My brother in law went in with the worst lazy posture you can imagine, was somehow admitted to the Guard, and we almost didn't recognize the guy when he came back :)
9:20 no, they have 6 months to get ready for April when they "graduate", and then it's all traveling around the world to perform for the next 6 months. :P Well, not just that, alot of the performances happen back home.
They do their duty year in 12 months. But must first do the recruit school in 3 months. so they are in HMK guard for 9 months. At least that's how it was before when I did my first service. Greetings from Norway.
In the Viking Age, Scottish islands such as Shetland, the Orkney Islands and the Hebrides were Norwegian. There were also Iceland, the Faroe Islands and Greenland. Norwegian Vikings were also in the northern part of Scotland and Ireland and part of western Sweden. When Norway was occupied by Denmark (forced union) they stole Norwegian territories in the west and did not give them back. Norwegian territories in Great Britain were sold to England. Everything was about money. Denmark kept the rest itself. The ties to Scotland and Iceland have lasted for over 1,000 years. During the Second World War, Norwegian soldiers and saboteurs went back and forth between Norway and Shetland. They often brought Norwegians to Shetland who had to escape from the Germans. In Bergen there was a Norwegian naval officer Leif Andres Larsen "Shetland-Larsen. He was part of the Norwegian Shetland gang, and became one of the highest decorated allied soldiers. There is a Norwegian film called the Shetland gang. When Scotland tried to be independent from England a few years ago by holding a referendum, they sought a partnership with Norway. The ties between Norway (especially Western Norway) and Scotland are strong. New dna tests show that many Scots and Irish have a lot of Norwegian dna. The Icelanders have it too. At the beginning of the Viking period, Norwegian Vikings settled there. On RUclips, Scottish and Irish researchers have talked a bit about dna research. In Scotland, some ancient DNA from the Siberian people has also been found. In general, Scotland has been populated in ancient times from mainland Europe.
The ties have been there isnce the Viking age. But during WWII Scottland was home to the Norwegian army in exile. A Norwegian brigade was formed allready in june 1940 in Dumfries, first asa collection point for Norwegians who reported for duty after the recent Nazi occupation of Norway. The Brigade was Combat ready from December 1940 and was allocated for the defence of Scotland.
They are marching in Virginia, Washington DC, Nova Scotia on Canada day. And all around the world. Even in moscow. And its all on u-tube. Belgium, Deutschland, Netherland,France×++
Oh, and this happens all the time with these old guns. This band is a favorite for band kids to serve in, we had to play audition to get in. This show was the culmination of the entire year's training, being in late summer. When we got home from this trip it was straight out and home.
I just bought you a coffee, and I am sorry the video is longer than 5 minutes. I saw that request after I sent mine. I hope it’s ok this time. I won’t do it again 🙃
Hi Janne! I got your coffee and I replied. We actually have the Kongen Befaler episodes in the wishlist. So I can add your coffee to episode 3, is that okay? Please check my reply

Precise without being dictatory. Creative without hyping. Norwegians in a nutshell right there. Great choreographed and polished.

Yes, at 4:03 if you look at the right: when the gun hits the ground you can see it go off and blow the plume of the hat up.

A friendly advice: The sound from your mic. is horrible! The worst on you tube. You need to investigate and fix the problem..
