I really think that this is the best pattern and method for this pencil case. I forgot to save it the first time I saw it and have looked at 4 or 5 other videos today trying to find this one again. With all the comparisons, I like this one best because it's easy and the zipper handle is very cute and creative. The only thing I will take from one of the other videos is that I will probably bind the zipper tape because I'm using zips and fabrics inherited from my husband's grandmother and I will likely have mismatched colors. So glad I found this video again!
So brilliant!!!! I have a lot of patterns for this kind of pouches, but yours is so easy and at the same time so brilliant! Thank you so much for your effort!
This is genius! Thank you so much. I have so many nieces and nephews that would love these. I will definitely be making them one each. Thanks so much for sharing. Lee xx
Love this. Making for my son. Great place for him to place his crayons and not worry about them rolling away when we are at restaurants or flying. Thank you for sharing.
Wonderful! Thank you. I am going to make them as travel toiletry bags. Can’t tell you how many times I have taken stuff out of my bag in a hotel bathroom and something has gone missing. Or there isn’t a flat space to put stuff safely. I will probably add a slip pouch on one side for nail scissors, file, headache pills etc to make them easy to find.
About to give it a try! I think this is a great idea for the younger kids in school. Opens up nicely for them to see everything but closes up small so it’s not bulky
This is one of the cleanest patterns to do this style of open up pouch. Thank you! May I know is easily easy to scale up? Do I just add up the same amount for all the measurements, like say add 4cm to all sides, if I wanted to make a bigger pouch?
I don't see the pdf on that link posted. I have watched a few videos for this same style of pouch and this one seems to be the simplest and easiest one. Thank you for this version.
How could this be done using continuous zipper tape? I know how to do the end that you snap on, what I don't get is how I could adapt the cut side of the tape to the other end. I'm also confused about which side of the 16cm x 15cm side is folded in half -- do you fold the longer 16cm side or the shorter 15cm side?
@@sewingtimes I managed to do it with continuous tape. It does require one additional step: after the case is finished, it becomes necessary to stitch the bottom together by hand with an overhand stitch. Which probably added about 30 seconds. Also, since I chose to use one of my scrappy leftover blocks (where I stitch scraps together), I opted to quilt the block. This gave a nice body to the bag. Granted, when I sewed the lines for the folding areas, I stitched them several times to ensure they were well creased. Thank you for an amazing idea!
My zippers don't have the extra fabric tabs at the end to securely attach the tab. In other words, the zipper ends where the woven part of the zipper ends. I'm thinking making the tab deeper? I guess it's because it's a jacket style zipper. I'm going to end up breaking my needle if I try to go over that plastic edge. Does ANYONE know what the heck I am saying? Any suggestions? Any mental health advice?😢
I just realized you replied to me! I ended up just getting the zippers I needed. I still have a LOT of long separating zippers for jackets. I don't make clothing items, do you have any other ways I can use them or tutorials you've done using those bulky separating zippers? Maybe that mini suitcase one you did? I'll have to go and look. Thank you! Love everything you do!@@sewingtimes

i recently wanted to make a new pencilcase, and this one is the one i want to make! but i dont have sturdy fabric but im sure i can make it sturdy- thanks a lot for this tutorial!! :))
Add a layer of fusible interfacing such as Pellon lightweight clothing interfacing, or if you want more sturdy, SF101. Or add 2 layers of the lightweight.

質問です。
35cmのファスナーで作る事は可能でしょうか?
教えて頂けたら幸いです。
取っ手が短くなり、筆箱が少し広がることもありますが、35cmのファスナーで作ることも可能です。😄🌻

Do I have to use such a long zipper? Can it be a little shorter?
It's okay if it's a little short. However, the pouch may not fully open. Thank you😄🌻
дякую 🙏🙏
Does anything fall out if shaken?
Unless it is a very small item, it will not fall out of the pouch.😄🌻
Bonjour madame
Merci pour cette jolie video
Pouvez vous me donner en cm les mesures du petit rectangle 2"x31/4"
Merci beaucoup
Petit rectangle s'agit 5cm x 8cm. Merci😄
In italian title should be "astuccio a vassoio".
Cheers!
I fixed it. Thank you🤗
I’m waiting for the pdf to land in my mail box.
Muy bonita, pero los creyones y lápices se salen por los lados
Es una pena😭¡Que tengas un buen día💕

Du kannst mit einer Zange die überflüssigen Zähne vom Stoffband abknipsen.
