the first game that really takes you through the main story proper, even if it was a little overkill
Each of those big sagas what if is in each story mode.in goku there is 3 in vegeta 2 in gohan 2 technically 1 but feel like 2,piccolo 1 future trunks 2 ish ,goku black it’s weird but i say more of 1,jiren 1 and frieza has 1.5
I was shocked that Vegeta's story ended at the end of Z. Meanwhile Gohan gets a fully fleshed out "what if" scenario on the terrible goku black arc.
Should of had less what ifs and more fleshed out story modes for what's already there. (Also timestamps would help the video a lot imo)
Tbh i wasn't expecting much from the story mode here.. i just wanted to know if the gameplay was as good if not better than bt3. And on that case this is totally worth it. If i wanted a good story I'll just play kakarot

Finally someone gets it. You know what's funny is that these people don't seem to know what they want. I remember when Kakarot came out and it advertised that the game would focus heavily on the story of DBZ and people were complaining that it was the same story for the 20th time and they would pass on it. Now Sparking Zero is here and they are complaining that we're not getting that same in depth story that they passed on with Kakarot? Get out of here with that, I'm convinced they are complaining just to complain.

I did love it though it's far from perfect.
One thing i find super weird is the total lack of the universe 6 vs 7 touranment. Like theres no inclusion of it despite that being where cabba and hit are introduced. They just skip straight from resurrection F to the goku black arc. It wasnt until i went into the world tourney modes that i realized they didnt even have a stage for the tournament of destroyers. Its crazy that they dont have things like that or Vegeta's ssb evolved as part of his story. I still absolutely love the game, but some things are truly confusing
I chuck up every single "missing" concept in this game to things they will eventually shell out as DLC. This is going to be without a doubt the biggest milking-machine of extra purchases in the DB video game history since Xenoverse 2. I'm not super against it as long as they piecemeal it in such a way I can pick and choose what additional characters/maps I care to add, with bundles every once in a while.
Damn that sucks, I was expecting a T.O.P. arc . The one arc that we haven't seen covered in a DBZ game just gets skipped lol.

i was sad on the vegeta story as well. The movies too, i kept expecting to be taken off course on the goku saga to a movie arc. I hope they add them later in dlcs atleast

Some good points of criticism but I feel your bias is showing in a couple of places. I also hate Super, but I don't think the game is lesser because they covered those arcs and not the movies or GT. The game already has so much characters and content that it's silly to expect it would cover every battle ever as well. The multiple what if branches, having all those characters from BT3, the custom battle mode, etc.
There's never been a DBZ game that has absolutely everything you'd want in it, and this one should be commended for getting as close as it did. Yeah, its weird that Vegeta doesn't get a Super arc, but you already fight Zamasu, Universe 7 and Universe 11 so much in the other campaigns, we didn't need a repeat of that. If you hate fighting Caulifla and Kale so much, I think you'd appreciate not doing that with Vegeta. Some sacrifices had to be made for the game to end up as it did, and for the most part, I'll take them. Just add more maps for online and offline and I'm satisfied.
I'd happen to agree with this. It was frustrating to see that a lot of the criticism comes from a place of not liking Super. The game was heavily marketed around the Super content because as mentioned in the video this game is one of the first to cover the full plot of the anime, and I began tuning out the review the moment he was talking about extending the Namek arc instead of the Tournament of Power because "Namek is better." Like yeah I'm sure most fans would agree with him but that's a subjective take and didn't really feel like he was giving a review anymore, just complaining about DBS and the fact that it didn't have the exact side modes he wanted
I really wanted a Mission 100 type of challenge mode. People were complaining about the story mode’s AI and I feel a challenge mode would have been perfect for it
I 100% agree about the way the levels look. I can’t stand the unreal maps. They should’ve made it look more anime style. Jump force looked the same way
More characters and maps, this game would have been near perfect. I would have personally liked a better story mode, but it's not a huge deal. It's the lack of characters AND maps from the previous game that sours it a bit for me but overall i would rate 8/10.
The gameplay is very good, I just thought that after 17 yrs this will be the whole package... I would love the see the story mode from budokai tenkaichi 2 with this gorgeous game... well I guess gamers can't have it all.. sad... ='(
I was also hoping this one would deliver the ultimate experience.
Kakarot was unreal and I think its evironments were more consistent with the art style of its characters.
Kakarot has the advantage of a smaller scope, it had less it needed to include so it could focus on what was there.
Totally agree on the discrepancy between the look of the characters vs. environment. Sort of reminds me of the old Simpsons Treehouse of Horror short where Homer ends up in the "real world" as a 3D model.
I might be one of the few that actually really likes the realism of the maps and the cartoonyness of the characters together.

Like Raditz get´s to meet goku again and becomes a good guy and cooler lears of frieza and trains to get stronger then him.
The blast games also had online play so technically it's well established in the spike games already (also One Piece Burning Blood, One Punch-Man, jump Force and J-stars if you want to count them too). BTW BT2 on wii didn't had online play, only BT3.
True, but those are more like spiritual successors, I'd say.
You didn't mention it but from I've heard so far the game's music is good but doesn't hold a candle to BT3's. Even Budokai 1's is better. I feel like this game is missing that too by not going all-out with the rock DBZ is known for
I guess....... It is from the same composer but 17 years later. I don't expect them to go for the same sound.
@@Wol1427 doesn't have to be the same sound. It's usually a case of needing better instrumentation, which many series do well. Even experimental ones like Jet Set and TWEWY
thank you that finally someone speak these things out... i wanna say that in tournament gamemode by previous games we had 16 entry member instead 8 and we could play in different diffculty like we had to so by that means we get higher reward and better chance earn dragonballs, but in sparking Zero thats not the case u can play any diffculty and it doesnt even matter the zeni earning and dragonball rate is the same and thats make no sense like for what you do tournament then.... and like u said the lack of content we have is sadly less any other modes besides tournament and ranked is just custom battle, episode battle (story) and thats it so by that means it getting dry soon and people getting bored to play because u doesnt have anyhting to do and i feel it right now because i have the game finished in 2 days. 1 other thing that make me sad is the shenron wishes u can wish things that u get on shop aswell only 3 things thats not in the shop that are the titles and the 3 capsules like broly ring but thats it any other reward is available on shop so it make no sense summon shenron anyway. My idea would be give us lifetime content like give us Mission to do to earn dragonballs and Auras and accessoires for the Character but where are they??? give us reward on online play not only "rank" like capsules more Zeni than 1k each battle and some other stuff, and keep upgrade the game everyday with new Mission to do so like people not getting dry and have always something to do and get rewardet instead of only do battle reaching rank and finish story and thats it. If these things not happen game is been less active very dry and probably dead and thats sad for that awesome gameplay wise game. I hope everything get better soon and game get fixes aswell sadly they dont listen community anymore since its released and bringing out stuff like updates from other dragonball games that shouldnt be the goal... this game is new and fresh released it should be focused for years to make it stable in the meantime and future. I love Sparking Zero, but man does it have flaws. I agree with pretty much all the criticisms you gave in this video, so I won't rehash them here. But some additional things that really bugged me about this game are:
*TL;DR (Summarized by A.I.):* I had several issues with Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, including bugs that affected online play (e.g., merged special attack buttons), poor matchmaking and laggy online gameplay, random PS5 shutdowns, tedious trophy requirements (especially for the Porunga Dragon Balls), a cluttered character select screen, slow navigation in story mode, and an annoying opening dialogue before each battle.
- When playing online with the classic controls, there's a bug where the modern controls and classic controls for special attacks somehow get merged. Like the skills you use with the circle button have been switched to the D-Pad and stuff like ultimate attacks and beam attacks, like the Kamehameha, are all just the triangle button. When performing one of the triangle button moves, your ultimate attack will always take priority so you can't use your beam attack. I was going for the platinum trophy on the PS5 version of the game, and for one of the trophies, you need to play 100 online matches, and about 85% of the matches I played, I had to deal with this bug, causing me to lose a lot of them where I would have otherwise won. I did eventually adjust to the borked controls, allowing me to win more matches even when handicapped but it was still insanely annoying. I think the cause for the bug was if the other player was using the new modern controls, messing up the player with the classic controls.
- Speaking of playing online... it sucked. Not only would it take ages to find a match even when adjusting the matchmaking settings to make it as quick as possible to finding a match, but when actually getting into a game with someone, they were always playing as one of these characters: SS4 Gogeta, SSB Gogeta, Super Vegito or MUI Goku. The one I encountered by far the most was Super Vegito, where the opponent would just spam afterimage strike, making it nearly impossible to hit them. I understand that the characters being unbalanced is part of what makes the Tenkaichi series so fun, but I didn't predict people to shamelessly ab*se (I had to censor that otherwise my comment would probably get hidden) the most broken characters in the game.
- Another massive issue I had was probably not the fault of Sparking Zero, but my PS5 would just randomly power off as if the power cable was ripped out, when playing the game. Now I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt that my PS5 is probably just packing up, but still, it happened a lot when playing online, which the game also penalized me for marking it as a disconnection, like I left the game on purpose.
- Now for the nitpicks. It took me 3 hours of just doing the same thing over and over again in P1 vs CPU to get 7 of the Porunga Dragon Balls, which you need to summon to get a trophy. It was the last trophy I needed, and the drop rate is only 5%, making it an insanely tedious task to obtain. Also, why is it only the P1 vs CPU mode that you are able to get these Dragon Balls? Why can't you get them through the story mode or online? It's just such a weird decision.
Another thing I dislike is the character select screen. It sucks. It's so difficult trying to find certain characters because everything looks the same and it's super cluttered. Why couldn't they at least bundle transformations like they did in the previous Tenkaichi games? Is it because they wanted to make it look like there are more characters than there actually are?
I also really hate how slow navigating the battle selection screen is in the story mode. It takes about 2 seconds just to navigate from battle to battle. Thankfully you can use the episode map to jump to certain battles, but I'd rather it be quick and snappy regardless.
One more thing that really annoyed me online was that you are forced to sit through the opening battle dialogue. There is no option to let players skip through it. This was especially annoying when rematching people because you have to watch the same two lines of dialogue play out 3 different times. Even more, considering how most of the people you'll fight against are using the same characters as everyone else.
My biggest gripe with this game is the vegeta story. One the main characters and half of his story just isn't there
The environment critique is valid, Kingdom Hearts is on Unreal and managed to deal with that issue by having their own shader.
We can always get more dlc story content. (Yes I’m coping) I think our expectations didn’t help. Game is still great but for sure it has issues and I was also a bit bummed out about the story mode.
One of the things I also find somewhat meh is the combat against AI, not the difficulty (that I actually like, much more fun than the previous ones), but their dodging, countering and blocking is just too good, even on lower difficulties - like in BT1, 2 and 3, if you charge a kamehameha you got like a 50% chance it will not be blocked, or if you do an L2+up+triangle move that dashes with a tiny cutscene attacking a character, you also get like a 50% chance it hits (and this was on very hard mode) - the combat in this game however pretty much gives you a 20% chance or even less of actually getting a hit on the AI with these moves if you don't already have them locked into a combo, this kinda leads to the same battle over and over, go sparking, combo, kick away, ultimate, repeat, since that is actually the only thing effective against the AI, since everything else they dodge, counter or block - this makes fighting against actual people way more fun, since at least you can trick them with your instant transmission kamehameha and actually take them on with other attacks without comboing them, since they make mistakes and hesitate
And then the effects on screen sometimes obscure what you're seeing, so I'd be hitting the air after crashing into a rock with the enemy, only to realize they started pounding me while my vision was obscured - this happens so often I have started trying to avoid battling at places with many rock structures or buildings (not to mention the actual getting stuck in a building or a rock unable to get out without using a super)
Other than that, I really enjoy the combat, it is by far the fastest feeling (which is awesome, since BT3 always felt a little slow to me) and most engaging and probably will struggle to ever go back to BT3 simply because I acclimated to the speed of this new game XD

I agree that given how a lot of the fights are a slideshow set-up, I don't get why we couldn't get certain fights. Especially ones where they already have the characters and a appropriate map.

I found your channel waiting to get Sparking Zero! and I am too also a vegeta fan. Best character arc in the series…and while it’s disappointing, it will absolutely take the bite out of the pain I would have had in experiencing the short vegeta saga after a few hours of gameplay. I’m still getting it, but I have the proper expectations now. Awesome, thank you for this video my friend.

A comprehensive story mode going though every fight between Dragonball to z to super to gt would have been amazing and honestly would have won this GOTY but as it stands disappointed with this game as a single player game person

Honestly it should have skimmed over the highlights of Z and focussed mostly on the new stuff that's never been seen before.
It's very strange to focus on Z for the 90th time when they've even dropped the Z from the game's title lol
@@QuakeGamerROTMG I agree with that, Kakarot exists for Z and in extreme detail. People complaining over the lack of Z content in Sparking Zero needs to stop. A lot of people also skipped Kakarot due to it being the same story so these Z complaints is baffling to me. I understand the OG Dragon Ball and Super though since we never really had a game focus on them like that.
so its a bigger game that looks better and reuses a lot of mechanics from tenkaiichi 3 but has less story coverage in some areas than its predecessor from 2007?
I actually like it that the environments look this good, even though it's an anime game so the characters are still gonna look like anime characters, I want the environments to look realistic, I mean this is supposed to be a PS5 game after all, can we finally leave the PS3 textures behind?
He is complaining about artstyle style not texture quality. They could have had less realistic artstyle. Fighterz backgrounds look beautiful for example.
Notice how every game is missing things that it shouldn't be missing in 2024? Why are ps2 games from 2000 more complete than games now even after 3 years of dlc? I think companies are using AI to make games and just using ppl to polish before release. Why would every game be missing key elements?
I was very disappointed vegeta story stopped at the buu saga, even though you can switch to him during the goku black arc he has his own fights in TOP but I guess since U6 tournaments and some other U6 characters aren’t there. Part of me feels like DBS drags the game down if I’m being honest.
How did they not let us play Super ad Vegeta? Tf are we doing here?

the only review we need about the game is that the combat is FAR far better than xenoverse/kakarot - it's crazy that BT3 created such an incredible combat system 17 years ago, so much so that there have been massive communities around the world playing it this entire time
now we are incredibly lucky that sparking zero is here, because it has MORE combat/combo depth than BT3, and is 20% faster and has absolutely insane visuals - this game is incredibly fun to play, and it's really exciting to see the online community loving this game - it could grow into a massive global online community, exciting times ahead
I feel you with the story leaving something to be desired especially to goku black sags since even the what ifs weren't special. I did really appreciate the jiren episode battle though because it was the only one that made me struggle. Didnt have too many issues with the othet ones

Its definitely lacking in a lot of aspect. Hopefully they have plans of refining parts of the game that are iffy.
I get why people are disappointed that Vegeta doesn't have any Dbs Battles, but it doesn't really bother me because almost all of Vegeta's fights in Super are covered in Goku and Trunks' Saga's. I do really wish they covered the That's my Bulma scene tho because that shit was peak
I was sharing this sentiment... except they gave Jiren and Goku Black their own story modes. Both of which rehash the same fights from Goku and Trunks. But I wanted to play them as Vegeta! I wanted a what if with Vegeta from Super!
I'll try this out when it's on a sale. I just always preferred Budokai/Burst Limit over the Tenkaichi games
I like the ones that have more of a traditional fighting game design rather than an arena fighter. If FighterZ It was a 1v1 fighter instead of a team fighter, that would have been perfect for me

I wish you would’ve brought up more bugs because there’s TONS of them I currently won’t play ranked until the classic controls are not glitched when facing someone using standard controls it literally remaps my skills and blast attacks. Embarrassing how this game released in such a poor state also people on consoles are losing their save data at random unless they backed it to the cloud. Another bug is how the controls won’t respond when pressed I’ll be mashing an attack or skill and nothing happens leaving this awkward window for me to be rushed or attacked. I love Tenkaichi and I very much appreciate this entry into the series and how it made me get reignited for it again but these bugs are awful and truly embarrassing on the devs part cmon do better.
I love this game but I was hoping it would be the definitive sparking game. Budokai Tenkaichi 2 and 3 still have modes that will make it worth going back to.
I think a lot of your criticisms are fair. I do think you were overly harsh on things like the glitches which can easily be patched out though. Vegeta's story mode is such a weird one to me. I caught myself with the dumbest smile on my face playing through his what-if scenarios, those were some of the best I've seen in any DB game. But you're absolutely right, it kind of sucked that so many of his fights were cut (which also means we missed out on what-if scenarios for those later battles).
My biggest complaint about this game personally is the Goku Black arc. It's so unbelievably repetitive to play through it even once, because it was repetitive in the show. Fight them, get beaten, go back to fight them again, get beaten, go back to fight them again, win. I didn't enjoy playing through it with just Goku, the fact that you also have the play through it with other characters too is awful.
I will say though, with how massively successful this game has been, both critically and in sales, the thing I'm most excited for is the innevitable sequels. Call me optimistic, but I don't think this game was ever meant to be a last hurrah, I think it was meant to be a relaunch. It was a test run to see if the market still existed and the DB fandom has proven than it does. Now we have so many of the characters modelled and animations complete, sequels are going to be much easier to make with far less pre-production needed - which means they can focus more on the game modes, gameplay (which is already excellent), and story presentation.
Man you had a pretty fair opinion on this game, it’s super fun and when it’s doing the Dragonball on screen it’s Amazing! Seeing those iconic attacks hit is like experiencing the show for the 1st time all over again 😌. You were spot on about the store mode it’s lacking as hell and those disjointed ass cutscene are hilarious bad 😂. All in all it’s a solid title and I’m happy to have it. The lacking side of the episode battle is honestly what got me the most. I was hoping I’d be occupied with TONS of episodes stories that lean heavy towards Super and the new super movies. Iv played Z enough. I also wish through the story’s you unlock characters instead of buying them. Woulda made progression feel rewarding and have a purpose. Still love the game

It has room to improve, but damn it lacks customization for characters not named goku or vegeta. So much room to customize the characters and very few unlocks, and yes i did 100% on all stories as well as all tournaments. They should bring back the ki/aura change like they did in raging blast, having piccolo charge ki similar to broly for example.

Was it everything I was hoping for? Yeah pretty much. Don’t get me wrong. It’s not completely perfect. There are a few things that annoy me and that the game could do a bit better but they’re mostly just nitpicks. Like I kind of wish that some transformations were a bit more detailed And there are also a few missing characters that were in previous Budokai Tenkaichi games. But I do have my hopes for future dlc and patches. Its a solid 8/10 for me.

Fair criticism I would say though there are a ton of little things that usually aren’t in these types of games. Like little references and details. I think that makes it stand out from the rest or from being just average. Story mode is just bad though I play on pc in 4k it looks like crap, the compressed scenes blurry and low res/fps. I liked the slides though honestly they should have just did more slides make it like an animated comic I would have actually like it.
Quick correction it’s the outworld tournament not tournament of destroyers which tbh I was mad wasn’t included in the super story. They could at least did vegeta vs cabba and goku vs hit even though I love vegeta vs the steam engine guy ( sorry don’t know his name ) but Ik his not in the game. Also could include frost battles. Idk why they didn’t include it at all and it’s not like they didn’t remember it happening because Ik in at least gohan’s what if they mention it. However that being said great review. I bought the ultimate edition and this first 70 dollar game I paid full price because I believe that’s ridiculous and so far every one I bought that was during sale and was glad I didn’t spend 70 it was. Also to be honest I am a vegeta fan and I don’t think you your whinny. We all expected vegeta to be second longest. There was a lot in story I don’t understand why it wasn’t included. Even trunks’ story. The whole goku black story is about trunks going to the past being reason for zero mortals plan but we don’t play it. I have been watching a lot of online play and not saying this as excuse because it should be an issue to start with but seem quick play is terrible but ranked has been great because some ppl getting glitch controls when ppl use classic controls. Also understand custom battles, it’s neat and sure they’ll be some great ones but rather just do battle. However I did make one , mostly for the dragon ball but it’s broly z vs broly super. I want to make something just fun and sort for every so it’s just 3 intro lines and then you fight. The cpu is 16 out of 20 and only thing did to characters was give max to make it last longer. If your interested can give you code if not I understand. Again great video. As dbz fan I’d say 9/10 but story is the weak point and hope they add more with dlc like gt. Also edit I forgot to say your never stuck in a combo , there’s another counter that’s up and the punch button , it’s only counter that works when getting hit from behind. Hope that helps and another I forgot was l wish there was more maps no kame house and as a vegeta fan I like the one with the truck where he fights 18. When they used wasteland ( I would least went with islands) that’s when maps stuck out more lol

Agree on the point of battle modes. Custom battle sounded too good to be true, and by what I've seen so far, it was. Not what i imagined from such a mode, and the lack of a traditional survival or tower vs mode definitely hurts the game. I hope to be proven wrong, and that there is some master storyteller waiting to unveil the potential of custom battle, but lets just say I'm not holding my breath.
yeah and these mode is just for time waste and do fights it u doesnt get anything from that not even zenis or capsule or auras.. the only thing that does in that mode are bonus battle and that are 37 fights... in bt3 we had like mission 100 and sim dragon and better world tournament alot to do and gettng rewardet for these that we only can obtain on these mode... not even the shop get updated if u reach player lvl 20 and game getting no fixes and lifetime content since release
I love this game but offline mode CPU is too easy already and ranked is just filled with meta cheesers (i’m in high rank) and people who you just vanish fight until someone runs out of ki OR they just keep switching characters to let the time run out… and I have a weird feeling it’s going to stay like this for a long time. They wont add new difficulties since for some reason most people seem to think that the AI is overpowered (I myself haven’t touched a BT game in 15+ years) but got used to it within 8 hours of gameplay. And chances of them balancing some online stuff are slim to none. I’m just kinda stuck on what to continue playing because I really do want to play but I kinda feel.. stuck? Gameplay is soooo insanely good but yeah the problems I have are concerning.

Yknow quite a few months ago i told myself to lower my expectations cause too many games ive waited years for have burned me, and there was no way this game could live up to any of the lofty ideas everybody has dreamed up over the years, it just wasnt possible.
But even still… this game only barely meets any expectations at all. And in some ways its completely lacking, like the broly movie is 6 years old it should be in the fucking story
I do disagree with quite a few of your points tho, because you say theres not enough coverage of Super but then you also have such a blatant dislike of almost all of Super’s contents so you really wouldnt have been satisfied either way from the sound of it.

I don't love Super but I like certain parts of it. I wasn't wanting more Super necessarily though, I wanted a complete Vegeta campaign which meant all of his Super coverage.
I would have been far more satisfied if that had been included.

If your playing for story mode this is not the game thats kakarot or xenoverse tenkaichi have never focus on the story more so the fighting in depth system your getting alot of content in story it just wont have the cinematic like kakarot.

Offline VS CPU, the various tournaments, and being able to watch CPU VS CPU is all I'll ever need, especially with the massive 182 character roster, insane graphics, and amazing gameplay. I rarely ever play the story mode in any fighting game more than once and I have absolutely zero interest in online.
Agreed 100%. That's what Kakarot was for me. The story and What-Ifs are cool but I'm glad it really hit the main points and kept it moving, especially considering the unlocks and that you have like 8 different perspectives in Story. I honestly don't think I'd bother finishing the Story if I was 5 hours deep and just in the middle of Frieza Saga with Goku.

The cinematic story seems lazy to me, there are some eyesore when the camera goes under the stages. The outro makes the it looks weird too when they freeze in the end, the clothing and the model themselves aren't moving. Only characters with hair.

I never truly cared for online so I bought this game to play through the story in its entirety and was sadly disappointed it was such a shit experience. Besides the what if stories I probably wouldn’t have beaten it. Also some what ifs are pointless and just have a different cutscene and ending

I haaaaate not having any GT story content, its always the same fucking 5/6 characters. GT Goku, Pan, GT Trunks, Baby, Majuub, Shenron. Where's Eis/Nuova, Goten, Mustache Vegeta, Super 17?????? I'm glad Baby Vegeta got all of his forms but thats at the cost of like every other GT character that couldve gotten included.
also Vegeta shouldve covered the GT side of things, while Goku does super.

I want every single fight in the game and I am in my 30 and have played through it a million times... if you're making me play through the story i want all the fights and I want to win them all not survive. lol

I saw Vegetas insane character development in Z and GT.. amazing Faulconer music, good dub voice acting and the writers knocked it out the park with Vegeta’s dialouge in the Buu Saga.. AMAZING animation. Goku vs Majin Vegeta is still some of my favorite media of all time. Then I tried watching Super and turned it off immediately after seeing him dance like a clown infront of Beerus topped with bad animation. Never really liked the new DB formula since. For me it ended with Z. Everything from music, voice acting, writing, animation is just a downgrade from a show that peaked in the 90s. I’m a massive DBZ fan but the new stuff? No thanks
