She's more than trained. You can check various "Vocal coach reactions" to her performances on youtube that explain why and how she's a really trained singer. And being trained isn't anithing to be shame of. She worked hard for years and finally, at 28, she get back something for all that effort and job. Really deserved
I would like to explain one thing to those that aren't inside the musical industry (and sorry for my English): auditioning to record a song and sing is one thing... if she wanted it was already done. Auditioning for West End or Broadway musical (that is what she tried for all these years) is another matter: you audition for a specific role in a theatre production, and you don't need only to be a good singer, but you need to be an actor, with some characteristics, you need to be tall the right way to stay near the other singer, you need to have the face and nose and eyes the director is looking for... There are like 10-15 big production in Broadway during an year and THOUSANDS of performers that apply for them... and you have 5 or 10 minutes to show everything about you and what you can do. It's not a big surprise that some gems like her (because SHE IS A GEM) can be lost in that corwd of singers .(and I won't be surprised if there are another couple at her level that are experimenting the same frustration) Another problem is: if you accept too many "small parts", you end up being "the singer for the small parts" and no one will call you anymore for big parts; if you don't accept "small parts" you have nothing to put in your curriculum... The musical industry is DAMN HARD, also for good singers. I'm very happy that Sydnie finally found a way to shine. She already said in an interview that she'll use the 250.000 pounds to pay the BGT vocal coach once a week for "the rest of my life" (she said that BGT vocal coach helped her to sing better in 2 months more than 3 years of singing school)... she'll finally have the shot she deserves

She's definitely had training, but she has worked SERIOUSLY hard to get the range, the control, the ability that she has, and to be so confident in her placement as well. She has such an old school tone to her voice. It's a mix of Judy Garland, Barbra Streisand and Shirley Basy lol I hope she has a massive career after this. I'll be the first to pre order that first album when it's announced.

A performer like her is amazing in any form but live takes your breath away. The person she most reminds me of (not because of her voice, she is unique) for the power and emotion she can make you feel is Barbara Streisand with Celine Dion a close second. Like Barbara, once you are exposed to the magic of Sydnie Christmas her stardom feels inevitable (they also have the normal but funny & outgoing girl energy, Barbara was that lovable, self deprecating New York Jewish girl we all fell in love with, Sydnie is the British version of that girl everyone loves).

This is one of the best performances of any of these shows, period. Since Kelly won Idol and catapulted singing competitions into the the mainstream over 20 years ago, there have probably been a dozen performances that reached a level beyond all others. For me, this is one of them.

I never had an interest in BGT or other talent shows, but when I was feeling down and looking for something different I found Kodi Lee on AGT, that blew me away, and through that I found Sydnie Christmas. Then that led me here. When you do the last performance, make sure you watch the final results as well. And grab a few boxes of tissues... lol And going back to Kodi Lee, I really recommend checking him out. Heck yeah!

I so appreciate your energy and enthusiasm over Sydnie--matches my own! But keep in mind that her audition was the very first time that she performed as Sydnie Christmas. At auditions, she was just a nameless hopeful, given a script and a piece of music from the show, and I expect none of this allowed her talent a chance to show through. Until out of desperation she auditioned for BGT, forced by circumstance to reveal her own personality and her true voice. Her failure in theatre gave us a new true concert star, as polished and talented as Celine and Barbra. She should never go back to the theatre.
Love that you were man enough to show your emotions from her performance. I know Sydnie would win the moment I heard her audition. I am certain she’ll go far.

I never had an interest in BGT or other talent shows, but when I was feeling down and looking for something different I found Kodi Lee on AGT, that blew me away, and through that I found Sydnie Christmas. Then that led me here.
When you do the last performance, make sure you watch the final results as well.
And grab a few boxes of tissues... lol
And going back to Kodi Lee, I really recommend checking him out. Heck yeah!

I love your reaction videos more than just about anyone else's. Well, Beth Roars gives you a run for your money. Plus one of my best friends is your Yankee doppelganger! Your reactions, your passion for things that excite you, your facial expressions... I especially loved where you seemed to have gotten stuck near the end... I cried with joy through all three of Sydnie's BGT performances. I, too, would love to hang out with her. I'd also love to have her in one of the television shows I'm developing at the moment. I so appreciate your energy and enthusiasm over Sydnie--matches my own! But keep in mind that her audition was the very first time that she performed as Sydnie Christmas. At auditions, she was just a nameless hopeful, given a script and a piece of music from the show, and I expect none of this allowed her talent a chance to show through. Until out of desperation she auditioned for BGT, forced by circumstance to reveal her own personality and her true voice. Her failure in theatre gave us a new true concert star, as polished and talented as Celine and Barbra. She should never go back to the theatre.
Love that you were man enough to show your emotions from her performance. I know Sydnie would win the moment I heard her audition. I am certain she’ll go far.
