Holy cow, it never clicked for me that they invented an origin story for Helmeppo's yee-yee haircut. (Probably because I didn't initially remember him from the manga)
Interesting video -- I agree with almost everything you said. BTW, the game Garp and Koby played was *Go,* not _Othello._ Othello is a simplified, kiddified version of one of the most respected strategy games in the world.
Loving your choice of BGM in this, LMAO I never thought I'd hear EarthBound or SMRPG or Pikmin 2 paired with One Piece but I am here absolutely living for it
9:50 I slightly disagree here, for one reason: He didn’t go in the water. The fact that Shanks *dove into* the water to save Luffy in the anime showed that whatever mysterious power he had when he scared off the sea monster wasn’t a devil fruit power. Since he didn’t go in the water(how the heII did he even get to the boat without getting wet btw?) a lot of people unfamiliar with the story mistakenly assumed his power was a devil fruit power, making it lose a bit of the mystery of what his power actually is.
MAY/BRENDAN RIVAL BATTLE THEME. Okay, just one of my favorite Pokémon tracks, no biggie at all 🎺🎺🎻 This video in & of itself is a cove...of a true Treasure Trove, argh. Gets me feeling like Gear Second is suddenly active
20:18 Nah, I disagree with you on this. The scene itself is fine, but the buildup was *not* that good. At least not as good as the anime. Because of two things. First off, they took away the emotional gut punch of finding out that the village already knew about her deal with Arlong and were only pretending to hate her so she wouldn’t feel obligated to follow through on the deal, or feel like she failed them. They changed it so Nami never told even Nojiko about it until Nojiko witnessed her digging up the treasure(which doesn’t make sense, I mean, how did she never notice Nami burying that treasure *NEXT TO THEIR MOTHER’S GRAVE* which is *RIGHT OUTSIDE THEIR HOUSE* for 8 years?). And two, they also took away the emotional buildup of Nami failing to stop the villagers from trying to go to Arlong Park. So instead, she actually *succeeded* in stopping them, and only *after* the hat scene. And then the villagers never even bothered to show up to watch the fight to decide the fate of their village. I wouldn’t go as far as to say the live action version was bad, but it certainly wasn’t great either.
Here's a thing about Zoro's childhood friend. She was a sword master who was said to have died by "falling onto her sword". She was a young woman who knew she'd have to give up on her life passion and all her hard work would go to waste as she would have been married off to the guy who would be inheriting her father's legacy. It's clear that she hated the future she was fated to merely by being a woman. That woman comitted sepukku. They treat her death as somethign serious bc, to them, it was.
No, how do you assume that she doing a seppuku or getting married off unwillingly? There is no conversation as such in the manga, and if you referring to the anime. Her father only stated that no matter how good Kuina is, the dojo cannot be inherited to her. He was talking about there's a big wall that blocking her, and that wall is because she is a woman, as Kuina said it herself how woman are viewed to be weaker than men after time passes. That is why her chance to go and fulfill her dream is small. Kuina's ambition to be the best sword wielder is already there since early training, and when Zoro came, she trains more so she won't ever lose to him. Then after her father words she start getting doubt about herself again and loosing her foot. But Zoro managed to get her back up in her feet again after they promised each other. It also shown how the morning after Kuina getting more strong and fierce with her training after that, she was more determined then ever to spar with zoro and going to sharpened her sword when she unfortunately fall down the stairs while getting the whetstone. The conversation afterward emphasis on how fragile and unpredictable life is, no matter how high expectation you have on it. And as far as I know, seppuku is an act to restore one/family honor, or as punishment for their act, or die in honor when surrounded by enemies.
I hope this at least adapts Skypiea, and I will be totally satisfied. LRLL thru Enies Lobby if need be, but I kinda consider those as they are in the anime perfect as can be. But, hey, if the Live Action can cover some of the more dated aspects of the series concerning Sanji after all of that, it's another net-positive W in my book
lol probably because of name Oda, every other blind fan will say its good. But we have Recent Marval movie with slight degradation on VFX ...oh no. All hell break loose ...god damn hypocrites.
I actually feel like Luffy in this show was made a little more cookie cutter compared to the original manga. One of my favorite parts of his character is how he let his actions speak for how many saw him as. Here there are many times where he explains himself about who he is and what he's gonna do. Makes him less entertaining for me. (His actor is perfect for the role though like omg)
