Haha! I found out tomorrow is my colleagues birthday. I made three of these to hold some fruit I bought to give as a gift! This is a great tutorial. It's much easier than it appears from just watching. In fact, the practice bowl I made from scrap paper on my first try came out better than my subsequent two bowls, perhaps because I was being more careful while learning. Don't forget to pause and rewind sections and don't feel shy to pull on the paper for some of those folds.
Very pretty and also really stable (unlike the star dish it really can be filled with heavier things).
Hi. OMG I cannot thank you enough! So much happened ever since I got into making your beutiful origami. It started when I started making them and giving them to my friends. After that I made a DIY Purse for my mom. My mom's friends loved the purse and wanted me to make more. And guess what! They paid me to $5 each for a purse! It's like I have a job now! I made my own version of it :
Origami is an art that has been practiced for thousands of years. You can't copyright your tutorials even if you believed you created the design, as it is possible that someone else already folded a piece of paper in this way and has never published it. Just so you know.
Just so you know, you CAN copyright an origami design, after checking that no one else has made it. If someone has folded it before then that's great for them. There is no issue with that. I have an issue with people like you spreading misinformation and ignorance.
